Not Made for TV version.....it was probably an additional scene that was cut from the theatrical version and added back in for time extension on television....that's what I meant. There's no way of knowing now since apparently Paramount threw everything away supposedly.

The first three films did not have footage put in them for the television broadcasts. Only 4-6 and JGTH have had that distinction. A number of Friday websites have never mentioned material being put into 1-3 for television broadcasts.

I only watched them once the day they come out, so I don't know exactly what on those features. (at work so can't put it on). But there are featurettes on how the camera angles for certain death scenes were made to pop out right at you, maybe that's the 3D Terror? And another had to do with the FX gags, maybe that's the jugular one?

I know Part 2 had various scenes slowed down to make up for lost gore/nudity in TV releases.

The documentaries are only 7 to 13 minutes. That is too short. I like my documentaries to be at least 30 to 45 minutes long minimum.

I don't see why not. It is Blu-Ray. With the Friday the 13th (2009) Blu-Ray you have two different versions of the movie, deleted scenes, trivia, documentaries, and how they did the kills all on the same ONE DISC.

I don't see why the Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D Blu-Ray couldn't have both the 2D and 3D versions of the film and at least an hour's worth of documentaries.

That's what I thought he meant when I first read the post... but after re-reading, I believe he meant that the blu ray disc should be able to hold all those things (which it does)... PLUS a longer documentary.

I hope that's what he means, anyway.

Now I own The Final Chapter Delux Edition and watched all of the deleted scenes. Those scenes are not only in widescreen, but they look so good that there is no way anyone is going to tell me that Paramount can not put those back into the film. All they would have to so is put music to most of them. The death scenes can definitely be uncut and the scenes with Trish and Tommy, they can just re-hire Kimberly Beck and a kid to do the voice over action in it. It can definitely be done.

Also, the news thing, Crystal Lake Massacres Vol. 1 got their facts wrong. They said that Jason was born in 1947 and drowned at the age of ten, but he was actually born in 1946 and drowned at the age of 11. It would be nice if they actually got their facts right if they were going to do a fake special feature like that.

They would have to do something about Tommy's voice though... he has a couple lines in the alternate ending... I am sure they could get another actor. Corey's voice is too different now to overdub.

At any rate, they would have to have the movie in raw to edit in longer scenes because of the score. You just can't cut a death and insert more footage with a score behind it because the score can not be made longer without really making it sound weird.

With the stuff I edited I had to remove footage from the movie and out the gore shots over those clips, so you actually lost footage rather than adding gore. That was the only way because of the score... I tried taking the movie score and putting it over where I cut but there was no way to extend it.

Yeah, the Crystal Lake Massacres thing was wrong, but that was not really made by Paramount- can't blame them. Also a Part 3 hock was used in the crime scene footage where Jason was killed when it should have been a 4.

Scab, you do realize that 3 and 4 utilized the same exact mask, right? It just looks a tad different because Richard Brooker and Ted White have differently shaped heads (similiar to the situation with Nick Castle and Dick Warlock).

Technology is always advancing, and there will never ever be a final version of anything. That is why I am happy with my DVDs. I own the Blu-Rays to the original and the remake, and have the DVD box set, and the first three New Line films on DVD, and His Name Was Jason and Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D on DVD, and am happy with everything I have. I don't see the need to keep purchasing the same films over and over when no matter what you buy, it will not be the best forever.
I beg to differ. Video is fast approaching the one barrier that could stop (or at least stem the flow of) double-dipping: the human eye. Only people with the best of vision can distinguish details with a resolution greater than 4000. Anything over 6000 is completely undetectable at recommendable viewing distances. Yes, technically, the picture CAN be better, but what's the point if no one can see it without pressing their faces to the screen? And Hell, eventually we'll get to the point where even THAT won't make the detail apparent.

Judging from the (speculated) resolutions of the next generation of home video, the next format is going to be the last to rely on superior picture quality as its prime selling point. From then on, progress will generally be limited to better sound mixes (which is approaching a similar barrier with the human ear) and more disc space for extras (which comparatively few people care about). At that point, it'll basically be a waiting game until true three-dimensional entertainment (i.e., holograms) can be perfected, at which point the entire industry will be thrown into chaos.

Well yeah, its true that they'd have to put a bit of effort into it, but it could be done. Its not like its impossible to do.

The MBV unrated DVD did it, and it turned out great. That footage was also missing the sound, and it was in worse shape than The Final Chapter footage.

So its not like Paramount would have to hire an army of film editors and restoration experts and spend millions and millions of dollars to extend the death scenes in the movie.

It costs money and if Paramount does not see the financial gain, then they won't do it. They have to pay people to do the ADR, the score and edit the film together. The DVD won't make back as much money as they put into it. Paramount didn't take as much stock into it as Lionsgate.

Yes, I do know that.

When I differentiate between masks, I am more or less saying that the mask in the mocumentary did not have the axe wound and all of the chevrons. The Part 4 mask had one half chevron left at the end and of course the axe cut. I guess I should say the Part 3 or 4 LOOK, not mask.

So, that is what I am referring to.

I believe Freddy vs. Jason was released on Blu-Ray (with all the extra features of the DVD) on 6-16-09 along with the remake and the other Delux Edition DVDs and Blu-Rays.

I got the dutch blu ray versions of Parts 2 and 3.
I read some reviews of Part 3 in 3D, but as long as it's not close to the theater version I won't bother.

I finally got 4-6 Deluxe Editions and I really enjoy the mocumentaries, hearing how some people believe one thing and the "conspiracy theorists" believe another. It's pretty fun to watch.
