Dimension DID own Hellraiser outright, no quesyion, but as I mentioned at the end, the Weinsteins have since split with Disney who owned Dimension, and set up alone. As part of this split they took with them sevceral franchises. Disney is huge and has clout so oculd have stipulated that they ened to use them sot hey get their cut. Now, what four main franchies did the Weinsteins take?

Halloween, Hellraiser, Children of the Corn... and Scream.

What films are suddenly in production by the Weinsteins? Seems likely then that Scream 4 is entriyl being made because of the rights as well, and in fact, if they can't get a big cinema release they may go cheaper. BUT the outcome if this IS the case and they didn't make one? Hellraiser would simply revert to Disney who made all the previous film, only no longer under the Weinsteins.

That said, the remake is still being planned and talked about in articles. Probably still activly developed as well.

Considering what Cameron is capable of I was disappointed in everything about Avatar other than visuals.

BTW, 'Howling' 3, 5 and 6 are being released on Blu-ray by Timeless Media Group. But, they are all crammed on 1 BD. I hope it's a BD-50 and not a BD-25 lol

I haven't seen the original film, but I haven't really enjoyed an Eli Roth film. I tend to enjoy the movies he acts in more than the ones he directs and it's usually not due to his acting that I enjoyed whatever film he was in. Still, out of the films Roth has directed, I've honestly enjoyed his Thanksgiving trailer from Grindhouse the most.
