My favorite version was Street Fighter II Turbo. ...or was it Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
It definitely wasn't Super Street Fighter II or Street Fighter II Champion Edition.
No, I'm pretty sure it was Street Fighter II Turbo.
My favorite character is Ken.

I liked Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, I think that was also the last version of SF2.
My favorite Street Fighter game is Alpha 3.

Used to play the hell out of this game in college. We used to play round robin series with a few friends. Actually had a couple of fights break out with all the s**t talking and bragging going on.

This was my favorite fighting game ever when I was younger. I remember going to the arcade and spending a lot of money just on this one.

I've always fancied the Street Fighter games, especially the Sega Genesis ones, I played so many different ones that I can't pin point Street Fighter 2, but I do have that movie they made out of it and I find it to be an interesting movie for anime

As I said in another thread, Street Fighter II is much better than Mortal Kombat, as the engine was a lot deeper. Overall, I'd say SFII is definately among my ten favorite games ever. My favorites are Ken, Fei Long, and Guile, and my favorite version of the game was Super Street Fighter II.
Bring on Street Fighter IV already!

I like Street Fighter more than Mortal Kombat myself, also Ken is my favorite character as well.
Favorite game of the series would be 3rd Strike and Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

I was such a fan I won some tourneys..... mostly using Guile...
I'm a big follower even from the first SF, the music on the first was awesome, they should added and Adon - type character on SF2, Adon was almost unbeatable, with a few lucky Shordouken's you could beat him.
Although I am more of a Mortal Kombat fan, Street Fighter 2 (and it's many versions) is one of the most legendary fighting games ever made.
My favorite was always Super Street Fighter 2 for the Sega Genesis with the six botton controller.

I LOVE the SFII series. :)
I actually used to participate in tournaments all the time at this arcade in Northbrook, IL. It used to be called Capcom's Super Just Games. Back in that day, the crowds that they got there were immense. ALOT of competition. After new ownership, they changed it to Nickel City. It's not quite the same as it was back then. :(
I basically love all the versions of SFII. My top favorites are Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold.
I also really like the Vs. games, like X-Men vs. Street Fighter. That one is still my favorite of those. I also like Marvel vs. Capcom. MvC2 was good, but WAY too complex for me. I like it, but I was never really good at it. :( Capcom vs. SNK 1 and 2 were also games I played to death.
Oh, the memories. :)

