This is probably one of my top 10 favorite slashers. This is one of those films that I don't think I would change anything about. I liked all the characters and kills. I also thought the story progressed well and never really slowed down. This is an overall fun flick that is a must see to slasher addicts and the casual fan. 10/10

Also this is one of my favorites slashers too. I like all the kills and also like how they made you guess who the killer was. And also it was funny stuff in it too which i like.

10/10

Fun, fun film with great characters and deaths.

feels more like a Meatballs movie in a way.

I love this movie.

I only give it 6/10, but it was fun as ever! Aside from the gross, idiotic...uh...you know who I'm talking about...>.>...It's one of the very best in slashers from 86-89 era. Which means, 86-07 too. :D

The shear kill is one of my top 5 favorite movie kills of all time!

I think that Lucinda Dickey is so cute in this movie.

Although I figured out the killer no more than halfway through the film, I loved the way they executed it.

Ah, Cheerleader Camp. :)

This is a very, VERY fun movie. I love it. Teri Weigel's death was great.

I don't think I would object to a remake of this, but then again, I'm kind of a remake whore:side:

The "fat guy" was actually a bodyguard".

Ron

Yeah this movie was pretty hilarious, especially when the guys did the rap about all the girls. So terrible. I watched it at the urging of my younger brother, and gave it a chance in hopes of seeing some hot chicks. Surprisingly it was a pretty solid movie. I had no idea who the killer was until the very end.

I just watched this again. Man, I swear this movie gets better and better every time I see it.

One of the all-time great horror comedies.

I loved when the cheerleader teacher got nailed.

I just bought this yesterday. Wasn't half bad. I want to know if a sequel was truly made or if it was just a rumor. I'm starting to believe it never happened though.

They consider this sequel to be the holy grail of slashers, however, a sequel was indeed made. I don't think that it had much of anything to do with the first film though, I've never seen it.

From what I understand the true sequel was never made, but a retitling of Camp Fear was Cheerleader Camp 2. The only similarities was Betsy Russel and Buck Flower.

IMDB has a listing for Cheerleader Camp 2, but like handfuls of other entries I think it is a hoax.

Melanie Jarvis

Well, on IMDB they claim that Betsy Russell appeared in Cheerleader Camp 2 and even reprised her role as Allison. But seriously, a direct sequel to this movie would have kicked ass.

Like I've said before, I don't think I would object to a remake of this little gem.

Melanie Jarvis

Yeah, I usually hate remakes, but this film, I believe, could be an awesome remake, and then they could make a sequel bringing back Allison and Corey. I wouldn't be opposed to a remake of this at all. I think because it was movie that had great potential for a franchise but it never really went anywhere.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I really liked the character of Timmy.

Is Timmy the fat guy? I already forgot.

Ron

yeah. Geez I can't even remember Leif Garret's character's name for the life of me.

Betsy Russell was also in Camp Fear, but not as Allison. Camp Fear started out great but man that movie really blows as a whole.

Juliette Cummins, Savannah (the late porn star), and Michelle Baur has small parts in it.

yeah. Geez I can't even remember Leif Garret's character's name for the life of me.

His name was either Brent or Brett. But yeah, I also don't believe that Camp Fear is really the sequel to Cheerleader Camp. Like I said earlier, Betsey Russell's profile on IMDB has her as reprising her role as Allison in Cheerleader Camp 2, and it has a plot summary and everything. This movie probably exists somewhere, but who knows if we'll ever find it.

Ron
08-16-2007, 05:13 PM
Yeah Brent, that's it. I wnted to see Camp Fear, but now I don't really want to after hearing bad things about it. I'll probably still check it out.

Sorry, I didn't mean for it to sound like I thought that.

I just think Cheerleader Camp 2 is a on there for archive reasons. Like a lot of other movies listed on there it was never finished. I highly doubt it's out there as I have never read anything anywhere of someone who has seen it.

Here's a fake poster for it. Cheerleader Camp 2 was also called Summerhouse Slaughter, Gory Graduation and Millennium Countdown.

Millennium Countdown is what became Camp Fear when it was retitled, which was made in the ashes of Cheerleader Camp 2. That's what I have understood from the things I have read online.

I read it yesterday & loved it. I always enjoy reading the reviews. :)

And that poster is pretty funny. Who would've thought that Roy Burns made his way to Cheerleader Camp? Haha.

I saw this a few years ago. I thought it was ok...but it's due for another viewing soon after reading Boo's review.

It's definitely a cheesy horror film, but I must say that I enjoy this film. I enjoy this film a lot more than some horror movies that are considered "classics."

Cheerleader Camp is pure FUN! I absolutely love it. It's so cheesy, but it has really unique and interesting characters, and Teri Weigel's death was well done. It's a great movie to watch with a bowl of popcorn, and a couple of beers or Pepsi.....whichever you like to have with popcorn.

Heh, you ever see the cover for Camp Fear that looks like a reworking of the Bodycount cover?
