Really wanted HBK to win last night. He was pretty much the main reason I was still watching Raw. May check it out tonight to see if they have some sort of tribute to him or anything. Been reading that he may actually be retiring for good or taking an extended leave of absence since he was telling people backstage goodbye last night. So that pretty much sucks.

As for HBK losing I always knew this was the plan HBK has been saying since WM24 he wanted to retire at WM26

This WM LACKED... whatever. Most of the matches was short, there was no real drama. Even the HBK vs Taker match did end up in a blink of an eye. The finish was well considered but it was like coming like from totally nowhere, they used ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to show that the match is No DQ. Weaker one than the one they had last year. Really sorry for Shawn, as he is my top wrestler since 1995. Now RAW will be more unwatchable than eve for me.
Brett Hart vs Vince was WAY too long thus turning this event in a disaster. Really, really sorry for this one, want it to like it, I tried, but once it rolled like 10 minutes and it was doomed to fail. Sorry Bret. I think in some way Batista vs Cena end up a better match than Jericho vs Edge (even though Y2J retained). The WHC match started REALLY slow as the couldn't hit it off till the mid point. The post match Spear was a good spot, but was as well needless as it come. Fuckin' PG crap! Rey vs Punk were given like 5 minutes in which they managed to outshine like 3/4 of the entire tournament. The Divas crap was even needless than it was. Have no problems with Vickie playing homage to Eddie. OK, the froggie was horrible, but after all she's not a wrestler and gotta say she played it PERFECTLY after screwin' the cover a bit. Still I think this did not have had place at WM. MITB was alright even though with 10 guys. We knew most of them will sleep around the ring (which is quiet STUPID) but perhaps Swagger wining it did made this one for me. The squash opener was OK but it still was a squash. ShowMiz was showed as WAY too strong even though were the right team to win it. Now I think the gates for Morrison's heel turn are open. And Vince did called the TNA's product "tawdry".

One thing I have to say though, Jack Swagger might bring a little bit of comedy to the whole MITB thing after watching RAW last night. Swagger jumping Cena from behind, knocking him out with the briefcase, then yelling for a referee to cash in his MITB contract, then calling off the match before it was official due to Cena getting back to his feet and in kick ass mode. I could see this being a weekly skit with Swagger and Cena. Cashing in then backing out before it's official if Swagger feels Cena's not weak enough.

Say this carries on until after the MITB PPV takes place so they are 2 MITB Winners running around I can see Swagger finally cashing it in and winning only for the other winner to cash it in on him a few moments later and he loses the title

