View Full Version : What should WWE do to help the declining ratings?

First of all have Cena drop the title tonight on Raw a main event championship never changes hands on Raw (and only on SD so often because they have to due to injury)

it will also help with that don't miss Raw (SD/ECW) as anything can happen and miss just one show and you may miss a major event

Now again I’m not a Cena hater and I actually like him and think he’s underrated by the smark fans (no offense to smarks I’ve quite a smark myself)

To add to the Cena stuff I think a heel Cena could be a good swerve and he was popular when he was heel.

Have actual wrestling matches make some go 30-60 minutes

Make the titles mean something in the past a wrestler would “die” before he gave up the title also most of the titles now are little more than a prop to flavour of the month over the last few years some of the guys who were IC-US-Tag champs ate now Heat or dark-house match jobbers to the new flavours of the month then to anybody else.

Make your minds up is the guy a unstoppable monster or a jobber take Snitsky he was a monster beating the shit out of everybody then he was a jobber getting his ass handed to him on heat every week now he’s a monster again

Same goes for Big Daddy V he has been little more than a jobber for the last 10 years how can we take him as a serious threat now?

The next one is obvious get some writers in who know wrestling and not some Disney channel reject same of course goes for wrestlers get some who can wrestler and fans will give a shit about 90% of the ME the fans hate and it’s not heel heat is OMG this guy is shit or just to boring to care about heat

I really don’t think they need to end the Tri Brands but just use it better and put themselves across as a different group I know joint PPV’s don’t help but the fact they announce the other shows results mention the other show every 10 seconds doesn’t help establish they are supposed to be different shows.
This goes especially for ECW the way it started out it looked like they would have no cross over with WWE at all but now it’s just the 3rd show

Unrealistically if they could get The Rock to agree to just one match it would majorally (s/p) boost the ratings but that would be a short term effect.

Sad thing is we know from The Monday Night Wars when they want to WWE can produce some really really amazing stuff

I don't think there is much they can do. Wrestling is simply not as popular as it was in the 90s. The only thing that can help is if they were to bring back guys like Stone Cold and The Rock full time. I don't see that happening though.

John Cena is simply not cutting it. He was never a believable world champ to begin with, but now the only people who like him are teen boopers.

1) Clean up, instill substance abust policies along with strict testing.
2) more matches, less angles and HORRENDOUS acting
3) Make it less show and more sport
4) Bring back icons, perhaps not to wrestle but for commentary and cameos.
5) Make the matches more believable.
6) less belts, less title changes

A few things that would make me want to watch more would be:

1 Take the belt off Cena and place him in a feud with someone that wasn't in the WWE Title picture for a little while.

2 Stop making Vince the focus of RAW.

3 They should focus their entertainment value more on what happens in the ring, and limit some of these lame comedy skits.

4 Do away with the brand extension. Now that they have these tri-branded events every month, and wrestlers just show up where they like; it seems more pointless than ever IMO.

- Go back to having only five ppv's a year. This way you have alot of time to build up major feuds then they will be more enjoyable when you finally get to the PPV.

- Go back to major star vs a jobber on some of the shows. When you have a major star vs another major star in every match then who's going to want to watch them fight again at a PPV.

1. Take the title off of Cena, preferably dropping it to Orton at Summerslam.

2. Try to find the right balance between the entertainment and wrestling portions of the show. Preferably having more wrestling on the shows.

3. Make the feuds mean something. I don't want a feud starting the week before a pay-per-view. The majority of a major PPV card should be set a month or two before the event itself in order to show the fans the feud building.

4. I agree with Killa, there should only be around 5 PPV's a year (Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, King of the Ring, Summerslam and Survivor Series) at the most 7 - 10 a year.

5. Stop calling up developmental talent too early because they have a great body. Leave them in OVW so they can develop their microphone/in-ring skills.