I'm surprised I never posted in here, maybe it was because I posted alot in the one at the old forums. Oh well. I was going to post this in the arcade thread but figure I'd find the "series" thread since it was more about the consoles games.
I've always been a SF fan. The most I played a game online on xbox, 360, or even ps3 was this game on the xbox (SF Anniversary Ed). I must have played every day hours on end. Even like immediatly after work. There was a time where I had to pack all my dvd's, games, consoles, after I kicked my wife out because she was being stupid, and at the time I had a GF. So I took all my stuff to her house for awhile. I didn't have my Xbox here, so I would go to her house just to play SF2-Anniversary just so my timing didn't go away and I didn't get rusty lol.
Hell, once that game came out, I was SF EVERYTHING! I looked all over and even got the SFA3 for GBA just to get my fix here and there. Well since then I've managed to get almost all of the versions of each game. The only thing I didn't like about the anniversary edition, was for SF2 when you played single player and even MP for that matter it was basically just SSF2Turbo. You could choose any fighter from whichever version, however the computer always was the SSF2T version. I would have liked it even more if I could have played just SF2T for example and that's the version the computer would be as well. But it was still awesome.
So far this is what I've gotten -
SF Anniversary - Xbox
SF Alpha 3 Max (I think it's Max at the end?) - PSP
Campcom Remix (or Reloaded?) - PSP which has SF2, SF2 Hyper, SF2 Turbo. So while I mentioned above this is what I was looking for in the SF-A version, but I would have wanted this on the console as well instead of just on a handheld.
SF2 C.E. (or is it Hyper Fighting?) - 360 XBL Arcade
SF3 - Dreamcast
I did have the GBA one but I've since traded my whole GBA so don't count that anymore. Those are the only ones I can think of. I also had the Capcom Collection Vol 1 on Xbox that had SF2, I'm not sure if it had a different version on there besides the first SF2, because I tried it and it was just horrible. I don't what went wrong with that version, but it wasn't enough to keep me from just playing SF-A so I ended up trading that one in also. I also had the SF Alpha Collection on PS2, but that to felt "weird" and it also didn't look that good on the big screen on the PS3 because of how it streched, but I don't think I had the HDMI cable at the time so it could be upscaled, so I do plan on buying again. I also think I was kind of short on money so I shouldn't have bought it in the first place. So I didn't trade it, but took it back within the 7 days at gamespot to get my money back.
The only other version I want is the SSF2 series. Like I want that as just "alone" and not like how it is in SF-A. I think there's another Capcom Collection for PS2 that has it as just SSF2(T) so I just need to find that again and I'll get it. I'll also of course buy it on XBLA when the HD Remix comes out.
The only other versions I can think of that I dont have are the EX series. I was looking through Gamestop the other day and seen they have the SF EX3 for PS2 at one of the stores close to me for like $9-12 used, so I might pick that up. I remember having the first one that came out on the regular PS1, and it wasn't that bad. Different but not that bad. The other 2 look to be hard to find and rare, so I'm not on a big hunt for those ones. Also of course gonna get the SF Alpha collection for PS2 again soon. Again thats just "to have" as part of my SF collection since I already have so many.
I do also have Marvel vs Capcom 2 on Dreamcast, but I want to get it on Xbox. I know it's rare and it goes for tons online like on Ebay and even at the Gamestop stores. But I would like to have the Xbox version as well because I don't know how long the Dreamcast is going to hold up, plus I rarely even play the Dreamcast.
What do you guys have as far as SF Collections and for which systems? Just so I could see which ones I might need to get if I'm missing some, as well if I'm missing any?
Also, I know it's not my thread. But think a mod could maybe change the title to like Street Fighter 2 - Series Discussion or something like that? I was almsot about to make a thread about the SF Series because I thought this was just about SF2 and not about the whole series. Plus might help get more peoples attention? Just a thought :)
ADDED:
Oh and the other one's I'm looking to re-buy are the Capcom vs SNK 2 on Xbox, Capcom/SNK Chaos or something that was on Xbox as well. I had both of those but traded them and I don't know why. I've seen them on Ebay for pretty cheap, so I'll get those again. I basically would like to get any game that has SF characters in it. Although, I don't want that Campcom Fighting Evolution or whatever it was? Like some of those VS games were just to weird/over the top for me that I didn't like. Like that Fighting Evolutions, I just didn't like SF people mixing with darkstalkers/super natural kind of characters. It worked in like Marvel vs Capcom, but not in that one.

I played some Street Fighter II: Champion Edition last night. I'm a bit rusty, but all in all, I still am pretty decent. I used to play the SFII series to death.
I actually think Samurai Shodown II rivals SFII in awesomeness. I think SSII is one of the greatest fighting games of all time, and one of the most underrated.

I loved the SNES Street Fighter II Turbo edition.
It's definitely one of the best games ever made, in the top 5. If you like this game, you should try Super Street Fighter IV (my favorite fighting game of all-time). Far superior to the MK games, IMO.
Useless Trivia:
Clocking in at 40 Megabits, Super Street Fighter II was the largest Sega Genesis cartridge ever made. :)

Chris, my brother actually gave me his copy of the original SFIV, because he wasn't really playing it too often. I really liked it, but I prefer the old school SF's...Super Street Fighter II Turbo being my all-time favorite fighting game ever! I might see about upgrading to SSFIV at some point. But for now, the original is good enough. :)

Oh man. I never got around to picking up that Samurai Shodown Anthology for PS2. Maybe I should one of these days. I have some great memories of playing the original in arcades.
Also, SSFIV is crazy fun. Pretty much just as addictive as the other Street Fighters. Being able to play online with friends is probably its greatest asset.

I'm glad I bought the SS Anthology when it first came out. It's become quite rare. I haven't looked, but i'm sure it could easily get up to $50+, even for a used copy. My only problem with it is the fact they didn't put Samurai Shodown V Special on their. I thought it was FAR superior to V. VI was really good, and is almost up there with II for me...but I still think II is the best of the series.
Do you guys remember those kick ass Brady Games Strategy Guides for SF II Turbo and SSFII? I was looking through those last night, and it really brings back memories. I used to practice all the combos in there nonstop. I always loved Guile's re-dizzy combo.