Well I'm glad I wasn't the only one that felt the way I did for this WM. I totally agree with the whole "It just didn't feel like a Wrestlemania event". Even last year's WM seemed bigger and more memorable than this one, hell this years will probably be the least memorable, but if the WWE continues to go down the road it's going (which we know it will since there is no competition) then this is likely a sign for things to come in other PPV's.
I was kind of thinking Stone Cold was going to come out to and or be a part of the match somehow like the ref or something?!?! Hell he was on some shows this last week and or maybe last two weeks? I know he was on Attack of The Show or on some show on G4 if it wasn't AOTS, and I know it was more for his new "Damage" movie or something but most of it was spent on talking about wrestling/wwe/wrestlemania and that's why I was really thinking he was going to be a part of it some way, shape, or form. I have turned it to TNA like last week or two and it is just as stupid and retarded as WWE. Mainly cause they have all the old farts in it!!!! Why for the love of god can't Flair AND Hogan just STAY AWAY FROM WRESTLING!!!! I just happened to turn it on when they were wrestling and I just couldn't believe it. Hogan moves slower than molasses, it's like he's in constant slow motion, and don't even get me started on Flair. Then of course they have old as fuck Nash and Hall, Foley, Sting, and I'm sure others I haven't seen yet. It's really seriously sad to see all of them ESPECIALLY Hogan and Flair still trying to stay in the spot light. They definitely remind me of that movie The Wrestler. It's obvious they are waaaayyyyyyy past their prime and glory days and they are pretty much working for a crap organization. Sure TNA is better than those local high school gym filling events but it's not to far off. They are still no where near the height WCW was much less close to WWE status even though WWE sucks hardcore now. They should have some kind of age limit on pro-wrestling to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if Terry Funk is still wrestling as well. Hell watch someone post that he is and he's on TNA with his buddy Foley lol If I see that comment i will never stop on TNA when I'm looking for things to watch lol. Back to Bret though and Takers/HBK matches. I think those were like the two biggest hyped matches for WM besides the title matches which again weren't even that big to began with just because the titles really don't have any meaning to them anymore to be honest with two of them. Those were two matches that could have been special because of the no DQ stipulations for them, even if Vince wasn't willing to take a huge hit or get busted open and what not then they should have allowed it for Taker and HBK. For them to make it the main event with it not even being a title match and hyping it like they did, especially with the whole "unleashing hell" on HBK or HBK "going to hell and back" to win this match and stuff you'd think that they probably should have just done another Hell in The Cell match! Actually that would have been a great idea since they're all going PG rated now (which if that's true than what's the point of having a PPV called "Extreme Rules"?? Kind of defeats the purpose if they're not going in that direction anymore) but had it been the LAST HITC match and since HBK and Taker were the very first ones to be in that match it would have fit perfectly for them two to be in the last Hell in The Cell match and retire that as well to. I did though think that the whole "have to win by pin or submission" stipulation was a way for them to be able to fight all over the place and use all kinds of weapons and objects through out their match just because they probably knew deep down that they wouldn't have been able to capture the same magic they did the year before. Letting Shawn use a chair, sledge hammer, or whatever against/on Taker and "hurting" him that way would have been more believable than Taker messing up his knee by doing his old school move or was it when he ran into/off the ropes? Either way, that would have been better and gave Shawn a more believable chance at him winning the match until Taker finally snapped at the end and went all evil on his ass. Heck, just thinking of that would have made Taker look even more bad ass if he would have been through objects and weapons and then finally snapping and taking Shawn out. If anything, I have a feeling that Taker will be the next to "retire" pretty soon. I'm thinking he get's his win streak to 20 and that would be it for him. I just don't think he'll leave it at an odd number and would end it with the last number either being a 5 or a 0. I know he to has been going through injuries as well which costed him his title reign for awhile because of needing surgery and he's already on a limited schedule I believe. Like he doesn't do house shows and if he does they're very limited. As for HBK, I'm pretty sure he's done. I thought he's been done for awhile now and should have left a long time ago but he's kind of like Hogan and Flair and just can't let it go sometimes, but I think he really does mean it this time. For all we know he could be getting injured again or re-aggervated some of his old back injuries? With the way Raw was done and his speech and all then you definitely got the sense that he's really and finally calling it quits. Yes he was amazing but like most stars of the 90's, his best days were already behind him and also because of his religous beliefs now totally ruined what DX really ment and were all about. HHH tried to keep that same attitude but with Shawn not willing to cross the line they just weren't the same. To be honest, the whole "New DX" run seemed like something Vince would have done had DX came from WCW and how he would put them back together but made them look like fools and embaressed them like he did with the NWO when they tried to bring all that back together a little after they bought out WCW. Anything and anyone that came from WCW when they bought them out really never got the same respect or "runs" like they did and Vince just killed their gimmicks pretty much (Also how he handled Goldberg when he came over is another example). That's how it really felt for them being reunited again for their last run and most of it was Shawns beliefs as well as WWE's new way/look of doing things as they're no longer in the Attitude days. Damn, another post I didn't mean to go to long about, but to much just comes to mind as I start typing lol. |

