Could be interesting.
Don't read much Devil's Due Press so I am taking a wait and see approach.

Could be interesting. I really enjoyed the ones from Chaos! and still have them in my collection. I wish they'd do something original though rather than rehash an old story.

It's going to be all-new stories which basically take over the original continuity, and certainly won't be a needless bloodbath!

Yeah - a couple of the sites who published the press release got it wrong. I think Shock Till You Drop posted that it was going to be an adaptation of the original film, which isn't the case. I think the rest of the information will probably be released after Zombie's movie has been out in the theatres, because that's were all the focus is right now.

From Shock Til You Drop.com, the covers to Devil's Due new Halloween book, HALLOWEEN:Nightdance (http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=3704). The first is by veteren artist, Bill Sinkiewicz. The second by HACK/SLASH(a book you should all be reading) creator Tim Seeley.
ADDED:
P.S.-It's also been announced that next week we'll have some detils about what the storyline to this puppy will be about. And, some good news for some of us long time fans, it will mark the official continuation from the original continuity.

I look forward to these comics, and all the moreso being that they continue from the original series and not Rob Zombie's movie.
I still have to check out DD's Chucky comics.
But which original continuity does it follow? H6 or H8?

It follows the continuity of H1, H2, H20, an HR.

Thanks for the link. I look very forward to this series, as I have yet to own any Halloween comics.
I picked up the first issue. Not bad.
It takes place in 2000 and I hear it continues the H1,2, H20 storyline so there won't be any mention of Thorn. Really glad it wasn't a continuation of Zombieween.
The first issue was to basically set up the characters, but there was a little blood as well.
There are 4 alternate covers, and each issue will have alternates as well.
Not too bad for a first issue, the art was nice. The main character's story will be revealed in successive issues and seems to have some sort of connection with Michael.

hope the whole world could forget about zombieween. i hate that movie.
i've ordered this comic can't wait to read it.
It ended up coming out early, but only with covers A, B, and C so if you ordered the special glow-in-the-dark cover I think you may have to wait till the end of the month.

Picked up covers A, B and C. My local cb store got a glow in the dark cover delivered by mistake so sold it to me at cost. I'm a completist so now I'll be hunting down the sketch variant :D
The book is kinda... meh. Nothing exciting yet, I have to admit I preferred the Chaos! Comics series... but we'll see where this one goes.

I picked up the whole series today. Haven't had a chance to read them yet, though I did thumb through it checking out the artwork, it looks fantastic. I'll probably sit down and read them all tomorrow
The Nightdance TPB (http://www.halloweencomics.com/pre-order.htm) will be out in July.
The next Halloween comic hits (http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=6384) in (http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=6403) August,
Halloween: 30th Anniversary Special
The 48-page one-shot hosts five all-new stories of Myers, Dr. Loomis and Laurie Strode
They say there's a PDF version of a Loomis story available on HalloweenComics.com (http://www.halloweencomics.com/), but I've yet to find it.
And starting in September, Devil's Due will publish the three-part
Halloween: The First Death Of Laurie Strode
which is set in the months following Halloween II. The story "visits Laurie Strode and the citizens of Haddonfield as they try to come to terms with the events of Halloween, 1978."

I have to say, the 30 Years of Terror book was amazing. One of my favorite stories in it was "Tommy's Web". It showed a grown-up Tommy Doyle with a wife and son. His job is a comic-writer. In this story, Hutchinson incorporates the Thorn films in an interesting and creative way... as comics! The whole book is great, and I give it a 10/10.

I recently picked up the Halloween: Nightdance TPB from Amazon a while back and I must say, I'm impressed with the layout and the excellent plotline of the story. :D

Steve, I recently read the downloads for both "Sam" and "White Ghost" and I liked them both. Is there gonna be any full comic line based on those two short stories or is that it?
Steve

Those are short stories that are provided on the site for free, and as of now aren't planned to go further than that. Basically we just want to have a lot content for people to enjoy, and it's also a nice thing to have since the DDP situation has things slow for now.
Pretty soon the next story on the site will be available, and it's called Halloween: Samhain. :)

Check out the one by Jim Daly (http://halloweencomics.com/latestnews/?p=438). As much as I dig that Ed Repka one, that Daly piece just nails the mood perfectly. :)
That's pretty sweet. the only problem I have with these comics is deciding what cover to buy.
Steve
04-23-2009, 04:36 AM
Deciding on multiples isn't hard for me now, I just get the one I like the most. Of course years ago when i collected everything, I bought all variant covers. :p It just depends on how into something you are. :)
My local comic guy doesn't always seem to get all of the covers either, that pisses me off sometimes.
Steve
04-23-2009, 04:54 AM
Usually when there's an order form provided on the site, it includes all the ordering codes. That way if you ever want specifics, you can bring that to them and have them get the one you want. There's also online ordering, but I used to be a real stickler for checking my book before buying. :p
Yah, I hate using my credit card period, let alone online. My comic shop isn't the greatest, but if you request something specific the guy is usually pretty good about getting it for you.
I'm just glad to see this series is finally wrapping up.
With any luck Mark of the Thorn will be as good as Nightdance and this one were.

A question for those of you also reading the Devil's Due books, and even Halloween:Autopsies, which came with the 25th Anniversery Documentry DVD. In Halloween II, after learning the death of Annie, and seeing her body, Sheriff Brackett blamed Loomis for "letting him out". Even in the first and shortly before Ben Tramer's dum-dum accident, Liegh was putting the blame on Loomis' shoulders for Myers getting out. I always thought, while a knee jerk reaction to the tragedy of loosing his daughter, was perfectly understandable. But in Autopsies and The First Death of Laurie Strode, the man still blames Loomis for what happened. I always thought, in the investigation that followed that dreadful night, Sherieff Bracket would've been given the records Myers fortunate incarceration, and seen how Loomis tried to move heaven and earth to keep the man locked up. But despite the doctor's protests and prophetic warnings he was ignored by the higher ups at Smith's Grove. Which allowed Myers to escape. I at least thought Brackett would've been able to put aside his anger at Loomis, and aim it instead at Smith's Grove, and the state government, which was trying to get the spotlight off themselves by getting Loomis out of Haddonfield. I know Liegh could never forget what happened to his daughter, but I always thought that he'd at least stop blaming Loomis for what happened. Any thoughts people.
