Charles Band's band of killer puppets are back in Puppet Master: Axis of Evil (http://www.oh-the-horror.com/page.php?id=650)!

Damn! I was hoping for a good one this time. :( After Part 5, it really lost its soul.
Retro was the most unbearable piece of shit ever!!!

I know, Part 5 is pretty much the breaking point for me too, and even it wasn't great by any stretch. The Demonic Toys crossover was stupid as shit, dumb fun though.

I gotta say I was genuinely surprised by your final judgment on the flick, Brett. Given the tone and content of the review, I expected a "Skip it!" recommendation.

Is it a nostalgia for the puppets that makes you go with "Rent it!" instead? If so, you don't really hit on whether or not the non-fan ought to give it a shot. Would you suggest someone who's never seen a Puppet Master film -- ie: myself -- rent a film that, based on your review, doesn't even achieve "so bad it's good" status? :scared:

Having said that, I still think Dollman vs Demonic Toys is one of Full Moon's best. :X

Well, whenever I approach a franchise entry, it's generally written for fans of the franchise first. When we're especially talking about something as super-super niche as Puppet Master 10, I've gotta assume that most people reading will be at least a bit familiar with the series. If the movie is really fucking good and warrants praise even outside of the fanbase, it will be made clear in the review. But I think anyone whose never seen a Puppet Master movie can read this review and tell it just isn't going to be for them; hence, the suggestion that only fans check it out. For a franchise movie to get a Trash it, it'd have to be irredeemable on just about every level, even with fans.

This movie sucked. It did tie up the loose ends on where Six Shooter was during the first two movies, but there was not anywhere near enough puppet killings. There was way too much talk and only one really good puppet kill and one half way good one.

I mean, it is cool to see the puppet again, but I want to see them do some damage, not just stand around and look cute.