I dunno. HBK is the one veteran I didn't want to see retire just yet. Out of all the guys who were wrestling when I first started watching and are still wrestling today, Shawn is the one who still consistently puts on the best matches. I'd much rather see HBK stick around a few more years than see guys like Flair and Hogan still wrestle for that long. I may have said this already, but Shawn was one of the main reasons I've been watching Raw for so long. Even if Raw sucked, which it usually did, his matches and promos were usually still entertaining.
And yeah, the new version of DX was nothing compared to the original but the original was also at the peak of the Attitude era. Nothing in wrestling will ever be as good as things were during that time, period. With WWE going PG last year and HBK being a born again Christian, it certainly changed DX. To tell the truth though, their skits were still usually the best part of Raw. Point is that the two versions of DX shouldn't be compared to each other since wrestling now is nothing compared to what it was back then and each version should be enjoyed for different reasons. Wasn't expecting to make this so long, so I'll wrap it up. WWE is going to be hurting without HBK, so it'll be interesting to see how they handle it and who steps up/gets pushed in the coming weeks. |

I agree I would much rather watch HBK in a match than Hogan or Flair, but the reason why I say it was time he hung it up was because all he became was a jobber basically. You do have to respect him for not being such a big headed egotistic like Hogan or Flair and wanting or needing to always win, but I also thought for the stuff he was still bringing to matches he should have had at least one more title reign like 2 years ago or so. It was frustrating seeing him going for the title and probably having more experiance and charisma than the people they were giving it to at the time and he still got screwed and wasn't able to at least have another run with it. Even if it was for like 3 months at least.
The one thing I forgot to mention since it seems like a lot weren't happy with Swagger winning the MITB match. I'm on the same side of the fence as well. I really don't know him that much but from what I have seen from him I can NOT stand the fucker. Always coming down the aisle banging his chest and screaming and through out his matches, god that it so damn annoying! I don't know if it was one of the Raw's before WM26 or during WM that they said Swagger was like "hand picked" by JR or other WWE Exec's and that the "higher ups" or people like that have money on him being the "next big thing"? I could have sworn I heard something like that during one of his matches like I said either before WM on one of the Raw's that I just happened to kind of catch or during the MITB match itself? Obviously that's true as its now clear they're getting ready to shove him down everyone's throat and either make people like or hate him. If there was just one person that I think is the most deserving of a world title run it's Kane. He's like the only "superstar" that's still there continuely getting screwed out of a championship match or number one contender match, or even matches like Money in The Bank, Battle Royals, Royal Rumbles, etc... I think he's more than paid his due's and the reigns he's had have been pathetic. WWE are the one's that ruined Kane (unless it was all his idea to take the mask off and become somewhat of a retard?) and just because they ruined his original gimmick/character should be even more incentive for them to let him have the title for at least 6 months or longer just for him putting up with all the BS they've put him through. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if he were to have quit he would have gotten a much bigger role over at TNA and probably would have held the main title for awhile over there as well. Its a shame though cause I don't think Kane will ever get a true title run. Even if he gets a chance sometime, it's going to be one of those where he has it for like a month or less like how he's had it before. Same kind of goes for Christian. He left the WWE for TNA and became a much bigger and better character single wise and wasn't needing Edge anymore and comes back only to get thrown to ECW. Sure they let him be the ECW champ for some time but that title didn't mean shit. Now ECW portion has been done away with and like Kane he's just another jobber for other people. I swear Vince and or WWE exec's just don't know or realize some of the talent they're wasting and or not giving a shot. They're so high on their own guys they've recruited or gave a good word on that they rather give those guys a major push than the ones that have been there for a long time putting people over and coming in doing shows night in and not out. I'm pretty sure anyone fromhere that still follows wrestling/WWE they could write a better storyline leading into a PPV and having the same one's do a PPV or two to tie up their story lines and pushes that they came up with while they took over. This is just what happens when there's no competition and people are forced to watch this crap and companies dont listen or really care about their fans. I wonder how many fans they've lost that were watching all the time in the late 90's to now? |

I didn't really consider HBK to be a jobber towards the end of his run even though he was usually on the losing end more often than not. A jobber, as far as I'm concerned, is somebody who loses their match and gets totally squashed. They don't get much offense in, if any. Most of HBK's matches have still been memorable and he usually puts up one hell of a fight. Even his matches with Cena for the title a few years ago were good (HBK lost at Mania and then won in an hour long rematch on Raw). He was pretty much notorious throughout his career for basically getting his ass kicked the entire match, but still pulling out the win in the end. But now that's he's a bit older, it doesn't always work that way.

