In Europe, a group of American college athletes unknowingly board a train that will become one deadly ride.

they change the plot around and made it sound like a family film dumb if you ask me but hey im not complaining but they better stick to the R rating for this

If they twist the plot around that much it doesn't really seem like a remake:meh:

Well, let's see. They're trying to cash in on the success of remakes. But really, it's unrelated except the college, and the train, and it's not even called Terror Train, so....yeah, this is no frickin' remake. Thank God.

yeah just a BAD rip off. i love masks i hope the killer will be wearing one

Well, if they're trying to do Terror Train, I hope the killer dons several masks during the film. That was the coolest aspect of the original, in my opinion.

Teaser poster (http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/9992)

A lot of the folks making horror movie posters these days seem to be obsessed with hands/arms.

this seems really ghosty. and even when i read the interview with the directer. he just made it feel like there going to be on the Train on there own and ghosty things happen

Moviehole (http://www.moviehole.net/news/20071114_reader_review_terror_train_scr.html) has a script review/summary. They've gone with a very different, modern trend inspired story for the killings.

I suspect undiscriminating gore hounds will enjoy this, if the effects are top notch. Others will probably find this a bore. I know I did.

I'm actually interested in this for two reasons:

1. Thora Birch. Great actress.

2. While the scripting process started out as a remake, it's actually turned into it's own unique story.

From the trailer...this looks like "Hostel on a Train".

Pass. Think I'll just wait for the next 'train'.

I'm surprised that some sites/people are still referring to this as a "Terror Train" remake.

It originally started off as a Remake, but along the way, they went with their own story, but kept set on a Train.

Their is nothing from the original story in this film, and it does look like a Hostel rip off set on a Train. Plain and Simple.

I'm not going to see it.

Wow, that plot summary sounds horrifically bad. Why exactly would injured or deformed people wait on a train for parts replacement? Doesn't that require delicate reattachment surgery which half the time fails? The premise itself is not only severely compromised by recent films but the rationale for this world existing is also preposterous.

Eh, the original wasn't great but is always entertaining.

So, what's the deal with Train? It wrapped some time ago, didn't it? Any word when it's coming out and whether it will be theatrical?

Coming to DVD (http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/33172/trains-first-and-last-stop-dvd) on November 17th, and getting very negative (http://www.dreadcentral.com/reviews/train-2009) reactions.

Anyone see this? Finally watched it tonight. Its worth seeing once, but not something I'd ever buy or have the urge to watch again. It's exactly Hostel/Turistas on a train.

Lots of sick shit going on in the movie, and it was clear the director was simply trying to jam in every sick thing he could imagine: necrophelia, guys pissing in another guys face, castration, gang rape...yup, it's all there. The director was tryng so hard to be "extreme" that it almost comes off as laughable.

But the effects were excellent and it had a few good moments. Definitely worth a rental, but not a blind purchase, IMO.

Oh and this flick is rated R, and you will not believe the shit they got away with. Some of the stuff does look trimmed, but I'm amazed at what they were able to do. We've come a long way from the days when Jason could not even simply stab a guy without it being cut to pieces...

Netflix had this as "very long wait" forever, and Penhall's above review intrigued me, so i blind bought it. i was not dissapointed, i loved it. Train is basically everything Hostel was hyped up to be but wasn't. horrendous torture and gore that doesn't look fake, better characters, especially Thora Birch, the main big bad Russian guy was a good villain too.

getting very negative (http://www.dreadcentral.com/reviews/train-2009) reactions.

that review is hilarious....

I was also unaware that medicine has developed penile transplant technology either, because heaven forbid a movie that revels in sadism like this not get a chance to castrate a wide awake guy begging for mercy while hanging from hooks. I am sure that if such a procedure had been invented the removing of the penis to be transplanted would require amputation a bit more delicate than lopping it off in a single blow with a big knife as if one were cutting off a sausage link in a hurry.
it's a horror movie, not a medical documentary. that's like watching F13 and saying "i find it hard to believe a guy could take that much abuse and continue to still be alive for 12 movies."

it's a great movie if you like sick shit filled horror flicks, and i do.

Well, I finally watched this last night and it was exactly what I thought it was: Hostel on a train. I have to say that I was entertained though.

Hmm... since it's no longer a remake of Terror Train, I have to say that it does sound interesting. Unlike SAW or HOSTEL, the story actually sounds kind of cool. Much better than "kidnapped people who need a life lesson.... by being forced to pull their own innards out through their anuses, lest they have a machine forcibly rip their eyes out with hooks." Yeah, would be a nice scene, but a whole movie based on nothing but that unbelievable premise? At least shameless gore movies like Violent Shit don't take themselves sseriously....

But I have to say, this sounds kind of interesting:

"Even suspension of disbelief cannot make you believe one can receive an eye transplant and already have their bandages off in only a few short hours. But then not doing so would have denied us the cheap scene when Thora Birch recognizes a friend's eyes looking back at her."

Cool.

EDIT: If the gore in this is NOT CGI, then my interest will have increased 1,000 %.
