View Full Version : What's Your Favorite Fast Food Joint?

I tried to list all the major ones. I included an other, so if you select it, turn us on to what it is. Maybe if I'm ever in a state that has one, I'll check it out and you'll totally prove me wrong.

I'm gonna go with Taco Bell. Nothing says "late night snack" like a Cheesy Gordita Crunch and a Nachos Supreme. KFC is a close second though.

I voted other.

There's this place only 1 or 2 minutes from my house called Babe's Hotdogs. These are REALLY jumbo hotdogs.....the best i've had, IMO. I like the Vienna beef hotdogs, but these are just way better, I think.

I also really like White Castle and McDonald's.

I used to love Taco Bell but I find I get too little for my money there lately. The Pepsi Co is way too greedy and stingy with the food. I mean, would it kill them to put more than a sprinkle of cheese on the taco?

So I voted "other" in favor of Arby's. They send out coupons in the Sunday paper so you can always get a good deal and plenty of food for the buck.

Ever since they opened up a Pepe's near my house, I can't eat at Taco Bell anymore. I used to go there all the time......I loved it back in the day.

They have a ton of In-N-Out Burgers in LA. They're actually really good. I went there a couple of times.

Out of those Taco Bell. I am not really a burger person anymore and I used to love KFC but lately the ones around here have been greasy and fucking disgusting. Besides, there is a Taco Bell one block from the school I work at, and I will usually drop by there once or twice a week and pick up a taco and some nachos.

I haven't gone to taco Bell lately. Maybe they improved their portion sizes. For a while there I was noticing that everything was getting smaller while the prices either remained the same or got bigger. I hate that! So I stopped going.

I used to love KFC but lately the ones around here have been greasy and fucking disgusting

I find that what people often describe as "greasy" suits me. There's a Waffle House right across the street from my apartment. I walk over there a LOT but my roommate refuses to go with me because she says it's too greasy. She'll probably outlive me by ten or fifteen years. But they'll be Waffle-less years! And is that really worth it?

BlakeTyner

Greasy chicken is soooo good sometimes.

God I love the Awful House. I catch all kinds of flack for preferring it over the sludge they serve at IHOP. No, ma'am, just give me two eggs over medium with grits, bacon, and a waffle.

Every once in a while I'll get the Texas cheesesteak with scattered, smothered, covered, but I've never been big on teh hash browns. I never actually had any growing up - I thought grits were simply what you ate with eggs and bacon.

I thought right.

If I'm eating fast food burgers, I go to Burger King. It's just done better. I love KFC over Popeyes. Hell, I just went to KFC and ate in there, rather than take out and ate off the buffet table. Got myself a good heaping helping of mashed potatoes. You take it home and you get a little pissant bowl that barely lasts.

For Mexican food, I perfer a place that not many of you know about. It's called Amigos. What I like about this place is that their burrito wraps are not rubbery. I fucking hate burrito wraps that are like eating a fucking tire. Plus, their meat is tasty and spicy. That's why I don't eat at Taco Bell.

I like Runza as well. Again, a lesser known place. It started in Nebraska, where I live. Best known for it's Runzas, a loose meat sandwich wrapped and sealed within a bun and cooked. I don't eat that, but I love their burgers and fries and onion rings. Their fries have ridges.

I like Long John Silvers, though mainly for their hush puppies. I said god damn, they're good.

Ha! Isn't it great fun to order hash browns at the Waffle House? :D That makes it worth going just so you can say things like, "Give me the hash brows scattered, smothered, diced and chunked." And then you get to hear the waitress yell out your order to the chef. Ah, good times. And I'd prefer a Waffle House burger to anything they give you at Burger King or McDonald's. It's cheaper too! I dunno if the Waffle House is considered "fast food" but if it is, then I guess that's my vote.

Like Hardees' (a.k.a. Carl Jrs.) because their burgers are fucking awesome. Go in and try the 1/3 lb hamburger and you'll agree that they are better than they use to be. Culver's is pretty damn good to, because their burgers, while not juicy, flavorful. Their ice cream (or custard) is pretty good to. I like quizno's subs a lot better than Subway, as well.

I used to agree but I got two bad ones in a row (not cooked) and can't bring myself to order it anymore. :( And they charged me extra for BBQ sauce. Yeah it's only a quarter but I'm on a super tight lunch budget. They couldn't just give me the freakin' sauce?!

