I'm not sure if I should count The Valley of Gwangi, but it has a monster and a bodycount so i'm going to list even if it barely scrapes in as a horror.

Count it, brah. Not even all that worried about being a stickler for the 10th anniversary. Let's just have fun with this shit.

So far both of my new watches have been very good. An American Werewolf in London was always a classic that I knew I had to watch but never got around to it. I thought the ending was a bit quick but I was glad I watched it. Had some very funny stuff in it.

It Follows was also very good. Super unique which is really hard to do in this day and age. There were some plotholes I was thinking about when I was watching it but overall I enjoyed it a lot. One thing though: I kept thinking about Chris Jericho saying "IT" throughout the whole movie.

I feel so bad for you Nat. Worst time for something like that to happen. We should get like a fund for Nat to buy a new TV. Get this man a television set damn it!

To read books for work, work on my writing, or watch Bride of Re-Animator?

Oddly enough, I just got Bride of Re-Animator on DVD. Never seen it, but I really enjoyed Re-Animator and I liked Beyond Re-Animator as well, so I always wanted to watch it just for the sake of completion if anything else. Plus, its probably pretty good too .

The Prowler ending...........why? Just cashing in on the jump scares at the end craze?

Hollow. Another found footage flick. The rating on IMDB was 6.8/10

Probably the most boring movie I've ever seen. It's about two young couples who go into the English countryside.... and there isn't much to tell. They visit a crumbled castle and an old church. A dead animal is found. Arguments and drama. Nothing happens. An hour into it, I was wondering when things would start to happen.

After watching the movie, I actually read the reviews and would agree with all of the latter reviewers (real people). The high ratings and reviews are almost all from fake profiles/plants. Stay the hell away from this snooze fest.

    1/10

Anybody find anything new that they love or hate?

I'm honestly not sure if I saw "The Legend of Hell House". If I did, it must have been during an insomniac movie bender.

If you like an old school 80s-style slasher (and who doesn't?), I recommend Fender Bender. This killer can order pizza, cut the power and phone lines, and enter your home in 7 seconds while wearing the cone of silence. A nice, solid throwback horror flick.

Keeper of Darkness is a Chinese, supernatural thriller. There's some drama, love, and comedy mixed into it. One of the few movies I watched so far that I wish was longer. It's my favorite new viewing so far.

Yakuza Holocaust is just crazy. It's vampires, gangsters, and a kung-fu frog master. It doesn't make sense, but it doesn't have to. A decent movie, just as long as you keep an open mind and try not to use logic. Ever.

    Stay away from Hollow. Seriously.

I thought It Follows was pretty awesome. An American Werewolf in London was really good as well. I'm disappointed in myself that it took me this long to watch Bride of Frankenstein cause that's a classic. Bride of Re-Animator is like Beyond Re-Animator to me; not great, but a worthy sequel.

The Gallows had good build up but once it got boring halfway through. The Prowler was also pretty boring even if the gore effects were good. Didn't care about any of the characters.

Horror movies are an acquired taste.

I'm watching the first Jeepers Creepers right now and have to say the movie screams OSCAR in terms of quality, score, pace, acting, um... pretty much everything compared to some of the garbage I've sat through this month. As a child, I must have been fortunate in the family's selection of horror movies. To be fair, IMO, the late 70s/early 80s horror flicks are the pinnacle of the genre. If I was an uninitiated (but we are initiated, aren't we?)... random guy new to horror, I can understand why the general public isn't turning out to view these types of movies (save for the random Blumhouse flick).

Does anybody else watch a movie and wonder.... did I see this before? Viewed 'The Sentinel' a few days back, I felt like I've seen this...right? No. Yes. No...? The plot/story felt familiar, maybe it was something else I've seen. Have I just seen so many damn horror movies, that my puny brain cannot comprehend the differences? It's a little frustrating.

Almost everybody's hit 13, met the challenge, except for one member who's forgetting to post his movies and one more... who may be forgetting to post her movies.

Any new movies you've seen you'd warn others to avoid???

She's not forgetting... She's been busy with other stuff and hasn't had a chance to watch a lot. Unless she hasn't posted the Movie Chat flicks either.

No, but I used an iTunes card to buy the first season of "Scream Queens," and I completely regret it. "Scream" TV is the real deal, IMO.

Modern horror doesn't impress me much.
