I only finished a class, unfortunately. I still have until next May before I'm done (and even then, I may not be...if I decide to go for the PhD.) Still, I am glad that I'm finished with literary theory, because it never was my favorite topic.

I always try to make one about my town. It's filled with weirdo's, drug addicts, and hookers. There's several notable crazy people around, and I always wanted to make them the bosses and then have side monsters like crackheads, weirdos, gang members. But when I sit down, I get bored after like an hour. Maybe because I didn't read the tutorial all the way through.:confused:

I like vodka too. I need to have it mixed, though. I can't drink it straight up. My uncle used to order Vodka tonics alot, and I tried it once, and it was gross. I like Screwdrivers alot. :)

I like flavored Bacardi better then Vodka. I like Bacardi Raz and Coke. That is my favorite mix drink. I also like Coke and Captain Morgan. Typically I just drink beer though. I like Heinniken (spelling?).

I love drinking. I tend to drink straight shots for any hard liquor rather than mix it. I've never been too big of a mixed drink guy. I do love beer though, I'm drinking a Budweiser right now. I can't wait for the weekend so I can get loose at a club again.

Same here. I usually only drink when i'm out with other people. I usually have a maximum of 3. I can drink more, but I just don't like getting drunk.

I've never had any of those flavored Bacardi drinks. I saw they have a Mojito flavored one. I want to try that one. :)

Ever since I started playing GH Rocks the 80's, i've been listening to Skid Row alot lately. I always go through phases where i'll listen to a certain band non stop or a certain genre. :)

Haha, no, i've always liked the Skids. :) It's just it's been a while since i've listened to them, and after playing GH, it made me want to listen to them.

It's actually at the end of the chorus RIGHT before the last solo. It's so off-key, I cringe everytime I hear it. They really should have just paid Dio to sing on it. Same thing with Sebastian Bach.

It is WAY to early to ask, but do any of you have any plans for Halloween yet? It is early, but I just love the Halloween Season. :)

yes I do recall an off-pitch-ness at the end come to think of it, I like how they used the original track for Electric Eye, and I was really glad that they included "The Hellion" intro to it, because I have always loved that intro and foud it to be one of the best album intros

Nuno Bettencourt is a really good guitar player. I've never actually really listened to Extreme before, though. I should check out more of their stuff.

and Nuno is a great guitarist, I hate Extreme but love their solos, like the solo in Get The Funk Out, Vito Bratta (White Lion) is, IMO, an equivelant guitarist and I'm glad he was on the game too, just wish they chose a better song rather than a cover

I love TCM 2! The original is still my favorite, but 2 is my 2nd fave. :) It does have alot of "dark humor", but I actually liked that.

I haven't watched a movie in a while. Usually when I put a movie on, its like just playing on the tv and I don't even pay attention. I used to be a movie fiend, especially in my pothead days. I guess I've gotten tired of it. Life is outside my door, not in the DVD player. Although there are a few series' that I wanna check out such as Critters and I wanna see Dazed and Confused.

The original Critters is really good. 2 is good too. 3 and 4 sucked, IMO. I haven't watched 3 and 4 in a long time.

Dazed and Confused is a good movie. My brother has it on VHS and DVD. I can't tell you how many times we've watched that. I like it.

That's cool, though. I've always been the type to stay in and watch DVD's, instead of going out. When I was in LA, my brother took me to a couple bars and one club.....I just can't get into that lifestlye. But if you like it, that's great. As long as you're doing what you like, ya know?

Well, for one, i'm very anti-social. I hate talking to people, for the most part. Also, I found that I don't like alot of the people that go to clubs.....i'm not referring to you in any way, just so you know. I'm going by personal experience, from the people i've seen.

My hair always lays flat......unless it's windy outside. :lol: My hair won't be long for another year to a year and a half. :( I HATE waiting.

How long does it take to get to shoulder length? I'm going to grow it longer, but I was wondering how long it takes to get to that length. Also, is is ABSOLUTELY necessary to get it trimmed every few months? I've heard people say that you should. And how much should you get trimmed?

you know, my hair rarely went longer than shoulder length, but I never timed how long it took, it does take quite a few months though

girly - That is weird, because people have told me that your supposed to get it trimmed every 3-4 months. I guess you're supposed to do that to prevent getting split ends. I guess when you get split ends, your hair grows slower.

My Magister Artium will be in English, same as my undergraduate degree. The MA is exclusively literature, though, whereas my BA includes a lot of composition, rhetoric, and linguistics (and a fair amount of literature.)

Sounds really interesting....and difficult. Do you really like it? I mean really really?

I like it. I'd go so far as to say that I love the field, and I love learning in general, but even after taking a semester off between graduation and starting grad school, I feel somewhat burnt out. After next month I'll be over halfway done with classes, but I haven't started writing a thesis yet. I'm sure when that happens I'll love it much, much less. Such is the nature of academia.

I'd say that the undergraduate courses were more 'difficult' because it was the first time you got exposed to whatever topic. Now, I have a really good grounding in the basics, so it's more of a review, which is easier. The quality of the coursework is more difficult, as you basically have to stay on the cutting edge 100% of the time, and the expectations are much higher - anything below a B and you fail out of the program. As it stands right now, I've never made below an A in English, so that hasn't been a huge problem. But the thought of slipping up is a great motivation for keeping on my toes.

Long winded answer, I know.

I can actually relate to mostly everything you just said. I though about taking a semester off but I just can't wait to start it....so, I figured I might as well start it now. I figured it should be difficult I've had two semesters of "linguistics" in college and it was pretty tough. As far as grades go....I know exactly what you mean...that kind of motivation not only helps us keeping them high, but also makes everything more interesting, you know? At least that's the way I feel about it.
