CM Punk vs Marcus Cor Von should be a good match this week on ECW.
but,
I might skip ECW, just because I'm not ready to see
Big Daddy V without his shirt again.

So Johnny Nitro is "John Morrison" now? I guess it fits, since his haircut makes him look like Jim Morrison. But Johnny Nitro was a catchy name. Why change it?

I liked the name Johnny Nitro, it was quick and easy to say.
Usually a wrestler changes his gimmick when his current one isn't working.
Whatever.

For those wondering what CM Punk was going to say in response to Johnny's question

Well I don't know:D but I do know that C.M Punk stands for Chick Magnet Punk going back to his very early days and I mean very early he was a back yarder before he went to wrestling school

anyway when he back yarded he was in a tag team called The Chick Magnets with C.M Venom

and judging by the pics I put up in the funny picture thread the name fits

It's about damn time. C.M. Punk deserved the title long ago, if you ask me. I'm really happy for him.

Glad CM Punk got the title but I would say Morrison was a great champ. He knows what he is doing in the ring and great mic skills. But CM has shown he can perform as well. Did not know he was a backyard wrestler. Can't say I would have seen that either, most backyarders seem to like the cult status it has. Still glad the belt has been going to deserving people. Still miss the ECW from yesteryear

The Dark Vampire

While I'm extremely happy that C.M Punk got the title I'm kinda disappointed he's only got it because Morrison/Nitro was busted for drugs

Don't get me wrong I'm 100% sure he was going to win it sooner or later and sooner rather than later it's doubtful the plan was for him to win it at a TV taping

While he was supposed to win at Summerslam plans were changed because WWE felt so many people thought it was such a sure thing ( face it we all thought there no no chnace in hell he was going to lose) they wanted to swerve us.

It doubly sad to think the only reason Morrison/Nitro won is because of the Benoit tragedy

freako104
09-02-2007, 05:36 PM
I would rather he won it not based on drugs but because it wouldpush a storyline or rivalry. It could also allow Punk to show what he can do in the ring with the title. Morrison deserved it as well. But not due to Benoit but because he is great in the ring

Every time someone mentions John Morrison, I'm reminded of how much I miss Joey Mercury. I never was a fan of Nitro/Morrison, but I was a big fan of Mercury. I think he was a very talented guy.

Apparently, he's a trainer at OVW now or something? Can someone confirm that? I hope to see him back in the ring (somewhere) soon.

I always felt that Nitro had far more wrestling talent than Mercury.

Does anyone know if Mercury talks good on the mic (I can't remember him talking much)? If so he might be back one day as a good guy feuding with Morrison. If not they'd probably bring him back as Morrison's lackey, man I hate lackeys.

Joey Mercury is helping out the training of the members of the Derby City Wrestling school (which is the developmental of OVW). I think he trains the beginners class.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE will be expanding the ECW roster by calling up some developmental talenCredit>Gerweck.net

I wouldn't mind seeing Colt Cabana & Ace Steel get called up to reform The Second City Saints with C.M Punk (or as heels to feud with Punk)

Also they should bring Burchill back up to the main roster I think ECW could fit him he could main event there whereasif her was on Raw or SD he would just be lower middle card but this way he could work his way up and when he moves up to Raw/SD he could of established himself as at least upper middle card who could work ME matches.

Burchill was my favorite guy in 2005. I've just done a bit of reading up. It turns out he left in 2006 because he needed knee surgery, and because Vince thought his Pirate gimmick was stupid (I actually liked it, god help me). Apparently, Burchill was involved in a dark match during SmackDown! in July and August of this year. Maybe we'll see him back before too long.

I absolutely adore the C-4.

I met his old manger from when he was in FWA 2 weeks ago.

He also worked Raw dark matches a few weeks ago when they were on tour he teamed with Dave Taylor.

Also the pirate gimmick was cool as they didn't try to pretended he was a real pirate just a guy who was a bit weired as he liked dressing up as one

Just Jeans
10-02-2007, 03:13 AM
Vince wanted the gimmick changed because he thought that Burchill should be a "real" pirate or have a completely different gimmick. :shifty: I liked the fact that Burchill just fancied dressing as a pirate as opposed to being a "real" pirate.

freako104

Sci-Fi has added ECW to it's schedule for the final week of December. ECW will air on Thursday, December 27th at 10 PM (no show on Tuesday, December 25th).

This means that ECW will go head-to-head with TNA Impact twice that month (December 6th & 27th).

Former ECW Champion, John Morrison won the right to face off against CM Punk next week on ECW on Sci-Fi for the ECW Championship title. Morrison won the opportunity to wrestle for the title by defeating The Miz on ECW on Sci-Fi tonight.

Several weeks ago, it was reported that once John Morrison made his return the ECW championship title would be going back to him. John Morrison had to drop the ECW title to serve his 30 day suspension for violating the Wellness policy.

Should be a decent match-up.

