May be a tad early for this thread, but the season is just around the corner. Figured we'd need a place to go ahead and discuss our hopes, expectations and predictions for the upcoming year.

I'll start things off with... C-A-T-S... CATS! CATS! CATS!

Caught Big Blue Madness on TV this past weekend. Wish I'd been there live, but tickets are insanely hard to get. Holy shit, Enis Kanter's "Undertaker" entrance was awesome. He's a biiiiiiiig dude. Hope they do that entrance at every home game this year (assuming they rule him eligible. :X)

I could see a Kentucky fan starting a basketball thread in mid October most years...but hey, the SEC East is so bad in football this year that even Kentucky is still alive. :o

So... who's everyone's pick for the winner of the NCAA tournament? I don't like our chances against Ohio State. I think they're pretty much the team to beat this year. Duke got a pretty easy draw... again. But I don't see them beating Ohio State.

I would have picked Duke at the start of the tournament. Ohio State is like my Minnesota Vikings, notorious for folding when it counts (can't get it done).

Out of the remaining teams (elite 8), I would say Kansas over UConn.

For the record, KU beating Ohio State isn't much of an upset. Least surprising win over a 1-seed for the tournament this year.

The ONLY upsets remaining are if VCU and Butler can win it all. Otherwise, it will be somebody adding ANOTHER trophy to the one or more they've ALL won in the last 15 years. .

I'm rooting for the little guy, if Butler doesn't win it I'd like to see KU win just to see Wes go apeshit.
VCU is going to lose its panties against Kansas, though. No fucking way they beat Kansas. None.

The only thing I know is that either Kentucky or North Carolina is going to win it all...
or VCU, or Butler. And UConn could do it. Yes. It will definitely be one of those 5 teams.

UK's the Vegas favorite as of now. Hope they haven't jinxed us. If there's one thing I know about this tourney, nobody who is favored has fared particularly well.

Most surreal tournament ever. Still can't believe it, but I'll gladly take it.
