So this past Monday I picked up Scarface: The World Is Yours for the PS2. I've read good reviews for it -- a lot of them, including the IGN review, have compared the game favorably to the GTA series -- and they had it for less than $15.00 at Game Stop. I'd been wanting a new action game, so it seemed like as good a game as any to pick up.

I didn't realize the game had such a massive cast, and most of them are high level celebrities, too. I thought the game's cast list was never going to end.

I've only played through the prologue, but I really enjoyed it. I like how the auto targeting system gives you the freedom to pick which bit of the body you want to shoot, and the Blind Rage mode is sweet. The voice actor that plays Tony Montana (who was hand picked by Pacino, apparently) is really good. He takes a bit of getting used to, but he does sound butt load like Pacino.

Anyone else got this game?

Man, I have so wanted to play this and still haven't go off my ass and snatched it up.

Jeans, I read that Pacino SO wanted to play Tony again (Scarface is his favorite movie), but had the discipline to bow out when he decided he was too old to pull it off now.

You can get the game seriously cheap at a Game Stop, Tall. I was looking for a copy of Half-Life and I stumbled across it for $15.00. In really good shape, too. So far I like it, although the game does seem to have some frame rate issues during cut scenes. It's not so bad during the in-game stuff, though.

Al Pacino gets credited as Tony Montana at the head of the opening credits, then the voice actor is credited "as the voice of Tony Montana" at the end of the opening credits. From what I've read online, the decision to use another actor for the voice of Tony was made due to Pacino's inability to do the voice now. Many years of heavy smoking has changed how his voice sounds too much for him to play Tony.

Oh hellz yeah, I fucking LOVE this game. I rented it over spring break last year when I was in from college. All I really did was go camping out at the lake from Friday to Tuesday and I had nothing much eles to do while I was home, so I decided to give this game a go, being a big fan of the movie.

I must say, the "what if Tony survived the mansion attack" is spot on in this game. Money laundering, dirty small jobs, shopping, and the entire drug operation in this game is so realistic and fun. It's pretty much the best way to experience the life of a cocaine kingpin without actually doing anything illegal or really hurting anyone. The fact that Sosa, the bank president, and most of the other characters in the film are present make the game a sequel with truly flawless continuity. Right now, I'm on that island south of Miami taking care of the missions over there before my takeover of the othe rhalf of Miami.

I really recommend the game to anyone that wants to experience the life of a foul mouthed, overly violent, money hungry Cuban drug lord first hand. Plus, I've renovated the mansion once. The modern renovation purchase is awesome. I can't wait until I unlock the last renovation on the list.

I fucking rock at laundering money. I keep having to pay the bank a 1.0% cut (the first time I fucked up and had to pay 13.0%). I just laundered $31,557, and I only had to pay them $316.

I rule. :box:

I also launder my money quite often. I'm horrible about getting killed in these free-roaming games, and it says you lose all unlaundered money when you die, so if there's a bank around and I got money, I'm there. I'll deposit as little as $200 at a time.

One small complaint -- while the frame rate on the PS2 version isn't awful, there's a lot of page tearing in the game. The screen jutters a bit when there's too much action, and it's more noticeable in cut scenes than in gameplay. Still, that's only a small complaint.

I'll probably try and get this for the Wii, if and when I get the Wii.

Very, very fun game. I love it even tho it gets frustrating as hell. After a fucking year I finally have almost beaten the game. I have taken over all of Miami save for one storehouse, and then... the last few missions of the game. Muah ha ha.

I love this game, but I do prefer the Sopranos game.

Fuck yeah! Finally beat it last night. Finally! It was pissing me off so bad and I played the same fuckin' mission "Tranquilandia" over and over for 3 days and beat it yesterday. Then went to Bolivia and killed Gaspar, Sheffield & Sosa. I feel better about myself. :D
