You know, my chief complaint with the original movie would be that Mrs. Voorhees wasn't seen until the end when she's revealed as the killer. I found it a little too cheap. I think she should have been seen earlier.

Here's what I think should have been done: Mrs. Voorhees should have been in the diner when Annie shows up looking for a ride. In a bit of foreshadowing, her face should have darkened when she heard where she was going.

Then, later on, when Steve is the bar talking with the bartender, Mrs. Voorhees should have come in and tried to talk Steve into leaving the camp. When he won't budge, she reminds him that her son died there, but even that doesn't sway him. He then leaves, and Mrs. Voorhees tells the bartender that he never should have opened that camp again.

Exactly. And when she says that shit about her son, they should have lead the viewer to believe it was the poor asshole that killed off earlier in the movie. That's how you plot a damn murder mystery.

I like it exactly the way it is, because I can remember how shocked I was the first time I saw the movie and they revealed that it was a 50 year old woman as the killer.

I think it would have worked that way, but it was just as effective as it is.

I'm with Scabboy. I think it was more shocking the way they actually did it. I mean, you have a double shock going on: A. where the hell did a 50 year old woman come from and B. HOLY SHIT, SHE'S THE KILLER!.

Exactly because the way the movie was done is that you would expect someone that was introduced prior to be the killer. Ralph, Steve, some of the campers, and really even Enos.

Heck yes... Enos was big, scary, and only had one line... you would want to expect him to have a bigger speaking role or something.

Enos had more than one line. He's the truck driver. He had plenty to say.

Fuck... I forgot the truck driver's name. I thought Enos was the guy with the broom and the sad eyes behind the waitress in the beginning. Show's you how much I watch the films.

For what it was worth, Enos really made a lot of his screen time. He was a jabber-jaw. He also seemed like he was digging on Annie an awful lot too.

If I was going into the movie fresh, I'd probably assume the killer was either Steve or Bill. I can see how one could make a case for Ralph, Enos or possibly Ned. Ned encounters the killer early on, so he's out of the running pretty fast (not to mention he was nowhere near Annie when she was killed).

Of course, there's the opening in 1958 to consider...the killer was clearly older than Barry and Claudette, based on the way they were reacting to the killer.

Regarding the intro, sometimes they are completely irrelevant in the movie. Some movies start off with the same and it ends up being a copycat killer (like My Bloody Valentine). Also, when watching a horror movie you never really pick a potential killer based on that because we all know it it is someone out of that range there's a reason for it.

He's the son of Ellen Travolta from Charles In Charge. I think that's John's sister. I know John has a brother who acts named Joey too.
Dude looks just like a young John though, well did at one time.

I thought it was his grandson.
He also played bass in the band The Swans during the 80s.

I'm a fan of The Swans, but I am not sure it's the same Harry Crosby. The Swans' website lists Harry as the bassist in 1984, but no photos show the Harry Crosby we know. Hm. this is interesting.
But they are from NYC, so it's possible!
