I dug the V commentary.. it was more of a humor-based commentary rather than an insightful one. There should have been one with Steinmann and the editor (he did commentary for the part 6 disc) I am assuming that it would have been more insightful.

I did not like the commentary for 6 much, had some good info here and there... like, for instance when Jason is in the coffin it wasn't CJ or Bradley, it was SFX artist Chris Swift with the Jason make up on. It would have been a better commentary if David Kagen was involved or Thom Mathews.

I really dug the Part IV commentary from Adam Green and Joe Lynch. I kinda felt like I was sitting down with a couple of friends who are just as obsessed as me...

I liked it also all though it seemed like Steinmann was lost on his own film if it was not for the guy on the phone from Detroit it might have been really a bad commentary. But i enjoyed it.

I agree there Thom and David and CJ along with McCloughlin would of made for a better commentary.

Of course, it would be almost impossible for the station to figure it out (unless there was a bug in the corner or something), but still, Paramount may fear the ethics of the situation.
TV stations do not own movie footage. All of that footage would be the property of Paramount and they could use it for whatever capacities if they so desired. TV stations didn't prepare the old TV Versions of these movies. They were prepared by Paramount (or New Line) and then made available for leasing.

If THAT is the case then those versions of the films should have been in Paramount's vaults, right, Tallman? Or were those victims of Paramount's early 90s clean house thing?

I think when TV versions of movies are made, they generally are edited and sent out to the stations... I highly doubt Paramount would have kept them. The footage inserted into those versions was cut footage and probably was discarded in 1991 if not sooner.

Just finished watching Jason Lives with commentary. I thought it was a pretty informative commentary. Moreso than the ANB commentary.

I still need to watch TFC track with Joe Zito & the gang. I'll probably do so next time I watch TFC.

I remember YEARS ago....in the mid to late 80's, Part 2 aired on tv and it had a scene in which, after Mark is killed, the camera shows his feet and then they start being dragged off-screen. I know I am not imagining that...lol.

Okay, so how much are the DVDs going for? I'm getting $45 in Best Buy Rewardzone coupons and want to see if that would cover 4-6...

Oh, yea I know. I just meant they should be around the same price.....if not $14.99. So that would still cover it....sans the tax.

I'm exited now. I've been checking my mailbox all week long. My wife won't let me by anymore movies otherwise we can't eat or some shit. Since I bought my TV and BD Player, I bought 5 movies and she said that's enough. I'm like, "But I need my deluxe editions baby!!!"

That should cover them but if anything, you may have to pay a few bucks or so. Best Buy's website is listing them as $15 a pop but I'm not sure if that's how much they are in stores or not.

I got mine at WalMart for $13 a piece.

There is no made for TV version of Part 2.... that scene happened in your mind.

I could also swear I saw the eye opening scene on a dutch rental tape many years ago, finally I was able to track a rental tape down of Part 2... and guess, it was just as all the other versions.

I think everyone has had the illusion about seeing the eye opening scene from part 2, at least once.

When I was a kid and first saw the film, I sat there and waited for those eyes to pop open. I still wish they had, but they never did.
