    Default Jeepers Creepers III: Cathedral

I dig The Creeper and want to see a third film (especially the Western idea that was talked about when JC2 came out). This doesn't seem to be a completely sure thing, but I hope it happens.

So here's the deal, coming from three separate sources. Our initial intel was that Salva has been trying to get the studio to let him make the third film, to no avail. He has an idea and has been pushing and pushing. The studios response was "there's no franchise here anymore." What crack are they smoking? I'd rent another 50 JEEPERS CREEPERS films so long as they keep pumping them out.

So cut to today. New sources tipped off B-D that apparently Salva has finally been given the thumbs up and is currently writing the script. The plan is for Salva to produce and for another director to helm the film, but in the end we still might see Victor get behind the camera. We are also informed that the film WILL BE DIRECT-TO-VIDEO.

We have every reason to trust all sources, as they are regular tipsters, but I have yet to confirm that Victor has signed on the dotted line. I pray the answer is yes. Bring on The Creeper.
I also hope the plan will change from DTV to theatrical along the way.

No thanks the first 2 were bad enough(IMO) and I'm sure DTV for it is also gonna mean Sci-Fi pictures original

Has a movie ever changed from DTV to theatrical distribution? I'm asking a serious question; I've never heard of that happening to a movie.

I think I saw the second JC and I don't think I liked it very much, compared to the original. I wonder if the 3rd one has scares lined up or is it just gonna be a modern horror movie. (ie. lacks suspense)

The first one was great and the second one was okay. Frankly, I kinda remember wanting this to be a modern horror super-franchise (ala F13 or NOES) a lot more than Saw (even though that's pretty interesting a concept as well, even if I never much got into the style of the series).

DTV or in theaters, I'd like to see another Creeper story. Minus the psychic exposition, maybe.

The first one was mad entertaining. I liked it a whole lot. The second one was kind of boring, so in the middle of watching it I went into the bedroom with two chicks and made out with them. Of course I'm trying to gloat here, but it also was what happened so cut me some slack.

A third one would be pretty bad ass if they do the western idea. But if this shit goes DTV, then it goes directly to me not seeing it as well.

This series had the best first 20 minutes of an horror movie for a long time.

Then, it went downhill and only the great cinematography and creature/SFX of Part 2 saved the series in my eyes. And the father hunter.

It's just so boring. I don't really want to rewatch the first two (not before a few years, it's already been almost 2 years since the last time) but I'll see a Part 3 for sure.

Just because I love the concept.

I liked the western idea too.

1 was very good. 2 was entertaining.

The only one I remember is Halloween 7 was going DTV until Jamie Lee came along and saved it, becoming H20.

I would accept another Jeepers Creepers if it were written and directed and produced by someone other than Victor Salva.

    Other than that, not interested.

To be honest I heard something about someone who made it what really put me off watching the first 2 I did have the first one up until then but then got rid of it.

Everybody has. I'm not going to stop watching his movies just because of something that happened in real life.

It's not so much that issue, because everyone in Hollywood has their secret demons, I just think I'd like to see someone else's take on the subject.

I do have to say that all the little innuendos sprinkled throughout the films do rub me the wrong way a bit, no pun intended.

Wow, this is the first time (as far as I can recall) that a sequel to a series where the only installments thus far were financially successful #1 hits went straight to video....very odd.

Anyways, I'm about the biggest hardcore fan of both films and The Creeper as a character out there and this has been my most anticipated sequel since 2003, as long as Breck is back as the Creeper, Salvay does the music, and Salva's involved I'm psyched as hell theatrical or DTV, espcecially after Wrong Turn 2 (which imo is superior to the first film, which I really liked) raised the DTV bar very recently.

What he really needs to do is twist it to fit what's successful and if he was clever he could. The Creeper could really work amongst the modern trends. Imagine if they went more into his "art", his stitching together of bodies, his removal of body parts. He carried a victim off in part 1, to his lair beore killing him. Torture porn is in and if this film just leant towards this whilst keeping within it's own mythology then we could possibly have a third cinema released entry.

That wouldn't happen with Salva, since he hates gore; he was even hesitant about doing the decapitation in JC2 because he thought that it was too violent, and by horror standards it was fairly tamed.

Still, it'd be a way in which the Creeper could be successful in the modern environment. It wouldn't change anything, just alter the emphasis. It's actually something I'd like to see, more of the Creeper as an artist, and how he uses human bodies.

I refuse to watch these movies as the director, Victor Salva, is a convicted child molester. Any money you guys spend on these movies, he gets a piece of. And I'm sorry, but there's no way a man who molested a child deserves any sort of enjoyable or comfortable lifestyle. Regardless of if he's done his time or not.

Yeah, I think it could work, if Salva's not at the helm they could go that route.

The first film was a great watch. I'm one of those people that do agree with how after the monster was shown (during the last act), that the film somewhat started to lose something. However, in repeated viewings it's not as bad.

The second film was just a huge miss in my eyes. It took 4 separate viewings to watch it. I finally made it through when it was on SciFi channel and that's when it dawned on me: This film seemed to be nothing more than just a SciFi flick with a slightly higher budget.

As for a third one, I'll probably check it out as I like to give everything a chance, but as for watching it all the way through, well, it better be a step up from the second entry.

The second one was kind of boring, so in the middle of watching it I went into the bedroom with two chicks and made out with them. Of course I'm trying to gloat here, but it also was what happened so cut me some slack.

I hated the first film and found the sequel to be a little better but still pretty bad. I'm not interested in a third film.

That, and H5-H6 were also DTV in the UK, but H20 was released in the cinema.

The first half of the first film is pretty good. Once the Creeper sprouts wings and all that shit, it all goes downhill.

And the second film has little to no redeeming qualities in my eyes--it was basically a borefest, in my opinion (despite an interesting set-up).

Wasn't the 2nd one when the characters were on a bus? That was one was boring, yet one time it aired on USA network and I couldn't stop watching. Stange moments.

That film is indeed Jeepers Creepers II.

I found the first one to simply be okay. The second film IMO was pretty awful. I never really saw The Creeper as being much of a franchise character.

I'm not 100% opposed to a third one, but at the same time if it doesn't happen at all, I'm fine with that.