From WZ (http://www.wrestlezone.com/article.php?articleid=197078500):

In case you haven't noticed, ECW star Kevin Thorn hasn't appeared on television in several weeks. His last appearance took place five weeks ago on 10/9 in a match with developmental talent K.C. James, who was working under the name James Curtis. If you recall, that was the match where Thorn botched a move at the end of the match. He is getting punished for that because he could have severely injured James with the botch. Furthermore, Thorn is said to have a bad attitude, not to mention that his matches often receive lukewarm reactions from the crowd, and that's why you haven't been seeing him on television as of late.

Easy, Kane moves to the beat of his own drummer. If he decides that he wants to go after the ECW title that's what he's going to do. Hell, that's the way it should be with everyone. Even though this is a scripted show, it's supposed to be portraying a competative sport, so let the athletes compete with eachother.

I think putting Christian on ECW was a good move. It'll re-establish him without him getting lost in the shuffle on Raw & Smackdown, which may not be hard to do considering he got a good pop last night. Plus, ECW needs a top face since Matt Hardy turned heel & went to Smackdown. I like Finlay a lot but he's really boring as a face & works better as a heel. I think we're going to see Swagger & Christian go at it at Wrestlemania. Should be a decent match. And I'm sure we'll see Christian make appearances on the other two shows as well. The Miz, Morrison, Mark Henry, etc. appear on Raw & Smackdown from time to time...especially The Miz & Morrison. I'm just glad to see Christian back & wrestling. He's my favourite active wrestler.

DedKid

I'm glad Christian's finally back, and I agree that putting him on ECW is the next best thing they could've done since they didn't throw him in the Hardyz/Edge mix. I think he'll score the title off Swagger before too long. And since ECW mostly travels with RAW these days, it's more likely we'll see him guest spot on there before we see him show up on Smackdown. That, however, has got to be inevitable at some point in the not so distant future though :)

You think Christian will have a match at WM for the title, after the "fiasco" this week? I have to be honest, I didn't expect Swagger to retain with such a clean victory. And I don't like Christian's chances to success so far. Guess Vince really, hm, don't like him.
But - helluva match. I think it would fit perfectly for a PPV. Lately (like from six months) ECW has turned into really watchable and entertaining wrestling show. I like it even more than the iMPACT! Maybe because it's so short. :D

I'd like to see those two get a match at 'Mania, especially if they'd get about 20 minutes or more to go all out & give us a great match like they did the other day.

I wouldn't write Christian off yet. He's only been back for three matches. I think they're trying to establish him & so far he's been getting pretty good reactions. Perhaps he'll get drafted to Raw or Smackdown during the next WWE Draft. If he gets drafted to either show, I hope they use him correctly. He can put on a great match & is a great talker.

Not sure about that draft dude, it has been listed for the second RAW after Mania... Than again, it will be eden Swagger or Christian to get the "boost", but as far as I see the things, Swagger is getting really big push so far. And he's younger. And Vince don't like Christian. Smeging hell why oh why must Chrisitan keep jobbing I know he won MITB qualifying match but he's jobbed in about 95% of his matches since he came back

I was happy he was back in WWE but now I wish he would of stayed in TNA I did read it is a punishment for going to TNA as well as Chrisitan apparently told WWE he wasn't going to go and showed up 2 weeks later.

If it was possible and I was Christian I would of just signed say a 1 year contract to see how I was used in that year but with WWE I'm guessing it will be 3 years min perhaps 5

I keep reading how Vince never was & still is not high on Christian, that he doesn't think he's got the look or gimmick for a main eventer & it took some major lobbying from creative to get him in MITB. I'm sorry to say, but considering those circumstances, I doubt we can expect him to achieve any higher than the ECW belt. Now, if Vince actually read the stuff on the 'net (he knows spoilers leak out here, but that would appear to be about it), he'd have Christian win the MITB, drafted to RAW, and let the rest be, as they say, history.....

Did anyone else think that Christian vs. Tyson Kidd on Tuesday was a hell of a match? It was one of the best matches I've seen on ECW. Well...WWECW.

ECW always delivers at least one high class match at week, so no surprise here. I wonder if the Hart Dynasty will get a bigger push. I read from the company are totally surprised and pleased with the reactions they are getting. Also, I liked how they left Tyson Kidd to be more offensive, hope will not make him and Davey like ALL of the chicken shit heels in WWE.

But hands down - Swagger is my man in this brand.

Damn. Goldust is like in the best shape of his life and all he can do now is jobbing to anything that moves. That makes me a bit sad, you know.

Also, this Ezekiel is just awful. He can't even move in the ring. Pity he will most likely squash Kozlov (called "communist" bq Striker last night, give me a break!). The big russian is one of the big guys I like nowadays in WWE, but after Triple Squasher sabotaged their match a while ago he is like in the doghouse.

Actually, it wasn't because of Triple H per say. For some reason, Vince or the booking committe had decided that Kozlov needed more development time. Which is why they've pushed him down like they have. I think they were worried about him becoming another Goldberg.

I'm really impressed by Jack Swagger..That boy can wrestle! :-)

I seriously hope Vince can do something more with Kozlov. He really needs some better finishers and a good submission move. Now he's just Generic Big Guy # 2.

Also, anyone else think Kozlov looks a lot like Sam the Bald Eagle from the Muppets?:D
