Anybody picking this up for the PS3? Looks good. Wish I could have gotten into the beta. Heard good things from people who played the beta.

So far only played a couple of games but it's a lot of fun. Going to get a lot of time in later.

I may get this tomorrow night or over the weekend. kinda debating the DL version for $20 cheaper of the disc/retail version for $60 that comes with the disc and a bluetooth headset. I could use the headset for my phone mostly, I dont know if I'd use it for gaming. would seem weird to be using a small earpeice when alsways used to the headsets for xbox when playing online.
also being its ONLINE ONLY has me debating also. I like playing online ut sometimes just want to play a single player game so i can pause as needed especially when playing and my kids are home.
choices choices, then we have Madden thata I'm not yet tired of.

I really wish there was some kind of single player for this game. Controls are awkward and having a hard time with this. I don't get this game? Is it supposed to be an air flight game or ground? Do you always start on the ground?
I'm just like 20 mins into it, and trying to get used to the controls and weapons. I'm dying left and right because I dont have a chance to learn anything. I defitnitely won't be getting Socom on the PS3 if it's like this. The one reason I like single player is gives you a chance to kind of practice.
Not bad for a $40 game. Really should have been about $30 though or maybe even $25. I wasn't going to get the $60 after seeing the cheap bluetooth headset. I need one mainly for my phone and if it pairs with the PS3 then I'll just wait till I buy another one as someone stole the one I originally had.
I'm so so with the game mainly because the single player is not there and there is nothing that let's you practice or get the hang of it. If you guys want to play look me up.
ADDED:
ok I have the hang of this game and it is pretty good.
However this is the second time this has happened and it's pissing me off. The game just quits and says Network Error! It drops my whole connection. I've noticed it's happened when I load more then one map, earlier I had a game hosted and it played two games fine. Now getting this crap.
Also for anyone playing how do you find the "Ranked" games? I'm fine with just regular player matches but now I found the manual online and in order to change your charecter and stuff you need to get Ranked game points? Are they the one's in "Blue" in the game list? I thought I saw an option for Ranked games when I first was going through the menus but now can't find anything about Ranked.

Their are matches were it's dogfight only.
Ranked servers are any that don't have the trophy crossed out. Blue servers are SCEA but I have heard not all blue ones are ranked.
You get a ton of customization options when you start leveling up. Go to the community page to see your stats. You can customize your characters and your planes.
A bunch of people have had problems with getting booted off and also some freezing. Only been disconnected once.
You can also change the way you fly by going to control options and changing to proflight to give you more control. Some like it some don't.
Also heard they reset everybody and erased all stats to allow new players to catch up which is BS but oh well.
The biggest problem for me right now is just finding ranked rooms to play in.
Also be careful with team killing as they fuck you good which is a good thing but a lot of the teamkills come from accidents
ADDED:
Just played a 32 player CTF and it was intense. Heard the 24 player TDM on certain maps are just as crazy.

I've only done DM's. I tend to play better alone especially when there's no communication. Sometime I hear someone in my speakers but without a headset it's kind of pointless. I wish Sony came out with something like the 360 and just had a headset that plugged in or came with something with the $600 system. IMO Sony is soooo behind on online play compared to Microsoft. Haven't had no "major" issue's though, but hasn't been the "easiest" either. Also haven't really came across people that I would still like to play again with like on 360 I may add someone after a good session and it's pretty easy to do as well. I only have 1 friend on the PS3 and I can never tell if they are online or not or when the last time they were online.
I do like though, when I play I usually play a good 30 mins. It's tough having both the PS3 and 360 and so very little time.
