Just finished watching "F13 part 5: A New Beginning." Figured that was the way to go since I almost never watch that one. But it has Violet, the raging mad, hates everyone around her, robot dancing hottie! Woo yeah! Great fun was had this night and the best part- lightning! Real lightning while we watched the movie! And seriously- when the movie was over (not counting running time on the credits), we checked the clock and it was exactly 13 minutes after midnight. It just doesn't get any better.
What'd you all do or gonna' do?

Edna! I love how she chops up that chicken!
HAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIII!!!! All squeely with joy. And how she's always telling junior to "Shut the fuck up," so matter of factly. Cool as she is (and she is awesome comic relief), Violet is still the best thing about ANB. You can't deny her 80s punk hair.
Violet's hair vs. Taryn's hair- Violet for the win!
*edit*
And just found out that Tiffany Helm (Violet) was also in an episode of Freddy's Nightmares. She's got all the bases covered. Wonder what she does now though. Her last film credit was from 1996.
Happy Friday the 13th to everyone! I guess it isn't hard to figure out what movie I am going to be watching today. :D
I am going to watch the original classic Friday the 13th of course.
I was warned I was doomed, and today, nothing can save me. Wink

Sucked man, I completely missed it. I had no idea yesterday was Friday the 13th. I was at work and suddenly (no lie) had an urge to watch part 2 from nowhere. A few hours later I noticed on the monitor that it was Friday the 13th. I didn't get to watch any flicks 'cause I tried to go to a show, but it wasn't even happening. So I wasted my Friday the 13th.

Later, I went home and posted here. Then I ordered my Chinese take out( Mongolian Beef) and watched Parts 1 and 2.

I wish I had been able to have my own little F13 marathon yesterday, but I had things to do. BUT, The New Blood was on AMC when I got home. I enjoyed it because there were a lot of extra shots added in. (i.e. There are more shots of the Robin and David sex scene.)
There are more shots of the Robin and David sex scene
On AMC!? Wow!
I watched Part 1. That movie still works in creeping me out, despite knowing what is going to happen.

Yeah, I was suprised that they showed even more sex. They also had a good exterior shot of the party house, which I don't believe is in the actual cut version.

Melfetter, I'm afraid there was no "new" footage in AMC's broadcast... but it was cut far less than it had been on TV before.

06-08-2008, 06:55 PM
So, I've decided I'm really going to go all out this Friday (June 13, 2008) with the Friday the 13th marathon I've always attempted (albiet usually half-assed) but never once completed. The closest I've come to completing a marathon is getting all the way to the middle of part 8 and falling asleep.
I managed to save $120 of the money I planned on using on my beach vacation (somehow I managed to only spend $80 all week at the beach... mooching off the 'rents, you know), so I have plenty of money to use on snack foods and drinks. I live alone, so staying up all night and not disturbing anyone isn't a problem. I have all the movies on DVD now except for Jason X, but I'll use my non-new release receipt from Blockbuster to get it since I'm a completist when it comes to planning movie marathons.
I'm really excited. This will probably be the last time I watch any of the movies until February, 2009, since that's the next Friday the 13th, and isn't that the day the new Friday the 13th comes out? Anyway, to help me stay interested in the whole ordeal, I'm going to do a running commentary throughout the night as I watch the movies. I'll do it in Microsoft Word and then post each commentary in the appropriate movie thread when the movie's over.
Oh, it's going to be so much fun. Hopefully this will be the last Friday the 13th I spend alone... not that I don't like flying solo for my marathons, but I'm pretty much making this one the be all, end all. It's been about 13 years of attempts to finish the series in one sitting, and I'm finally going to do it.

Tonight, I will probably watch parts 1-4 back to back and maybe throw in 6 or 7, I'm not sure. But definitely parts 1-4. I'm off work today and don't have anything planned so it's cool-nice to go nuts like that. I'll probably pick up some beer and have a few smokes. a full marathon would be nice, but I honestly don't like part 7 and up very much. Part 5 is a crapshoot...I hate the Jason in that one...not because it's not THE Jason, but because he's all tall and lanky and shit. The cyan marks on the mask really bother me as well. But part 6 is great so I'll probably skip 5 and go to that.

Happy Friday the 13th!!!
It seems like we just did this. Oh, wait, we did.
I'm going to try watching at least the first four movies. I've got a lot of stuff to do around the house (cleaning, organizing, etc.), so they're good to have playing since I really enjoy them but I don't have to worry about missing anything since I've seen them countless times.
We ain't done yet, though. There's yet another Friday the 13th in November of this year. I think that'll be my big one. The remake should be on DVD by then, and eight months will have passed since I watched any of the movies (I usually leave them alone until Friday the 13th pops up, or until it's October), so it should be a lot of fun. I'd like to actually rent a cabin out in the woods and make a whole weekend out of it. We'll see.
Anyways, long story short, happy Friday the 13th!!!

