I did a search and hope I didn't look over anything. If a thread like this already exists... my bad. Anyways. My job has me talk to alot of people all over the states, and sometimes I come across the silliest of names. Some people have total hippy names like Heavenly and Smile...:shifty:
... other names are real ghetto like Lafawnda and Shamikquia.
I thought it would be funny to share some of the names that have stuck with us since we've heard them, or share names that we come across in a normal day at work or play.
These are a few names of a few ladies I've spoken to today that had me rolling on the floor, laughing my ass off.
Qushandra
Dajuanna (pronounce "duh-wanna")
Quo-Kisha
Joquesha
Quanteria
Kushondra
And here's one that's stuck with me since when I was working at Blockbuster 7 years ago... Bumkweesha. Fucking kid you not.
So share some of the silly names you know or have heard.
Well, I personally don't think there is anything funny or silly about ethnic names. They probably think that our names are silly.
One thing that I never liked *your name made me think of it Justyn, is when parents gave their kids a funny spelled name. You have no idea how annoying that is when filling out ambulance reports or giving out first aid certs, when someone says "My name is spelled Cydni, or Wendi, or Rikki...". It is cool, except when you are filling out paper work.
It's not as bad as the name of one person I went to high school with
Tokee Reefer, I also know a woman that her last name was Black, and she married a man with the last name of Karma. So her name was "Karla Black-Karma", which is sort of silly.

That's your opinion... ;).
And if they want to make fun of my name in good fun, I'm fine by it. Because to me it's all in good fun.

I wonder how much the kids named "Heavenly" and "Smile" end up hating their parents?*

*I hate hippies
I hate it when women do the ridiculous hyphen thing. Change your name, or don't, but you don't get two last names woman.

I have two first names, two middle names and two last names. All of them with hyphens :X

You were born that way, Banana. DD77's talking about women that chose that nonsense.
It's mostly a feminist thing. Feminists think it's a radical act. It's not; castrating a guy in the parking lot with a coke bottle is a radical act. Hyphenating your name is pretentious bullshit.

Jesus, and you were worried about paperwork lol. Your parents couldn't decide and just gave you every name they could think of? Never heard of that, must be a Canadian thing.

No... I am the only Canadian that I know of with such a stupid thing. It's due to a indecisive family.
My dad wanted Paula as a name, my mom wanted Katherine. So, I got named Paula-Katherine. Both sets of grandparents wanted to pick a middle name, so I got stuck with Edith-Marie. My mother kept her maiden name when she married my dad, but he threw a fit about me not having his last name, so I got stuck with both of them. I would honestly change it to Katherine Marie Cooper, but fuck all of my college certificates and everything have my name on it and it costs 100 bucks to change shit (per item). As for paper work, at least Paula-Katherine and my names are easy to spell.

So far today I've come across a Marquishante. (pronounces mar-kee-shawntay... last name was Harris).
That's it. Most of the people calling in are from Ohio and Michigan. This girl was from South Carolina.

If I ever did get married I would take her name anyway that or legally change my name to my mums maiden name first.
I don't really want my Dads name but it's to much trouble to change it but if I was having to change a lot of stuff anyway or my future wife would have to I may as well change it

I wouldn't really call any ethnic names silly...Justyn, everything you're listing are ethnic names, some are very traditional African names with meanings behind them, haha.
If I ever run across someone named like pizza or hamburger or horse or brick or fireplace or some other shit, I'll call someones name silly

Like I said dude, it's all in good fun. I'm in no way trying to poke fun at these people. Maybe I should have named the thread "Interesting Names" so you people don't wouldn't think I was racist.

Well the Le-a thing was started in my state. It's pronounced "Le-Dash-Ah" as you have to pronounce the dash.
Snopes has it as undetermined, but it was all over the place around here a few years ago.

Reminds me, in Middle School we had a gym teacher by the name of Ms. Buech. (Pronounced "Book"). After giving birth she named her daughter Rita. I don't know if she knew what she was doing, but Rita Buech?... kid's gonna be made fun of the rest of her life.

Last year I had a ninth grade social studies teacher named Rita Huk. I figured her last name was kind of funny. Also, my gym teacher throughout middle school was named Mr. Shoemaker.
