...in which our heroes converse about the mundane, the insane, and the hindbrain.
Once again, this is the thread to just flat out chat. Everyone is welcome, so just join right in. As a reminder, posts here (and in the lists and games section at large) do not count toward post count, but there are generally some pretty interesting goings on going on.
~Blake
I like this, kind of like a flooded random thoughts :p
The Dream Master

And the funny thing is, we actually have a chat room, but it's always dead.
One month in and already up to pt.3. There'll at least be a part 36 by this time next year.
BlakeTyner
08-15-2007, 06:55 AM
Yeah, I've been letting them go to about 20 pages, when really we could just let them keep going. I just know that on other boards, if there's a thread with like 53 pages I skip over it, because I figure "I'm not going to read every post to get caught up, so the hell with it."
This way it's not quite so intimidating for new recruits to come in. I don't know if I'll stick to 20 pages (so far it's just been blind luck that I've come in at page 20) but it's' kinda neat to have sequels. ;)

Well....I'm gonna go try and get some sleep now. It's 3am here now.
Goodnight everyone....Blakey, one day you're gonna stop running away from me.................soon. ;)
(INF btw)

What is more appropriate than a friday the 13th board if you are gonna have a shitload of sequels?:D
ADDED:
G'night girly. I'm outtie as well, laterz everyone
There sure are alot of ants in my house. Fuck, do I hate ants....well at least when they are inside and annoying the fuck out of me. I think my dad, mom or aunt spilled something sugary under my desk or something without telling me, because there sure seems to be a lot of them heading for this one spot.

I'm starting to get a little hungry...I actually forgot to have lunch today.
aerokissfloyd
08-16-2007, 12:19 AM
Ha ha. Really? Well, the lunch I had today wasn't as bad as it usually is. It was pretty good for school food.
I'm probably gonna get jumped. Some people are after me for some stupid shit and they're more than likely going to ask people to jump me so... ha ha. I'm gonna have to learn to fight. :p
girlychaos
08-16-2007, 12:33 AM
That doesn't sound good... :(
aerokissfloyd
08-16-2007, 12:37 AM
Meh. I'm ready to take on them anyway. I'm not going down without a fight.
girlychaos
08-16-2007, 12:41 AM
But....what happened?
aerokissfloyd
08-16-2007, 12:43 AM
They think I did something I didn't do, and now they're trying to get people to stop liking me and stuff... so, I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of people tried to start something with me.
girlychaos
08-16-2007, 12:46 AM
And you didn't even do what they think you did....that's just unfair.

Yep. Ha ha. Oh well. Anybody here have any tips for defeating multiple opponents in a fight?
BlakeTyner
08-16-2007, 12:55 AM
Yep. Ha ha. Oh well. Anybody here have any tips for defeating multiple opponents in a fight?
Yup.
Don't fight.
(That's not me being snarky, that's just the way it is. If they jump you, and you can't retreat, do your best: go for testicles, eyes, and throats. Carry a ball-point pen at all times. If it's legal where you are, carry a folding knife or pepper spray. But unless you've been trained and drilled in hand to hand combat against multiple adversaries, you're probably going to get your ass whipped.)
~Blake
aerokissfloyd
08-16-2007, 12:59 AM
Yep. That's what I thought. Ha ha.
Good idea. If I can't run however... then I'm screwed.
BlakeTyner
08-16-2007, 01:06 AM
I'm a small-framed guy, and I've been in my share of fights (and taken my fair share of ass-whippings, too.)
One thing my father taught me that is true is this: do your best to pop him in the nose. Most people lose their inclination to fight when they're bleeding like a stuck pig. And, in the case of bullies, the next time they'll think: Yeah, I can whip his ass, but I'll probably get a bloody nose for my troubles. Most times, they'll find someone they can dominate without the risk of getting hurt.
I hope everything turns out okay, though.
~Blake
aerokissfloyd
08-16-2007, 01:07 AM
Yeah. Me too. Funny thing is, these people used to be my friends, and now they hate me.
Thanks Blake.

akf: I hope it doesn't come to that at all!
Blakey: OMG!

