Just about every country has weighed in with their own zombie film.. except maybe Cuba. But now their time has come according to Variety. With a budget of only $2.7 million they plan to make their entry with Cuban director Alejandro Brugues. Shooting begins in late September in Havana, and is produced by Zanfona's Gervasio Iglesias and 5ta Avenida's Inti Herrera.

The films protaganist played by Cuban thesp Alexis Diaz de Villegas, is a 40-year-old slacker named Juan who notices that people are beginning to turn violent. As a zombie epidemic spreads through Havana, he decides to make a quick buck, offering to slay people's infected relatives. But as the zombie plague reaches national proportions Juan has to concentrate on his survival.

Despite the budget mentioned above apparently it is a huge production for Cuba. It is also mentioned that the film is going to play a little more like a comedy. Brugues told the trades while the pic has political barbs -- when the outbreak begins, the Cuban government dismisses attacks as the work of dissidents on a U.S. payroll -- "Dead" is not political satire.

Synopsis: "Juan is a typical forty-year-old slacker. One day Havana begins to fill up with zombies. Juan decides that the best way to cope with it is to prosper. "Juan of the dead killed their loved ones" is his slogan, and his mission is to help people get rid of those infected around them ... for a price. But the situation gets worse -- while everyone is escaping to sea as a means to get away, Juan is left with no choice but to become a hero, staying to defend his country and protect his own on an island that has turned into a real bloodbath."
Green just began scripting the film—when he has found time between festival and promotional duties for his slasher sequel. “KILLER PIZZA is a dream project,” he says. “Now, I get called in for these bigger studio movies all the time, and that has always been a question for people, like, ‘Why do you keep making these smaller movies, why haven’t you done anything big yet?’ On the big ones, you really get put through such hell, and there hasn’t been anything I’ve believed in enough to go through all that. I’m very, very lucky that I have my own production company [ArieScope Pictures] and I can make my own movies. You know, I’m the son of a gym teacher from Boston, Massachusetts. My family was dirt poor and I had nothing, and now I have my own company and make my own movies?

“So, we made the deal, I’m writing it and at this point it looks like I’ll be directing it—but only when I’m actually on set will I be able to say for sure. I’ve seen so many things just go away for the weirdest reasons. You just never know. But KILLER PIZZA is the one I’ve been holding out for, and I know I’m the right guy for it. And I’ve got the right support, because I’m making it with people who are my friends and who believe in me, and who are going to defend my vision. It’s by far the most exciting thing in my life right now—besides getting married, of course! And when people ask about a HATCHET III, I feel like I want to do this kind of stuff right now. If I can get to a point where I can do a KILLER PIZZA or a Disney movie, and in between I can get to do something I really love like HATCHET III, I’d like to do it that way. It has been very confusing for my agents and lawyers… That’s the other weird thing that happens when you become successful; all of a sudden you have people, which I think is hilarious. You go to these meetings, see everybody sitting there and think, ‘What the f**k do you even do?’ [laughs].”

I was listening to a morning radio show and the topic I heard was one of the DJs sharing two stories of when he blacked out, then asked for people to call in and share their stories. I thought to myself... that's an excellent idea!

I called in to share my story... didn't get on the air, but I did think it'd be a funny topic for those who want to share their stories.

Here's mine...

I'm normally not a heavy drinker, I just on occasion have a cold beer with my pizza/wings/burgers/etc. When the time calls for it, like at parties and such, I let loose.

So it's my bachelor party about two years ago, and my wife doesn't like me drinking because alcoholism runs in my family, so I figured, this is the last night I have to go all out. My best man, Curtis, starts off at TGI Fridays with my friends frm church who don't drink, where we have steaks and appetizers and enjoy eachother's company, then we move on to his house.

Out of respect for my wife, he doesn't hire strippers, but instead rented A Girls Gone Wild dvd and put in on repeat, and posted a bunch of porn up all over the house. There was hoards of different alcohols there.

So I have a pretty high tolerance... I did 3 Jager Bombs and drink about 6 beers with eight people there until more people started to come. 3 more Jager bomb and 2 shots of Tequila later I began to get a little buzzed. By 11pm Mario's making crank calls to pizza places talking in Amsterdanium and what not. (He's from Amsterdam) We crank called our friends and pretended to be terrorsts wanting to bomb them. (Hey, it was funny when we did it). So now it's about 3am and Curtis makes chicken wings and puts on DC vs Mortal Kombat, and we play until about... 4 or so. In between I began drinking different things and things began to get fuzzy.

I remembered saying to my buddy Mario that I'm flat drunk and he's not, and I'm still kicking his ass at DC vs MK. More drinks come, I don't know what they are, but they're just handed to me.

Next thing I remember it's 11am, I wake up non-hung over. (It's my tolerance, I've only been hung over twice in my life, this not being one of them) and go to the bathroom to piss. I go to Curtis' sink to wipe my eyes with water and see a penis magic markered on my cheek. "Okay... I blacked out before my friends... this is what comes to those who pass out before anyone else, I just hope I didn't get dick slapped."

There's no towels in the bathroom, so I use my shirt to dry my face. I glimpse something foreign on my stomach... I lift my shirt up and see I have a bunch of tagging on my chest, stomach, turn around and see "I love dick" written on my back.

I'm mad at first, but again, it was my dumbass fault blacking out and doing what I did, so I just lol'd.

So... I'm bold enough to post my stories... how about you?

Figured it was time to make this thread with the last preseason games this week and the regular season starting in a couple of weeks. My Panthers have been struggling with the offense in preseason. But they've been playing without 3 key players in Jeff Otah, Jonathan Stewart, and Steve Smith. They've also been trying to find a #2 WR opposite Steve Smith. Brandon LaFell looks like the frontrunner, but he has to learn to hold onto the ball when he takes a hit in mid-air. The Defense however, has been stellar with 18 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, and 2 INT's. I remain optimistic.

Are we going to do game picks again this year? I know Utellme usually heads it up, but I haven't seen him post lately.

Okay, if this is a duplicate thread I'm sorry. I tore this place upside down searching. I searched Friday 5, then A New Beginning, went through the first 15 pages of Horror Polls, (found one I haven't voted on and commented), then clicked on Utellme's profile to view all of the poll's he's started, since him and I are the more likely to put together a thread like this...

So if this ends up being a duplicate thread, I'ma be pissed. If not...

Friday The 13th V: A New Beginning

Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers

Nightmare on Elm St 5: The Dream Child

These 3 movies end up being the most chastized of their series'. There's more bad comments coming from the masses on these three films than there are in any other film of their original series (not including remakes/reboots).

Now I know there are some minorites in here who enjoy one of these films, or all three of them, but this question is moreso for the masses. (Minorities feel free to vote as well.)

But if you were sat down by someone and forced to watch the fifth installment to one of these series... which one would you choose? Why? Do you like it or is the other two more shit than the one you chose?

So choose one from the poll and explain why you chose it, if you like it or not, comment on why you chose it.

(For those who already love the three movies, choose the one you like more.)

Now for myself, I enjoy all three, but in the order of F5, H5, N5. So Friday the 13th V is my choice just because I love the movie. I love the characters, I love the humor, it hold more nostalgia than N5 or H5, and characters such as Ethel, Violet, Tina, and Reggie are just so priceless... best characters of the entire series if you ask me.