Well, I finally did it. I watched every Friday the 13th movie along with His Name was Jason. I made it through parts 1 through 10 before Friday the 13th was over, and I finished off FvsJ, the reboot, and HNWJ in the early hours of Saturday the 14th.
I'm so stoked that I finally did it, and now I'm stoked that I never have to do it again. From now on I think I'll stick to the first four as a definite on Friday the 13th, and maybe a few of the later Paramount Eight films.
Some Observations:
- I'll always love the first four films and consider them one, big movie.
- Part 5 is underrated.
- I used to think Part 6 was overrated, but I've come to really like it over the past two years. I still think it's a tad overrated, but its looking pretty damn good these days with the additions of the New Line Trilogy.
- I still really enjoy Part 7, but its where you start to really see the switch from early eighties to late eighties. The movies work best in the early eighties, I think.
- Part 8 isn't as bad as I remember as a whole. I hate the music for a F13 movie, but I love that music for the F13 TV series,
- JGTH is a lot of fun. Its been years since I watched that movie as a whole.
- Jason X... are you ready?... maybe isn't as bad as I have said in the past. It's actually far from the worst thing I've ever watched; I just wish they hadn't sent Jason to the future/space. I mean, the further from the 80s Jason gets the worse he gets (to me), so this was pretty bad. If the killer wasn't Jason, I wouldn't hate on the movie as badly. I actually think its better than...
- Freddy vs. Jason, which is horrible. I know none of the movies are Shakespeare, but this is the first movie in the series where I can imagine the actors reading the script. I don't know if its bad acting (which is weird since this cast is comprised of better known actors than the other casts in the series) or bad writing or a combination of both. Just horrible. The movie is a waste until the fight scenes.
- The reboot is such a nice breath of fresh air after having watched past four movies. It could have been better, but I still find it the best F13 movie not solely made by Paramount, and probably better than the later Paramount Eight entries (but I'm so nostalgic and loyal to those films its hard to readjust my rankings).
RANKINGS: 1-4 (one, big movie), 5, 7, 6, 8, '09, JGTH, JX, FvsJ

Having a sick party with friends tonight. Gonna have at least 100 beers in the fridge and we're gonna play F13 movies all night along with my sick DJ'ing abilities. Maybe pics to come.

This last Friday the 13th was a real shit-storm of trouble. We've been having some pretty crazy weather here in Kansas this summer. So on this day, I drop Tony off at work, and then I drive out to the library to get some books. While I was hiding in the stacks, this huge thunderstorm starts up. Tons of rain, really high winds, hail, you name it.
The power is lost all over town, including the library. Trees are being knocked down, signs on businesses blown off, some poor guy lost most of his roof somehow. Even heard of a couple of cars being blown over.
So by the time they said we could leave, I picked Tony up from work, and we spent a hot, dark, and miserable day waiting for the power to get back on.

You know, I searched 7 pages of threads with the titles Friday the 13th in them and I didn't see this thread listed. I could have sworn there was a thread like this I saw in the past... now in the event I skipped over it and it really exists and this gets merged, then I just wanted to ask what ya'll were doing this Friday?
If the thread doesn't exsist then this thread can be used for us fans to tell the Community what are plans are for Fridays when they fall on the 13th of the month.
Me personally, I'm having a marathon. I'll actually be starting it on the 12th since once Jason comes into the picture as a killer, its Friday the 13th part 3 that actually falls on the day of Friday the 13. So parts 1 and 2 I'll watch the day before, the rest I'm watching on Friday.

I love it when the 13th falls on a Friday. It's a great day for me since my husband and I had our first date on a Friday the 13th. April 13th, 2007 to be exact.
We're planning on spending the day together at the University where he works and then we have an awards reception to go to there later that night.

Wow that's a new one. A romantic Friday the 13th. Have fun you guys, be safe.
I don't think there was an actual thread for this before, I think we all just wished each other Happy Friday the 13th in Random Thoughts. I could be wrong though.
My plan? Who the hell knows.
And for Valentine's Day 2009 Larry took me to dinner and to see Ft13th Reboot on Friday the 13th. Best Valentine's Day ever. :sniffle:

I remember when Justyn first started posting here and I was always having to find threads for him. Feels like old times (http://www.f13community.com/board/showthread.php?t=78&highlight=happy) again.

Haha, it's actually in this thread now. I merged the threads, so my last post doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Its after 12 so technically I'm watching part 2 here on the 13th... I didn't want to start this until after I saw Jim Parsons on Letterman. My wife's going to wake me up early too, you just watch.

My how Alice gained weight!
I've always said the worst thing about Mrs. Voorhees' rampage... was that it made Alice fat.
The next person to chime in with "Alice isn't fat" stfu already. It's a joke. Hyperbole.

After FVJ I could barely keep my eyes open. I have still yet to watch ALL Friday/Jason Films in a marathon.

Anyone picking up the limited "G.I. Jason" (http://www.fright-rags.com/gi-jason-limited-edition-p-622.html) shirt from Fright Rags? Only available through Jan. 15th.
I'd like to, but $25 for a shirt seems kinda much.

Since there are three Friday the 13th dates in 2012, I've decided to split them up. Tonight, I'm watching parts 1-4 (my favorites), and then in April I'll watch 5-8, and in July I'll watch 9-12. And this is the first year I've had a copy of Crystal Lake Memories, so I'm going to read through it as well.
And, instead of buying foods to cook/snack on, I hit my three favorite food joints (Pizza Hut, Subway, and Zaxby's) and bought some meals to keep in the fridge for when I get hungry.
Also, I worked today (the first Friday the 13th I've ever worked on... I usually request off) and I started part one at 6PM so I'll be done by midnight.
I just can't do the long marathons anymore. It was the first epiphany I had that I am getting older. :(