BlakeTyner
08-16-2007, 01:13 AM
I'm assuming you're still relatively young, right? High school aged?
In one way, that's the most awesome time to be alive - you're young, don't have (many) real-world troubles, etc. But at the same time, it's the most ridiculous time, because everyone around you is still caught up in that clique mentality. I think you'll be okay, though. Out of all the times in my youth that people made threats like that, they usually didn't follow through on them.
Not much else I can tell you, except to not let them make you afraid to leave the house. The mentality you've got to have is "fuck 'em." In a few years they'll be managing the local Wal-Mart or McDonald's, anyway. ;)
~Blake
girlychaos
08-16-2007, 01:20 AM
The worst thing about being that young is not having the "let's talk this through" possibility, akf.
But I truly hope they will realize you haven't done what they think you have and things will go back to normal.
aerokissfloyd
08-16-2007, 01:44 AM
Yeah. Ha ha. I hope so. Cause here they're rough on fighting. Not only the kids, but the adults as well. You go to jail if you fight. I'm sure it's the same way everywhere else.

08-16-2007, 02:06 AM

How are you doing tonight, DM?
The Dream Master
08-16-2007, 03:11 AM
I'm alright, a bit tired considering I was up until 4 am and had to get up at 8.
And yourself?
girlychaos
08-16-2007, 03:20 AM
Tired...yeah, I'm getting used to having around 3 hours sleep and that isn't doing me any good, you know?
I'm also bored, and there's a lot going on in my mind lately....other than that, everything is just peachy!! :)
Thanks for asking...hey, when are you graduating?
The Dream Master
08-16-2007, 03:21 AM
I should be done with all my Master's work in December, and then I'm going to get certified to teach next semester. So I guess I'll be graduating in May, but all the hard stuff will be done by December if all goes well.
girlychaos
08-16-2007, 03:29 AM
Good luck with that! I'm sure everything will be okay! :)
I'm starting my Master Program in 10 days or so...I'm looking forward to it but I'm also a bit scared, you know?

The Dream Master
08-16-2007, 03:32 AM
Girly, I was absolutely terrified when I started Grad school. I seriously didn't think I'd make it. I'm over halfway done now, but the hardest part is yet to come. You'll be fine though as long as you take everything one day at a time and don't let work pile up on you.
Mr. Undertaker, college has pretty much drained me, too. I'm running on fumes at this point.
girlychaos
08-16-2007, 03:33 AM
Hi Drop....long time no see! I'm done with college...I'm so glad!

For some reason, I really feel like making a Freddy Krueger music video. Even through I've never done a music video before. Maybe I should make one.
My head still feels bad....
A co-worker told me that the day after I hit my head, I went and attempted to eat flour out of the school kitchen.
CanadianFonzie
08-16-2007, 10:30 PM
it's amazing what happens when you hit your head...I was told I tried to make out with a dog the day after I was hit in the head with a guitar...awsome experience that was, still feel a bump on my head from that
I hope I never have a concussion, I hate being dizzy, light-headed, and nauseous..but I don't think anyone does.

I almost lost my left ear in grade three when some punk swung a die-cast miniature plane at my face and I turned my head to avoid a facial shot. The doctor sewed up the back of my ear, but he refused to give me a bionic sensor like The Six Million Dollar Man had (which was my fave show at the time).
Medicine man, my ass.
Funny thing, in high school I partied with the guy who sliced me with that plane and we sure laughed about it. Until I kicked him over into a hedge when he was stumbling drunk and I ran laughing like a giddy schoolgirl. Hee hee!
I've been hit in the head a lot. Combination of kick boxing + skimboarding.
I have what I call my 'horn' in the top of my forehead from a head injury sustained as a child. People ask me, did your mother drop you as a baby and I'm like 'yeah'. 'Twice'.
Odd thing, since I have been smacked on the melon, I feel more uppy and easier to anger....

