One song at a time, list a song that made you just fuckin', drop whatever you were doing and dye your hair pink.
(Just for the record, I was only alive for 4 years and 2 months of the 80's, but it still remains my favorite decade for music. I constantly wish I was born in the 70's so I could have experienced the 80's. Then again, I hate cocaine so I probably wouldn't have had that great of a time :()

I was born in the mid-70s, and the 80s were a fantastic time for me. The music, movies and TV shows of that era remain my favorites, and I'd do anything to be able to relive that.
Picking a favorite song will be tough. I have the entire Sounds of the Eighties collection from Time/Life as well as their Modern Rock series in addition to the dozens upon dozens of CDs from the 80s. To start off though, I'll go with....
Simple Minds - Don't You Forget About Me
For those of you who love the 80s, you might want to get a book called Totally Awesome 80s by Matthew Rettenmund. It's the best and funniest book about that decade I've ever read.

I meant to make the thread title Song(s)...dag, if a mod could change it that'd be sweet, but still remember, one at a time.

RATT - Round And Round.
One of my favorite hair metal tracks. I'm planning on using this in my upcoming Casey Jones fan film. Oh yeah, and I tweaked the thread title to Song(s), VV. And I don't think that Rick Springfield did Broken Wings. I'm pretty sure that was Mr. Mister.

ribbon - Little Date
It's the first Japanese song I ever listened to. It was released as a single in 1989. I really dug it. It sparked my love for J-pop/J-rock, so it holds a place in my heart as one of my favorite 80s songs.
Didn't make me want to dye my hair pink, I'm afraid.

After thinking about it most of today, my absolute favorite song from the 1980s would have to be I'm Falling by The Comsat Angels. If you're a fan of mid-80s post-punk or alternative rock, you owe it to yourself to listen to The Comsat Angels. I'm Falling is by far my favorite song from the 1980s. I'm not sure why. The song has just always stuck with me.
I've got a copy of it in digital format taken from the original LP. I've had this copy of the song since long before the CD hit stores in 2001. While I one day plan to buy the CD, I like the way the original album version sounds. That slight hiss and crackle from the album just adds something totally 80s to the feel of it.

okay if we're talking Metal I'd pick:
-Balls to the Wall and Fast as a Shark by Accept

there's others I gotta think of
for hair/glam metal:
-anything by Van Halen
-anything by Def Leppard...specifically Love Bites though
-well as I previously stated my favourite song of all time, which is Here I Go Again (1987) by Whitesnake, as well as that entire album which is my favourite album of all time
-most power ballads, could never choose a favourite
and for rock or whatever you'd like to call it
-Jack and Diane by John Cougar Mellencamp, as well as I Need a Lover
-In The Dark, Eye On You and Don't Let Me Go by Billy Squier
-anything by Boston
-Roll on Down the Highway by Backman-Turner Overdrive
like I said there are alot more, I just can't think of them right now
