I would like to introduce my favorite band to everyone. They are called Skillet. When they first started out they were a Christian Worship band, but they called themselves Skillet because they incorporated many different sounding music styles into what they play. (A skillet is something you put everything into and you get a dish)
Skillet currently consists of husband and wife John Cooper (Bass/vocals/song writer) and Korey Cooper (guitars/keyboards/vocals). The newest drummer is Jen Ledger, also sings vocals on a few songs. And lead guitarist the infamous Ben Kessinga. Tate Olsen plays cello and Jonathan Chu plays violin
Collide
Their album Collide was the first album where we heard more mainstream rock, metal, and gothic rock. The album was heard in the mainstream channel of music and their fanbas began to expand from Christians, to many other groups of individuals. It was originally released on November 18, 2003 under Ardent Records The album was re-released through Lava Records on May 25, 2004 with the bonus track "Open Wounds." The album peaked at #179 on the Billboard 200 and #5 on the Top Heatseekers. The album artwork is, according to John Cooper, faith and fear colliding.

Comatose
Comatose expanded even more on the genre of music produced by the band. Released October 3, 2006, this album continues their previous album's trend of downplaying the keyboard elements that were prominent in previous releases in favor of more orchestral elements and distorted guitars set to modern hard rock anthems. Comatose has sold over 500,000 units and has been certified Gold as of October, 2009. Comatose received a Grammy Award nomination on December 6, 2007 for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. A deluxe edition of Comatose was then released in stores on December 26, 2007 and a live DVD of their headlining tour in support of Comatose was released in Fall 2008.

Awake
After years of touring, and years of waiting for the fans, Skillet finally put out a brand new album. This one is my far my most favorite of anything they've done. The majority of the direction in this album is a little more soft, but there are still 4 or 5 "harsh" sounding song on the album the rock the house. They're hit single, Monster, was the #2 most downloaded song on itunes, and their song "Hero" has been heard many times on Moday Night Football comercials. To top it off, the album itself ranked #2 on Billboard Music

Now these guys rock. They've climbed the ladder starting at Christian rock and has gone up the chain to mainstream rock/metal/ballads, and IMO is about ready to explode! I doubt many of you have even heard of this band because so far they're based out of the US, they've toured all over the US but haven't been international, and I know there are a lot of Europeans in this community. I'm sharing my favorite band with you all in hopes you like what you see and hear. They are pretty big in the US but not as big as I know they can be. Please, if you like the band, buy the albums they've produced or legally download their music. I firmly believe the more fans they get, the bigger they will get, and the more records we will get. With each record their music evolves and just seems to get better. there talent is unmatched, because most artists don't get over the hump of their best album, and with Skillet, each album becomes their best IMO.
For those of you who might know Skillet, post your favorite songs/videos/pics, etc.
