I agree, if there had been a way to meld the ending we got and the alternate on the dvd, it would've been better. I agree with Zombie that the alternate felt a little too impersonal to the character of Laurie, but I really could've done without the whole "board" sequence.

Totally unnecessary & it brought the movie down even more, which I thought was impossible since I thought it was terrible to begin with.

It only feels that way because it is tacked on.

Zombie's attempt to make the ending more personal for Laurie doesn't move me, because we have practically no time to get to know her in the first place. There's nothing in the characterization that makes me want to give a damn, because all we get to see is her acting like a typical seventeen-year-old brat.

In the scenes with her friend's that's fine, but even when she's not with them there doesn't seem to be anything more to Laurie Strode than the typically clichéd teenage twaddle (I honestly think the last film I saw that tried to portray teenagers as real people rather than as caricatures was Final Destination, and even that had a lot of good character stuff that got cut from film or dropped in the scripting stage).

Has anybody seen the Theatrical cut on DVD in your shops? Around here, they only have the Unrated cut.

TM, I saw the theatrical cut at my local Best Buy last Tuesday.

Added: a quick look at Best Buy's website indicates that all my local stores still have the theatrical cut in stock, too. It shouldn't be that hard to find one if this is any indication.

My mother picked up the Uncut version while at Wal-Mart, then put it back down and picked up the theatrical cut. I'm not sure how that happened, as she had been planning on getting the Uncut version, but at least in my area there are copies of the theatrical cut at Wal-Mart.

I like how when Michael is standing behind Lindsey Wallace, he isn't looking at her, but the TV. He's finishing a movie he started 17 years ago. And if it wasn't for Annie interrupting, he'd probably have watched it all.

That really humanized Myers...in a good way.

Did any of you guys get the one with the Best Buy Limited Edition 3D cover? Mine didn't get it in for some reason. I'd like to get that one.

Calico's scene is on the special features disc. It's the deleted scene called "Very Young", she's the blonde getting Loomis's autograph.

DM, jeans, as of today there were no "theatrical cut" versions to be found at my Best Buy or Circuit City. I wound up picking up the Unrated Cut (I'll get the theatrical when I have 20 to blow) from CC and they had a special disc included. So guess you guys lucked out?

I have a question... what did Not-Myers do to Annie? D'ya think he raped her? Knowing Zombie, I wouldn't put it past him.

Maybe, but McDowell ponders if Myers may've raped a Canary. No orifice, human or beast, is safe in Zombie's world, methinks.

Where's Old-Boo-Radley when you need him?

TM, that's strange that you can't find any copies of the theatrical cut.

Nah, that was just the result of some cheap seed.

I still need to try and find one of the cc copies and a best buy one. I also want to get one of the Hot Topic signed ones but it seems like everyone wants your first 5 children born for one.

I'm still of the view that his family and his surroundings when he's a child is not the cause of why Myers is evil, but rather just a factor in why nobody noticed that he was already deranged, but I do have a question.

This mainly applies to only the people that feel Myer's family and surrounds is the cause of him turning evil. Why would that not work for you considering that Freddy Krueger is nothing more of the same upbringing? His mother was raped by hundred maniacs or so, he grew up in an abusive family as evident with his "dad".

Of course, Mikey doesn't have the title of having 100 maniacs as his supposed dad so there is the difference there. My knowledge on Freddy is somewhat lacking as is my memory, but I can't recall that bit being the sole explanation for his deranged frame of mind.

But Jamie's character in The Fog was really easy wasn't she? Get in my truck and get in my bed - in that order.
