Actually, I'd say that makeup there (along with Kane's performance in general) is what keeps TNB watchable.

I'm surprised at all the mixed feelings towards TNB. I absolutely love it. The best Zombie-Jason ever, a solid cast, likeable leads....If it werent for the trimmed gore shots, I'd view it as the ultimate Friday the 13th flick.

It's just so lacking in terms of direction, especially considering where it falls in the series. JL was just so energetic and full of good dialog and memorable characters, and TNB is just so flat and lethargic at times. I mean, Star Mummy guy is memorable, but other than that...ehh, I dunno. The climax at least is good too, and that's one of the big components of a F13 to me, so it keeps it from being completely worthless.

Agreed. The makeup and Kane were the only two saving graces for the film. That's why I enjoy it moreso than the other sequels in the series.

Don't you dare torture him with that crap! President Obama should add Friday the 13th (2009) as a banned method of torture.

I loved the make up personally, but I've been hearing alot of smack about the time out of the mask Jason spent in the movie.

Buechler did much of the effects work on "Freddy's Dead" as well. He even did Freddy's makeup for the Depp scene (in which Freddy has his 2-4 look).

I was very ashamed to watch the special feeatures of Gingerdead Man and find out Beuchler did the FX for that movie. I watched them and said, "Hey, he looks just like the director of F13 part 7! He really, REALLY looks like him. I... I think that is him, turn the movie back on and fast forward to the end credits!!! Doh!!! It is JC Buechler!!!

IMO Jason's make up is the only good thing about TNB.

I wonder if Buechler will talk about actually directing the movie instead of just the makeup scenes? The last commentary he did left me with the impression that Buechler only directed the scenes involving or related to Jason and let an A.D. direct the rest of the movie. :-/

So, tomorrow's the release date (technically today as it's after midnight). I got my shipping notification from Amazon (where I got them for just $11.99 each with free shipping as with all orders over $25) on Monday. Can't wait to get my hands on them. I'm most hyped up for the cut scenes from TFC. I also look forward to all the commentaries. Always love those.

Yep, and they arrived today, sooner than expected. Amazon later had changed the price to $12.99, but as I had already pre-ordered them, I got them for the price they were originally.

I've taken screencaps from the long awaited cut dream sequence ending. If you want to save the surprises for when you watch it, don't click these links. But if you're curious, check them out. I didn't bother taking any shots from what that Shock Til' You Drop teaser covered. I picked up taking shots after that.

Great to see this after all these years. Jason looks like a dummy, but as explained with other stuff in the "slashed scenes" feature, stuff that looked fake was fixed with color correction for the footage that they actually used. This also confirms that, as we assumed, that clip from the trailer that isn't in the movie came from this scene.

I knew of an alternate ending, but never heard of what it could be. Atleast we now know what happened to Mrs. Jarvis

Not really, since it was a dream sequence. While we can pretty safely assume Mrs. Jarvis was killed, a dream sequence doesn't really tell us anything as relates to how she was killed or where she was in reality.

Also, I really wouldn't call it an alternate ending, as it wasn't replaced with a different ending, just cut. It's more like a deleted scene.

True, the footage clearly shows where she's possibly been since her death, but what's definitly not seen is how she was killed. The theatrical scene shows us looking off screen at something, a musical stinger, shocked look. End of story.

Grammaricaly speaking, you're right! But I knew what I meant. I understand it was a dream sequence, but it still follows the formula of end ot the movie gags, which normally is written of as a dream. So it was an intended ending that was never used. But you're right in saying it doesn't prove how Mrs' Jarvis died, seeing how it was a dream and all...
