This might be a little late into this concert series, but just wondering who all has gone to this event or planning on going?

They came this last week on Tuesday and I was able to go! Also had pretty good seats, right smack dab in the middle. I took a ton of video's from my phone but they came out HORRIBLE! So yea that sucked. However the person I went with her friends had Pit tickets/wristbands and they came during the middle of Manson's show and gave us the bands and stuff and we were able to go down to the pit and was sooo close to Manson and actually got some good pics finally.

Here's a few -

Now as for the concert itself? Wasnt to bad. Bleeding Through was pretty cool, actually got me interested in em so gonna look for their music and see how their cd(s) sounds. Slayer kicked soooo much ass, they were FUCKIN SICK!!! and basically STOLE the show. I say that because they just went through and kicked ass, didn't really BS with the crowd that much and just played some great music/songs...

Then Manson comes out as the headliner and I've only seen him once before about 4-5 years ago when Ozzfest first came here to Albuquerque NM and that's when it was Ozzy (not Sabbath) Korn, Manson, Disturbed, and Black Label Society on the main stage and was just AWESOME main stage and Manson's performance was freakin SICK! He was awesome and if it was basically between him and Korn and if I had to pick only one then probably Manson because I had never seen him live before then and I've seen Korn MANY of times before but they ALWAYS give a kick ass awesome performance...

Well, Manson the 2nd go around was DULL!!! I was sooooo dissapointed in his performance this year and the way the crowd reacted and even the people around us including us just kind of was just standing and doing nothing but watch and or lean back into the seats or even sat down. Defitnitely complete opposite from how everyone was before with Slayer up on stage.. I was headbanging and mini moshing and jumping having a great time in my little area for Slayer, but for Manson I was just like "uhhhhh, what's going on here?" And it was ALL because he decided to play/sing most of his NEW stuff vs his old songs.

Now don't get me wrong, I kind of like his new album a little. There are a few songs I digg and relate to and enjoy, but it's not something I would have wanted to listen/see at a fuckin HEAVY METAL, FUCKIN THRASHING, SUPPOSED "EVIL" FUCKIN CONCERT!!!! I was expecting a freaken KICK ASS performance being he was the headliner AND the fact that for the 45 - 60 mins that he had when he came with Ozzfest he just fuckin tore it up and wasn't even the headliner. So I was expecting an even better performance since he had like 90 mins or so this time around and was coming after Slayer got everyone all hyped and pumped! First thing I noticed was his voice didn't sound that good. He sounded a little "horse" and maybe a little "sick". He would kinda keep going to the back by the drums getting water. He wasn't really running around everwhere, just kinda stayed in the middle and would WALK to the left and right sides every now and then. Maybe it was just the mic/sound? Because the "music/instruments" was kind of louder then his voice so it kind of like overlapped him. Also the stage wasn't all set up like the last time with a bunch of props an shit. I don't recall any dancer's or other performers like half naked chicks like he had the last time, his performance was like "ugh, I HAVE to be here" and didn't seem to really be in it giving his all, so that's why it leads me to believe that he might have been sick or not feeling well.

The one song "Heart Shaped Glasses" was kinda cool cause he had this robot like manniquin girl coming out and he ripped the head off and was singing to it and then ripped off an arm, but what was cool was how it moved and looked almost real. It was was pretty weird but cool lol...

Overall this could have been an awesome show, but IMO Manson fumbled the show, even if he was sick or whatever? It was just his set list that was a poor decision that set up for a poor performance and turned kind of boring.

He still uses that Antichrist Superstar podium and stuff? That's kinda cool I guess. I wish I could've seen him back in the day when he was riding high on Antichrist Superstar and hadn't put out Mechanical Animals yet. Probably would've been a good show, not I just don't care at all.

And I'd say the reason this show felt kinda disappointing is because it's REALLY mis-matched. I don't know what they were thinking.

I love both bands/artists, but I think for the most part Slayer and Manson have completely different crowds, and frankly, I feel sorry for the Manson fans in those crowds, especially in New York, because they are going to get f 'ed up.

Yeah most defitnitely about the different crowds. I was jamming to both, but like the people like around me when we were sitting in the seated area in the middle they just kind of stood there and was watching or sat down but they were jamming all out when Slayer was out. Also the people around me at that time was "older" folks. Like say 30's-50's or so, but when Manson was out, you could tell it was mostly the younger crowd into it, and all the little gothic wannabe emo people.

I think this combo would have been ALOT better had Manson didn't do so much of his new songs and did more of his old stuff then he would have tore it up just as good if not better then Slayer.
