The main story in The Elder Scrolls Online will be a solitary experience, game director Matt Firor revealed in a video interview with Game Informer.

"In the Elder Scrolls games you're always the hero, whether you want to be or not," Firor said. "You go out there and you kill the dragons. You kill Mehrunes Dagon in Oblivion. In Morrowind, you're up there fighting the Tribunal - those are huge, global, epic things that you don't want to stand in line to do in an MMO. The last thing you want to do is have the final confrontation with Mehrunes Dagon as he's stomping across the Imperial City, and you see like 15 guys behind you waiting to kill him because they're on the same quest.

"We have a whole part of the game that is 100 per cent solo, which is the main story, where the world focuses on you. You are the hero, everything you do is solo and the world reacts to you that way," Firor said.

Previous details do include PvP matches of up to 200 players, but those are obviously separate from the main quest. The Elder Scrolls Online will be played in a third-person perspective and is attempting to be a "modern" MMO, blending The Elder Scrolls features into this new genre. Not all Elder Scrolls fans are happy with the new title's angle, but Firor said that's just fine.

"The worst situation for a game community to be in is where no one posts on the boards because they don't care," he said. "If they post on the boards, they care, even if they're not being so polite about it. But that's a fact of life: You're an Internet game, you're on the Internet, you have an Internet community. And the Internet community is always very vocal.

"So what you do is learn from it. You make sure you do the best job to deliver the best game that you can and they you go from there."

See this is something my friend and I wanted just for the regular ES since Morrowind. To be able to just do stuff together. I was always a melee/range and he was always a caster/range. To be able to play and do like faction quests. Even if they had just a co-op quest line to two.

This one still has my interest though.

I've only seen "Evan Almighty" once but I feel like I enjoyed it more. I'm a big Jim Carey fan and recently a huge Steve Carell fan. And I'm picking "Evan" keeping in mind that I am not a Jonah Hill fan.
Anyway, please state your case.

Movies are a huge passion of mine. I do love horror but I like most genres as well, which means I watch as many movies as I can, whenever I have the chance.

That got me thinking about my favorite actors/actresses and what makes them good in my opinion. I was talking to Esten about it and got curious thinking what other people think, so I'd love to know which actors you guys like and why.

Some actors play very similar roles all the time, that doesn't mean they're bad. So, what makes an actor good? What makes you believe them? Their ability to always play the same role over and over or how some of them change so much with every movie they're in?

To me it's definitely the latter. A great example is Meryl Streep. She's my favorite. I've seen tons of movies with her and it's crazy how much she can change and pretty much become that character so truly. Her looks, tone, voice, approach to the lines...it's all different.

What about you? What makes an actor good in your opinion?

The film isn’t a two-hander, it’s actually something Sly wrote and Statham will star in. Assumingly it started out as something Sly wrote for himself but passed off to pal and fellow expendable Statham.
For "t3h gr4ph1c5 wh0r35" out there, the next generation of the Unreal engine is in the works. Some of the best looking games of this generation ran on the Unreal 3 engine, so anticipating the next generation is welcome. I'm not looking forward to learning their new editor, though.

If you've loved the look of a big-budget game in the recent years, there's a really good chance that it was built on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3. Titles like Batman: Arkham City to Infinity Blade II all relied on the software suite to create astounding visuals. As good as current-generation Unreal 3 games look, the ones that follow them are going to make them look like kindergarten drawings.

The first look at images created by Unreal 4 show up in a Wired article that features Epic mastermind Tim Sweeney talking about the power he wants to see in the next generation of gaming machines:

As early as last March, Epic was making the case for more power with a demo screened at the 2011 GDC. Called Samaritan and built in Unreal Engine 3 with a new set of specialized plug-ins, the video showcased the rendering power of current high-end hardware, displaying an impressive array of effects, like realistic clothing, lifelike lighting, and highly detailed facial expressions. It took three high-end graphics cards to handle the demand, but it grabbed people's attention. "We used it as an opportunity to make a point to the developers," Sweeney says. "‘We want 10 times more power; here's what we can do with it.

And that was merely for a souped-up version of Unreal 3. For Unreal 4, yet another quantum leap in hardware has to happen. Creating a game that operates on a level of fidelity comparable to human vision, Sweeney says, will require hardware at least 2,000 times as powerful as today's highest-end graphics processors. That kind of super-hi-def experience may be only two or three console generations away, but it hinges on manufacturers moving toward the power levels Sweeney is looking for today. He needs the next generation of consoles to be good.

The article goes on to say that some of what was shown in Epic's Samaritan demo last year--made with a modified Unreal 3 foundation—will be baked into Unreal 4. That includes next-level particle effects that, according to Cliff Bleszinski, "are going to be whored by developers." Nice mouth, Cliff.

This is high up on my "must buy" list. It's a first person stealth game where you play in a non-linear steam punk dystopia. Anyone who knows me knows how appealing that sounds to to this taffer...

Bliss.

Secondly, it's being developed by Harvey Smith and Raf Colantonio, who both worked on Deus Ex, Thief, Arx Fatalis, and Dark Massiah of Might and Magic. The game has an awesome team working on it, which gives me high hopes for the final project.

You play as Corvo, an assassin out for revenge for falsely being accused of killing the Empress, for whom he was the head bodyguard for. He's been granted various magical abilities by an entity called "The Outsider" including possession and stopping time.

Scott Z. Burns has been tapped to work on Fox’s sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Chernin Entertainment is producing.

The project continues the story set forth in last year’s critical and commercial hit movie featuring simians that are given human intelligence and subsequently break out of their facility. At the same time, a virus breaks out that causes the collapse of human society.

The new project is taking the story to the next level, with the apes on the path to emerge as society’s new rulers.

After the movie proved to be a hit, Fox locked up Andy Serkis, who played Caesar, the lead ape, and has director Rupert Wyatt set to return as well.

Original writers Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa also were brought back to write a draft of the sequel.

Burns is well versed in epidemics and breakdowns of society’s orders, having penned Contagion, Steven Soderbergh’s all-star virus thriller that had many hiding under the covers and constantly Purelling their hands.

He also wrote The Informant! and worked on The Bourne Ultimatum and was a producer on the Oscar-winning global-warming documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

The film is a remake of the French film LOVE CRIME, starring Ludivine Sagnier and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Here's a synopsis of the original:

When Christine, a powerful executive (Scott Thomas), brings on a naive young ingénue, Isabelle (Sagnier), as her assistant, she delights in toying with her naivete and teaching her hard lessons in a ruthless professional philosophy. But when the protege's ideas become tempting enough for Christine to pass one as her own, she underestimates Isabelle's ambition and cunning-- and the ground is set for all out war. In this devilish, propulsive thriller, Corneau sets up a the scenery expertly and his actors devour it.

It looks like Repace is taking the Scott Thomas role and McAdams the Sagnier part. Either is cool with me. An erotic thriller with these two lovely ladies and DePalma at the helm is just what the doctor ordered. DePalma seems to fare better in this genre anyway, so he may as well stick with it.

The trailer is set to premiere at Cannes this month, so expect to see that soon, with a release date to follow shortly after.
Been far too long since we've gotten a decent thriller out of De Palma. It's what he does best and he really should stick to them. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.
