This is long overdue, and since he's my favorite actor let's discuss him here.
Discuss his most known movies; Willard, Back To The Future, Charlie's Angels 1 and 2 & of course Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter.
We can also discuss his upcoming movies like Wizard Of Gore, I Scream Man, Simon Says and his classics like Little Noises, River's Edge, At Close Range, Fast Sofa and so on.

Crispin is a creepy guy. He's great in The Final Chapter and Back to the Future, and I think his performance in Willard is underrated, but the guy gives me the wiggins. He's very strange.
Great thread scabboy! He was great in Back To The Future and funny as hell. I also thought that the character of Jimbo is among my favorites of the whole Friday The 13th series. I am really looking forward to a few of the upcoming horror films he will be in, namely The Wizard Of Gore remake.

He was actually only in the first Back to the Future. He wanted as much money as Michael J Fox. Personally I think he's very overated
From IMDB.
Crispin Glover played George McFly in Back to the Future (1985), but was replaced by Jeffrey Weissman in Part II. Weissman was made up to look like Glover so that this film could incorporate excerpts from the original. All shots of Weissman are either from the back, at an angle, or with Sunglasses so that the audience wouldn't notice that it is a different actor.

Crispin said in an interview that he wanted more money than he was offered, not as much and MJ Fox. He was being offered more money for a starring role in another film, so he took hat other film over BTTF2 since it was more pay and a starring role.
But that is from Crispin's mouth, he said "I was simply offered a better deal.."
He did sue because they used his likeness in BTTF2- without his permission- and won.

On the DVD commentary for the films, Zemeckis says that Crispin's asking price for returning was ridiculously high (I believe he wanted more for a supporting role than Michael J. Fox was making as the lead, and at the time Crispin was nowhere near high profile enough to justify that kind of price.)

Perhaps he asked for more because he was offered more money for another role? I'd do the same. Obviously the movie he starred in didn't do as well, but Crispin had full creative control so I'm sure that meant more to him.
But, I am sure the truth lies in between what Zemeckis and Glover has said.

I think Glover is way to overrated. Sure he was kinda funny in F13th, but he's never really done anything that makes him like a stand out person even with a cult status. I remember when this (F13th Forums/Community) was all hyping his return in Willard and making such a big deal, when I went to watch it on cable it was sooooo boring that I never finished it. Not even his role in BTTF seemed all that great.

Not to take this conversation onto a tangent...but...
Did we ever get to see the footage of Eric Stoltz as Marty? I know there are a couple of shots of him in the movie, but they were pretty far-off driving shots. I haven't seen the DVDs so please pardon my ignorance.

They were planning on including the Stoltz footage on the DVD box set, but they couldn't clear it with Stoltz's people. The footage still exists -- and I think it was even made ready for the DVD set -- but it's unlikely to ever be made commercially available.

Willard is one of my favorite Glover movies.
His weirdness has paid off in his career. Either he pulls it off brilliantly or he is, indeed, flippin' weird.

I thought Willard was extemely boring R.Lee Ermey was the only decent thing about it

You know, I wouldn't consider Crispin overrated. He's a really low-profile/low-rent actor. His acting ability is just that and I never hear anyone call him Harrison Ford material.
I liked him ever since I saw him in River's Edge, his role of Layne in that movie was one of the best roles he's ever done. But, more importantly I am a fan of his "books". I use books loosely because his books are old public domain books that he re-writes into twisted stories.

I wouldn't consider him overrated either, at least not in the traditional sense. Some genre fans hold him in higher regard than might appeal to other genre fans, but I don't think that makes him overrated.
It's the same with Brad Dourif. The man is a genre god as far as I'm concerned -- and he's criminally ignored by the mainstream -- but I wouldn't say my feelings for him make him overrated.

I've always liked him. Jimbo is my favorite F13th character....and I really think Crispin Glover is a nice actor...I've enjoyed his performances throughout the years.

I can't believe we've made it this far into the discussion without this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dYjdKbMT_c) being brought up yet.

Crispin says that Letterman thing was a publicity stunt for his film Rubin & Ed. He said he was just in character and Letterman knew something would happen, but it was a surprise as to what.

I loved his performance in Willard. I wish I could see the film (or films?) he directed. And I didn't know that he wrote books. Are they any good? I also have not seen River's Edge -- I'll have to check that out as well.

The one movie he directed hasn't been released and he has stated that he doesn't know when it will be. It's purely his choice.
River's Edge is definitely suggested. One of my all-time favorite movies and it stars Daniel Roebuck, KEanu Reeves, Ione Skye, Dennis Hopper, Leo Rossi and Josh Miller.

Tom Green hosts an internet talk show out of his living room. Pal Crispin Glover recently dropped by to talk about past and current projects. No mention of F13 that I heard, but still an interesting hour.

His funky dance in F13 The Final Chapter does it for me. I love him in Back To The Future, but to me the dance is the highlight. Haha.

Well, if it wasn't do you think Letterman would have had him back 4 other times?
I still say it was.... In Ruben & Ed Rubin liked kicking people with his collasal shoes. Crispin was in character as Rubin on that Letterman show with his wig, pants, shirt, glasses and shoes. It seems to me that it was a publicity stunt.

No disrespect to Johnny Depp, but seeing that pic makes me think that movie would have been better with Mr. Glover as Willy Wonka.
