We have a thread for snacks we miss... sodas we like... so how about chewing gum.
Right now, I pretty much like any of the Strides. I used to love Orbit, but for some reason, lately, they seem to lose their flavor a lot quicker. Either that, or I'm used to Stride and Extra, which keep their flavor longer (and in comparison, Orbit may seem to lose it sooner). Who knows.
I rarely chew bubble gum these days, but Bubblicious Grape is still pretty awesome for about 15-20 minutes.
And I am also guilty of picking up a pouch of Big League Chew occasionally, just for old time sake.
What kind of gum do you guys like? Any new flavors you want to try?

I've always been a fan of Bubble Yum in the classic bubble gum flavor. Big League Chew is also good, and so is Fruit Stripe Gum.

Loved Fruit Stripe as a kid, but the thing with it (even after they changed the formula to be more "long lasting") it still loses its flavor way too quickly.
But for about 10 minutes, it's some of the best gum you've ever tried.
I'm not sure who made it back in the day (Bubble Yum, Bubblicious, or Hubba Bubba) but someone back in the day made an orange gum that was amazing. Just a plain, orange gum. That stuff was awesome.
Mmm... Juicy Fruit.
My grandfather always chewed Juicy Fruit, so I got nostalgic and started chewing it regularly a few years ago. This coincided with me finally getting around to getting my driver's license, and chewing helped my nerves while practicing, so the two activities got intertwined. I don't drive without my Juicy Fruit.

Spearmint or Big League Chew. All the rest can take a hike.

I've always liked cinnamon gum as well. Big Red is probably the best, but for a while there, I liked Cinnaburst as well. I wonder why they quit making it.
I remember the old rumors that you could chew the paper the sticks were wrapped in because they were allegedly dissipated in your mouth.

That idea (and it pops up on various gums from time to time) just seems gross and lazy to me. But mostly gross.

Speaking of gross and lazy, I heard a couple people talking about gum, and the question came up of what they do when they're finished with it. Both: they usually just swallow it.
This disturbs me. I would never purposely swallow my chewing gum.

I think it is Stride that is making a new Vitality themed gum. They have a citrus with strawberry splash that is tasty. I also really like the red fruit Mentos gum.

I'll probably pass on those. I think the funky new flavors of "5" are pretty nasty. Taste like Vick's Vap-o-Rub made into gum form.
And yeah, I've swallowed gum before. Not a huge deal.
This one time, I couldn't help but swallow it. I was in the eye doc's office and was chewing some Extra or some other kind of sugar-free gum and had been chewing it for a couple of hours. All of a sudden, the gum started breaking up into tiny bits in my mouth. Wouldn't stay together at all no matter how hard I tried, so I finally swallowed it. I later found out this happens with sugar-free gum when you chew it for too long.
I seen "Rockstar: Caffeinated Energy Gum" in the store today. Didn't pick any up... I thought it was fuckin' strange.