I's like to point out Kane is another one who has refused a title apparently he's happy where he is and he's the one who asked to be used to put others over also he was going to be the one to end the Undertaker's streak years ago (unsure if it was the 1st or 2nd match) and he's the one who said no he didn't want to be the one to end it on the same note at the time Undertaker said he wanted Kane to be the one to end it

Being how long Taker's streak is now, I kind of hope he doesn't go the route of losing it just to "pass the torch" so to speak. Plus if they go that route it would be in their best interest to have someone that has not had a loss at WM as well. Making it a streak vs streak match with of course Taker losing to the younger person, although I would much rather have Taker retiring with an undefeated WM streak and making him that as his own mark he had while being in the WWE. They could always play it up for some other up and coming superstar that stays with them for their career and them trying to get as close if not pass Takers win streak but never actually doing it. Kind of like how everyone is always talking about the Dolphins undefeated season streak with the super bowl win, or the Chicago Bulls 72-10 season, lets hope they keep Undertaker xx - 0 at wrestlemania even when he retires. Hell, knowing Vince he might not let Taker retire with having a perfect undefeated WM streak so might be best to retire before another WM that way he does risk being in the situation where he gets asked to lay down for such and such! lol but in all seriousness I really hope this is one thing they let him keep as his own and hope Taker is keen to that idea as well and not to easy on just letting someone beat him just to "pass the torch". He can do that without having him give up his WM Streak. If he does though (which time after time shows the big stars always goes out losing instead of winning or being on top) then it's probably going to be someone young and has a long future with WWE that they can and hopefully match or pass it down the road. I don't think he'll or the WWE will lose it to someone that has already lost at WM before, so like Orton probably wouldn't be the person to end it (especially now that he's kind of getting a face push/turn it looks like). As much as it sucks and as much as I hate the guy and or his gimmick of him beating his chest and yelling throughout his entrance and his match, I would probably think it would be Jack Swallows (opps, Swagger) lol that will probably be the one to beat Taker in one of the next 2-3 WM. Unless he does something between now and then to piss them off like getting a big head like Orton did right away or doesn't end up getting over with the fans, but I think no matter what they're going to try and shove him down everyones throats whether they like it or not. That just the way it seems like they're already trying to do with him anyways and he doesn't even have that great of a gimmick or anything, at least not in my opinion. |

I think Kane should get at least one good title run before he retires, he deserves it. Been working hard for over thirteen years in the biz.

I think Undertaker's streak will never be broken, if only because it's gonna be like Vince's way of thanking Taker for his dedication throughout the years. When it's all said and done, there's gonna be a ton of guys that will be multiple-time heavyweight champions, so Undertaker will get the streak to further set him apart from everyone else. Really, it might be the ultimate "stat," considering how fucking watered down the belts are now. I mean, John Cena is like a 9 time world champion, and he's only been really working for what, 5 years? Fucking terrible. It used to mean something when Bret Hart had five WWF Championships, or when Ric Flar called himself a 14 (or 18) time World Champion. If they keep passing the belt around like one of Cheech and Chong's joints, Cena's gonna be like a 30 time champion by the time he retires. Terrible.
And if that's true about Kane, that's a pretty classy way to go about things. Kind of sucks that he only got the title that one time for less than 24 hours. If I were him, I would have wanted a title run from Vince to make up for that horrible Issac Yankem gimmick from the 90s.

Cena has been around since 2002 or so but has only been in the WWE Championship/World Heavyweight Championship "division" since around 2004. He's tolerable but I wish they'd stop throwing the belt on him. He can put on a good match when paired with a talented performer. He's had some good matches with Shawn Michaels in the past.
