Anybody else seen this movie?

Love it.

I have it on VHS and DVD. Some things of the movie are just so ridiculously cheesy/bad, but it just adds to the film.

Yeah, the acting is pretty awful except for the main character. Something I also noticed was that most of the characters in the movie really had no relevance to the film. But overall, it was watchable. Luckily, I only paid $7.99.

Hmm..I wanna check this out, it sounds like something I'd like.

This is a super cheesy slasher alright.I like the guys character whos hitting on the red headed girl and cheating on his girlfriend. The main teacher is the only good actress.Fun film!!

I never expect award winning performances from these movies.

I love the scene where the people are sitting on a sofa (I think) and someone pops in the window for a cheap scare. The one dude screams like a little girl, and it's so awful- obviously fake. I always laugh at that part.

I saw that one on the trailer. It was so poor, yet so hilarious. Wasn't it called the scariest film of 1984 by someone? Hehe,

I haven't been able to find this movie, even in the used video store bins. I will have to double my efforts.

Is this out-of-print?

Man, Splatter University is really bad......but I still enjoy it, lol. :)

It really doesn't know whether it wants to be a horror movie or a comedy......for me, it's clearly a comedy. The gore was the best part for me. The extremely shakey camera in some scenes was really funny.

I just bought this film yesterday and thought it was great. I loved that the typical survivor girl...didnt survive!

For those of you who live in NYC, Kims on St.Marks has a wall full of slasher flicks at good prices.

It was a bit boring in some parts for me but overall I enjoyed it.

I recognized one of the guys since he was also in I Was a Teenage Zombie, another so bad that it's good flick.

Though I've never seen this film i think the title sounds really fun.

It's really not great. I love it for it's shittiness, if that makes sense.

As for I Was A Teenage Zombie, The one SFX creator also worked on Street Trash, which is awesome in my book.

Street Trash is a film that you seem to mention a fair bit on this website mate.

I'll have to make plans to see this film...it sounds pretty amusing.

I think it's amazing... funny, gory, and sorta sick.

There's a guy in the movie, and at the end he gets killed by the mom and in the end credits there's a funny ass song about their confrontation. I think that's one of the highlights of the movie right there!

Street Trash is great!

I'm trying to remember something from Splatter University. Don't know if this is 100% accurate but didn't a girl get her forehead slit then have her body dumped in a dumpster?

I used to think it was a sequel to Slaughter High before I realized that it came out before SH...and is completely unrelated to it.

sCabbOy
02-03-2008, 05:08 PM
I think it was marketed as a sequel in Europe, or maybe I am confusing it with Cutting Class. (I am)

I think Retro Slashers has the DVD covers.
Slaughter High
Slaughter High 2: Cutting Class and
Slaughter High 3: Terror Train.

Weird shit, huh?

nottidelterrore
02-03-2008, 06:11 PM
I'm pretty sure Cutting Class was marketed as a sequel to Slaughter High. I remember hearing about it somewhere. Perhaps on Retro Slashers....yeah that's more than likely it. I'll check on it later.

I think it may say something on IMDB as well although there are a lot of things on that site that aren't true.

There are fake entries, like Cheerleader Camp 2 (not Camp Fear), Slaughterhouse 2 and Summerhouse Slaughter.

After reading all of your comments and seeing the cover art on the DVD, I have to get this. I love these kinds of movies...lol.

Is the DVD in WideScreen? I see on eBay, some listings have it listed as 1.85 and some say fullscreen.

I don't remember if it's widescreen, if I were home I'd go and check. I'd say it's fullframe if my memory serves me right.

I watched this last night. I thought it was excellent. It was also a little bit more bloody than I thought it would be.

Jason_Legend

I rented it in the late 90's. I probably never would've bothered when it, if it wern't for Scream 2.

I remembered almost nothing about it, except the ending.

Ron
06-30-2009, 02:38 PM
It was very predictable, but still a very solid slasher.I actually didn't think the acting was as bad as some have said. A bit hammy at times, but that's to be expected with this type of film.

Joshg
03-10-2010, 07:21 AM
It was really cheesy, but I enjoyed it. It had a lot going for it, despite some slow scenes. I mean, there are people who list this on their bottom 5 slasher flicks of all time. >.> It's bad, but not even close to THAT bad. Hell, I'd give Splatter U. the edge over even Graduation Day!

WesReviews
03-10-2010, 02:28 PM
Never been a fan of this one. Just too dull to maintain my interest, and I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to early 80s slashers. I will say that it's moderately better than Scream (The Outing) but of course, that's not saying a whole lot.

S.U. over Graduation Day? No way! Everybody want to be the winn-ah!!! Graduation Day is so much fun! The killer timing the kills with a stopwatch... crossing off victim's faces in a pic with lipstick... FOOTBALL SPEAR... Graduation Day is a good time. I can't even tell you much of what happened in Splatter University because it wasn't very memorable, IMO.

Killed by the mom? Scab, I don't remember that at all in Street Trash....

But yeah, I love that song. "So lemme take a drink of your booze... oh what's this, I'm startin' to OOZE! Oooh, you little fuckin' freak.... before this day.. we did things.. MY WAY!!!!!" :D

That's an excellent deal Patrick!! It usually goes for 50+. Rare OOP shit only belongs to absurd sellers. Haha,
Luckily I got it for a total of $65 when I bought it with 9 other movies. So basically, I got it for $6.50. Yay!

nottidelterrore

I wasn't even aware that this was OOP. I got my copy from an FYE for like $9 brand new. They had to special order it for me.

Cheapest used copies are floating around Amazon for about $26 right now.

Heh, the first time I watched this movie, the R-rated VHS was back in 2004 and I remember fucking HATING IT. I dunno what exactly it was that made me do so, I had been into the film, then the end credits rolled and then I just thought "Wow, that was fuckin' awful."

It took many years for me to like it, and I only kinda like it now. I will say the opening is very cool, but the movie is kinda boring aside froma few cool gore scenes.
