Florida Championship Wrestling owned by WWE?

When did that happen? Last I checked FCW was a part of the NWA. Can someone please fill in the blanks for me here?

Florida Championship Wrestling is a development territory for World Wrestling Entertainment owned by Steve Keirn. FCW was launched in mid-2007 by WWE after ending their "relationship" with Deep South Wrestling. FCW is located in Tampa, Florida. This promotion has no connection to the former NWA member promotion, Championship Wrestling from Florida.