But that's okay because Chick-Fil-A makes better chicken sandwiches anyway.

Other: Pal's Sudden Service. It's just a local chain in this region (only 20 stores all within a 70-mile radius), but the food is tasty, the tea is legendary, they use Lawery's Seasoned Salt on the fries, the shakes are good, and since I'm currently employed at one, I get to eat/drink whatever I want for free.

I don't really eat much fast-food anymore. I mostly stick to eating at home, now for some reason besides the occasional trip to Applebee's which is now like my favorite restaurant. But when I eat it I try to go with Burger King. I prefer it to McDonald's, although I eat at McDonald's more than I would like because it's cheap when you're low on cash.

The fast-food preference list:

Burger King
Taco Hell, er, Bell
Wendy's
KFC

McDonald's didn't make the list because it's normally one of those "It's late. I'm almost broke. What's closest 'cause I'm goin' the hell home..." options. Only when I have to or I'm really hungry.

Church's Chicken.

Unfortunately, they don't have one around here. Otherwise, I love Sonic's coney dogs. Other than that, I'm not much of a fan. The last time I ate at Taco Bell I got food poisoning.

I've lived in the south; there's so much more to choose from down there (Captain Ds, Church's chicken, whataburger, etc.). We just got our Sonic and a Long John Silvers a few years back. These 'joints' are common in the south, but you just can't get them up here.

Then again, although we have 4 wal-marts in town, we didn't have one until about 10 years ago. They finally built a Best Buy here about 4 years ago. The northwest is slow when it comes to getting franchises, fast food, retail, or otherwise.

From Wikipedia:

In 1997, CKE Restaurants acquired Hardee's, a restaurant chain with 2,500 locations in the Midwest, Southeast and East Coast regions. Hardee's restaurants are gradually being converted to be more like Carl's Jr. with some of the same menu items and even adopting the same star logo. The chain has also opened at least one restaurant in a former Rally's location in Hollywood with a drive-thru lane, walk-up window and no interior seating. CKE Restaurants has been announced that Hardee's will add all of the same menu items as Carl's Jr. around summer 2008, marking Hardee's to replace the Thickburger campaign with the Charbroiled Burgers name.

Finally had Carl's Jr a few months ago. Can't believe I waited this long.

Ate the 6-dollar bacon and guacomole burger today. It's better than anybody's burgers, including Red Robin IMO. 10/10.

Was in St. Louis last year and finally had White Castle. Average food, at best. If you haven't eaten there, you're not missing anything.

Dollar menus are pretty much dead these days. The Burger King on base used to have 9 or 10 choices on that menu just a couple months ago... now it's only 2 items. You can still get those Jack-in-the-box tacos, 2 for a buck. You know it's bad for you, it isn't really a taco... it's like the shell and beef-like-product are just vessels for maximum cooking oil consumption.

Don't eat as much fast food anymore. Pretty fat right now. It's all my fault, too. :)

I guess he couldn't get past the taste of fresher, higher-quality ingredients. :|

Love Taco Time. Unfortunately they don't ahve a drive through, so I often hit Taco John's instead while on patrol. That and Taco John's potatos taste ebtter.

Definitely Wendy's. Food critics and Zagat's Guide have consistently voted them as the #1 national fast food chain, as well.

Their new fried are higher quality, but at the same time I feel like they lack a bit in flavor. I've found myself just ordering a burger without fried the last few times I've went to Wendy's.

I didnt look through the whole thread, but anyone say In and Out Burger? They are only in Utah and California (and maybe Nevada?). Good food. The Mormom staff at the Utah chain makes you feel like you're back in the 50's in a black and white tv show.

I have a thing for Mexi-fast food, but I fucking despise Taco Bell. It has always tasted like ass. In town here we have alternatives like Taco Johns and Taco Time. They also have a Panchero's where you can have them make you a burrito in a couple minutes.

Man, you need to eat at Amigos. They've got good tasting seasoned meat and I love their burrito wraps.

I've never liked their fries. I'm not a fan of their food, overall. I tried it back in 96-97 and I just can't get into it.

Anymore, I just cannot do Long John Silvers. I've been buying frozen shrimp poppers, hush puppies and fries just to have my own version of LJS. And yes, these hush puppies are better than LJS. Also, less salt which is good for me.