I haven't been on in the past few days really because i've been spending time with my brother in LA. I've hardly been in his apartment.

The Dream Master
08-20-2007, 06:39 AM
The feeling lost thing will probably pass, but it's alright to be questioning things. If you don't question, how do you really know what you accept and what you don't?

08-20-2007, 06:43 AM
Yeah....I know what you mean.
Hey...I just read what you said about the pain....you really should check it, you know?
The Dream Master
08-20-2007, 06:46 AM
Yeah, I know. It's just a weird feeling. I'm usually pretty healthy, but for some reason this has been going on for the past few days. I really have been feeling better for the past few hours, though.

The Dream Master
08-20-2007, 06:53 AM
It's gone away on its own, which I guess is a good thing.
I think it's seriously a case of indigestion. I've been reading up on it, and the symptoms match up. Too much spicy food I guess.

I still don't see people's thing with going out to clubs. If other people like doing it, that's fine. I just don't see what's so great about it.
I'm actually going to be leaving soon to go to the Farmers Market. There's a Starbucks there. Me and my mom are going to meet a friend there. :)

I'm fine, thanks....how's your cute brother doing? :)
The Dark Vampire
08-22-2007, 01:10 AM
Doing great thanks
He has got a brain scan coming up next week but it's nothing to worry about it's just been about a year since his last one and they have to check it at least once a year to make sure the tumor hasn't grown.
I'm unsure if I can go in with him this time as you can't have any metal on or in you and since then I've had an operation myself and there is a chance they used metal to hold things together
girlychaos
08-22-2007, 01:15 AM
Good to know he's doing great! Yeah....check ups are regular procedure.
I hope you can go in with him though...I'm sure it's much easier when you do. Can you find out for sure whether or not they used metal on your operation?
The Dark Vampire
08-22-2007, 01:17 AM
I'm going to try and find out this week

I'm good. For some reason I've been sleepy all day, but if I take a nap I don't sleep at night, so I've been fighting it.
At like midnight I'll probably be wide awake.

08-23-2007, 01:54 AM
no I didn't already have tickets, they went on sale on Saturday, waited in line for an hour and 20 minutes (got there an hour before they went on sale, so they sold out in 20 minutes!) the bitch of it was I should have gotten tickets but they did this stupid thing which involved the people in front moving to the back, I moved back about 10 spots, and I was the next in line when they announced the show was sold out, so I should have got seats...and little did I know that not too long after a second show was added and I didn't find out until Monday, which was long after that show was sold out too!

Yeah, the local public schools went back this past Monday, which is how it used to be way back when. For the past 10 years, they'd been going back around the second week of August, which is insane. College has spoiled the fuck out of me, seeing as how it goes back semi-late and gets done so early. When I end up teaching high school, it's going to be strange to go back.
Oh, and fuck school. I miss summer already.

There's a haunted corn maze thing literally a mile from my house every Halloween. It's good fun. One year, I snuck in my own mask and put it on right in the middle of it and scared the shit out of the people who were actually in it, not to mention everyone else. It ruled.

On that note, we live out in the middle of nowhere, and our family (including my grandparents and aunt who live next door) always host the big family functions. For the past two years we've had 3 events: The Runaway Fright Train, The Creepy Screamin' Maze, and The Haunted Forest Walk. Each had its own theme, decorations, and actors.
This year, the area we usually use as the Forest Walk is under water from all the rain we've had this summer, and there are alligators out there, so we decided to scrap the forest walk. Instead, we moved the cornmaze closer to where the forest walk was (because we have a 100 foot long underground tunnel there) and expanded the size of the maze to over 1 acre. It basically combines the two attractions nicely.
The underground tunnel has a couple of cubby holes for pneumatic effects (clowns jumping out at you) as well as one man-sized cubby hole for an actor to hide in. It's pretty neat. Lots of work, but pretty neat.
