Boy I downloaded the previews on my Wii today and they look fucking awesome. It has Metriod Prime: Hunters elements in it. From the previews, it looks like you can use the grappling beam as a weapon, or something. What did you other Wii users think of it?

I haven't seen the game yet, but I hear it's absolutely incredible.

I just downloaded the previews
and I have got to say it looks awesome.
In one of the clips Samus uses the grappling beam to yank her enemies' shields out of their hands and then shoots them, looks fun.
The Spider-ball clip was sweet.

I am on the fence with this one. I have no doubts that it will be a great game, I just have problems dropping $66 CDN for a game that isn't called Super Mario Galaxy. I think I will skip it on launch day, but the second I can score it for $10 less than retail, I will bite. I just downloaded Super Metroid, LOZ:OOT, LOZ:ALTTP and Super Mario 64. If that can't tide me over until November when Galaxy comes out, I don't know what will. Plus I will probably get Phantom Hourglass because I am in desperate need of DS games due to me actually playing them because I have so much free time at work. I am trying to watch my spending a bit.

Plus, it's so hard nowadays to drop $66 on a game when I could literally get 6 excellent PS2/GC/whatever games for that price. MP3 sounds good on paper, but can I pick MP3 over other games I don't have (MP1 and 2, Wind Waker, San Andreas, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Capcom Classics) for the same price as MP3 alone? The choices you have when you own pretty much every major system ever made. I haven't figured out yet if it's a blessing or a curse.

It's not like I'm lacking in games to play. I probably have played 15% of my game collection. Really should get on that. :(

Well I'm about 1/3 of the way into the game and I must say that its amazing. Samus is in her prime (no pun intended) as she fights off space pirates and former friends. One interesting scene I thought she had, was after she defeats a boss, it spews phazon all over her and she nearly collapses, trying to prevent from being corrupted, takes off her helmet and pukes all over the floor. I thought that was pretty interesting.;)

Fun game, but I think Metroid Prime is better. Corruption is better than Echos tho.
I hated the human interaction in this game. I like my Metroids where I am completely alone. This one felt a little too Halo which is a shitty series.

The controls are really nice tho.

I just bought this today. Gonna give it a go tonight. I'm sure I have a lot of learning to do. Is it hard learning the controls? Has anybody beat it yet?

Its a pretty fun game. After a little while, you'll get use to the controls. I actually beat the game, but just barely.

I won't be playing it until I beat Metroid Prime 2. Which means in all likelihood that'll be never. :(

Wish Nintendo would get off their haunches and produce a 2D game for the DS.

Good game, but I personally thought Echoes was better.

What the hell happened to Dread?

It was dumped a long time ago. Despite hints to the contrary in the form of an Easter Egg in Corruption, Nintendo is not currently working on any 2D Metroid projects.
