Good price, but Part 1 Bluray is as cheap as $10.00 new on Amazon and $17.76 new for Part 3 and $16.50 for part 2... not bad if you have the Amazon premier account where you get free shipping.

It only makes senses since they're old films and the newness factor has worn off.

I like the fact how in the JTM cut scenes, we see Tamara's extended scene when Kelly Hu sees her face down with a mirror infront of her nose, ontop of the many glass shards in her back. Kinda goes back to her little narcotic experience.

Default I didn't think it was possible...

..but I officially HATE Paramount even more!!!! This whole 'new DVD' shit pisses me off. Why? Because I remember 2004 very well. I was 13, and I was excited about the box set. I had a fucking wody every second of every day for it. It comes out, and I loved it, even though we really got fucked in the cut footage department.

Now, the whole series is back out on DVD again... WITH BETTER EXTRAS. OK, maybe not entirely with part 3 or 8's case (the box set commentaries of both are missing, but it makes up for it with the inclusion of 3-D and cut footage for 8), but still. F13 finally uncut on DVD in the U.S.? Yep. 3-D part 3? Yep. NEW COMMENTARIES?! Yep.

Normally I'd have a 10 foot hard on for something like this... but in this case, it means that I'm going to have to BUY EVERY SINGLE FUCKING ONE F THEM AGAIN. God DAMN it, Paramount!!!

But hey, at least cut footage has finally surfaced for some.

Just wait for the inevitable Blu-ray set. It won't have all the special features the others had, but will probably have some new ones anyways. And it'll be missing some and adding more deleted scenes.

It's like the TCM 3 trailer bet - you can't win against that statement.

Thunder, just buy them off amazon used or some such so Paramount gets none of your money.

Wal-Mart officially has the entire series now. They have all the Deluxe Editions for $9 and then they have the Jason Slasher Collection, the remake on with DVD and Blu-Ray and His Name was Jason.

They also have Halloween origial and remake and a double feature of Halloween 4 and 5. They have an entire double and triple feature section which is awesome!

Final Chapter Blu-ray? Is there a release date?

Once that one's out, I can buy the first four in that format, then 5-8 on DVD and be done.

Everyone assumed that 4-6 would be coming on Blu the same day that TNB and JTM hit DVD, but alas, all quiet on the Blu front. I have a feeling the first three (or at least 2 and 3) didn't sell well, which prompted Paramount to rethink their release strategy.

Really? you hate Paramount? Is it because they continue to release bigger and better DVDs (and BDs for those people) with more features, commentaries, and extras, meaning more of the movies I love?

Yeah Paramount... those bastards.

Come on people! I'm sick of some of your constant bitching. Are some of you ever happy? For f_cks sake, I've been buying the new Special Editions at Wal Mart a couple at a time for a measly NINE DOLLARS a piece. Okay, nine bucks. Are some of you honestly telling us you can't spare a mere 9 dollars for a pristine, remastered DVD crammed with new extras of a movie you claim to love? Please.

I have the old VHS tapes, some of the barebones original DVDs, the Box Set, and now most of the new Special Editions and I couldn't be happier. Now if only New Line or Warner or whoever would be mean enough to do this with my beloved A Nightmare on Elm Street series. Is New Line somehow better than Paramount in that we only have an old box set from the 1990's and ONE "Infinifilm" Special Edition?

In my opinion, Paramount has raised the bar for old horror DVDs and I surely hope the guardians of the Freddy Krueger legacy are paying attention.

Oh, and one more thing. Stop whining about "uncut versions". They simply don't exist, and I for one don't want my original theatrical cut that was restored in High Definition to be cut together with crap from a 20 year old VHS tape, or some dalies that they don't even have the audio for anymore.

The only reason we got these last DVD's was due to taking an interest in the 09 film. Otherwise, we probably wouldn't have had them at all.

So what?

We do have them and they're great. Who cares the reason.

And when did the desire to make money become this horrible thing? Its pretty much what our economy is based on. All movies are made to turn a profit.

If this was just an evil scheme cooked up by Paramount to bilk me out of nine paltry dollars then I guess I'm a sucker and I fell for it because so far I've picked up the new SEs for 4, 5, and 7. I bought 1, 2, and 3 when they came out earlier this year. I plan on getting 6 and 8 next week.

I just hope the new Nightmare on Elm Street reboot stirs up this kind of treatment for that series, because the best time in history to be a Friday the 13th fan is right now.

I did that too. With the original I went from VHS, to DVD, to box set edition, to the Blu-Ray. I did the same with Carpenter's Halloween.

I'm sure that will happen sooner then we think. With a sequel coming out next year, I think next year is a good possability.

They aren't giving you more of the movies (exept Part 1 being uncut and deleted scenes) really. They are just providing more extras that you will only watch like three times in your life. The transfers look and sound nice though. I didn't get all of the new editions. I got the Blu-Ray of the original, Part 3-D on DVD, The Final Chapter and Jason Lives Deluxe Editions.

One thing I don't understand is why they did not give us part 4 uncut. The cut scenes(as I just saw them on you tube) look just as good quality as the final movie and have the sound intact.

The reason they don't is because as long as it's unreleased people will always crave it. Every time they make a new edition of the film we will all flock to our local Wal-Marts and purchase a copy. The reason they DO NOT release it so that with every new release we all buy it hoping that it is.

Of course these days with internet reviews it makes it hard for companies to pull that shit on you, but there are still people out there who buy blindly believe it or not. Also, it costs money to remaster and recut footage back into the film. It can be done, but it is all up to whether Paramount feels they can sell enough units to justify the price tag of restoring footage that has not been touched for decades.
