Someboy already stated this in the A Team thread but here you go.

You might think that in a time where everybody has their own Web site, blog and Twitter account, communication between two individuals would be easier. You'd be very, very wrong. If you need proof, just look at the "Rampage" Jackson-Dana White situation. They're two men with a wealth of options for instant communication at their fingertips, yet they still find themselves in a war of words more suited to a junior high school homeroom than a professional sports organization.

It started when Jackson landed a role as B.A. Baracus (you know, the Mr. T character) in the upcoming A-Team movie, requiring him to postpone his grudge match with fellow former champ Rashad Evans. Since the UFC had already filmed an entire season of The Ultimate Fighter to help promote the bout, and since nothing makes White go from zero to livid faster than his fighters leaving the cage for non-pugilistic pursuits, the UFC president did what he always does -- criticize.

White told anyone who would listen that Jackson was a fool for stepping away from guaranteed money in the Octagon for the illusory promise of an acting career. He said that there was simply no way uttering catchphrases while draped in gold chains would make Jackson a Hollywood star. And he's right. If the acting chops Jackson displayed in Midnight Meat Train are any indication, the guy is not going to become the next Laurence Fishburne.

But as is often the case when two people talk past each other, it wasn't just what White said as much as how he said it. He's never been one to parse his words carefully, and when he painted a picture of Jackson as an ignorant jock walking away from the only thing he can do well for paydays that will never materialize, it understandably rubbed Jackson the wrong way. And, since vowing to quit fighting altogether was as easy as posting a sprawling manifesto to his personal Web site, Jackson went ahead and called it quits earlier this week.

Ever write one of those emails where you later wished you'd clicked 'save' instead of 'send'? Then you know what "Rampage" is going through.

Or maybe it hasn't hit him yet. Maybe, with the promise of The A-Team just in front of him, he still believes that his future is in acting. It isn't. Jackson will be back in the cage, probably sooner rather than later. Partly it will be because the UFC doesn't let go that easily once it has its teeth sunk into a money-making draw. Just ask Randy Couture.

But even without the UFC exercising its legal options, Jackson is going to want to fight again. He's going to miss the reliable paychecks from the UFC, and he might even discover that he misses the feeling of stepping into an arena full of screaming fans. Long days in the gym, well, he's probably not the type of guy to ever miss that.

Before Jackson does or says anything he can't take back, he might want to look at the state of Roger Huerta's career. Though not nearly as high-profile a fighter as Jackson, Huerta also wanted to leave fighting for acting. He also got a fairly gimmicky role in a fairly gimmicky action movie. He heard a lot of big promises from Hollywood types and decided he could make more money without putting his body through habitual torture. But now that his movie is done Huerta seems to have discovered that it wasn't a path to instant stardom after all. Now he wants back in the UFC, and after two straight losses his negotiating position isn't what it once was.

Jackson might want to consider that little cautionary tale before he posts any more updates on his website. There's a reason so few pro athletes make successful, prolonged forays into acting, and it isn't a lack of trying.

He might not be ready just yet, but before long he's going to need to sit down with White and talk this out. And for his part, White needs to learn not to badmouth his own fighters, even if they happen to be on his bad side at the moment. In other words, both men need to start thinking before they speak, regardless of the medium they speak in.

When you get a couple of emotionally-driven guys in a dispute, more outlets for communication only mean more chances for them to say something they don't really mean. Or maybe something they do mean, at least for the moment, but definitely shouldn't say. Modern communication technology makes it easy to say something you'll regret, but it's still just as difficult as ever to say you're sorry.

Yeah it was me who reported it lol, they both are just childish the way they've went about it, using twitter and stuff. Im more dissapointed at White, he owns UFC and he runs around like a spoilt kid, when he doesnt get his way, and jackson shouldnt have signed on for the A-Team, since he had a contract for the UFC, I can see some compensation and seuing going on.

White does act like a little prick. I agree, Q shouldn't have done it and took the fight with Evans and finished out his contract.

Having no idea what any of this is, I'm not big into professional fighting, I heard about this in the background the other day and thought, "If he wants to act, let him act. Who cares if he's successful or not? If it's his dream, he should go for it instead of 'sure money' or whatever bollocks."

It is not big deal any way because if hollywood doesn't pan out, he will be back.

I'm sure Rampage will be back but I think it was very childish what he did. It's like his tantrum when he went on his driving rampage (no pun intended) and UFC was there to help him out in his time of need and pretty much got him back on his feet and all. Then he skips out on a match against Lyoto Machida to do TUF show, which I'm sure he knew even then that he would HAVE TO fight Evans a little after the show ended just like ALL THE OTHER TUF SHOWS HAVE! Then he goes and pulls out of that fight with Evans which was already being hyped before the show even started and then now when the show is on, it's getting it more excited for them to fight against each other but now we'll never have that "clousure"... At least not anytime soon...

Of course, like I always say when there's celebrity shit going down, we don't know what ALL went down and who's telling the entire truth and what have you even though everyone's lives is like broadcasted for the whole world to see online with all that Twitter shit and all. We have a classic case of "He said, she said" and it's White's words against Rampage and Rampage's against White's.

We all know Dana could be a dick and sometimes he is justified. I'm sure he could handle things and this issue a whole lot better than just running his mouth before he knows everything. That's one issue I have with him as a person is he always jumps the gun and starts talking shit, even about rumors and shit. Take the time when Cro Cop supposedly signed with a Japan promotion right after his first fight back in the UFC that he won when he accidently poked the other guy in the eye. (Even without the poke, I believe the match would have been called off pretty soon anyways and it would have been the same result... But anyways...) and Dana only did like a 1 fight deal with him with Cro Cop saying he would sign a 3 fight deal or something after the 1 fight if he won and then the news came out about him signing with Japan and Dana right away jumps all over Cro Cop talking about how he (Cro Cop) fucked him and that he never does 1 fight deals and will never ever do one again because of things like this and he was screwed and blah blah blah...

Yet the whole time Cro Cop had denied the rumors that he signed with another company and White basically didn't believe him and just ripped him apart and in the end Cro Cop was telling the truth and ended up signing his 3 fight deal or however many it is and never once has Dana apologized about his actions and words towards Cro Cop at all... So I'm sure Dana did the same thing with Rampage and of course Rampage has a right to be upset as well because he knows Dana way more than Cro Cop and basically wasn't going to let Dana rip him a new one either.

I'm on both sides, maybe a little more on Dana's/UFC's side more because Rampage should have known better and knew that his fight with Evans was going to be huge and yes UFC did have him fighting alot of fights within a short period of time after his road rage incident, he should have at least done the one fight with Rashad and then do his own thing. For them to come out and say "I/we did so much for each other" is just dumb. They both did alot for each other when it comes down to it, but Rampage still should have known better.

I'm kind of thinking maybe his head just isnt in the right place.... Again??? With how the season has gone so far, Rampage isn't making any fans (especially now with the fight being off) but how he's still winless in the season and then how he's coaching or not coaching his team and when people lose how he just leaves them there. Maybe he was afraid or is afraid of losing? Lyoto would have been tough but I think Rampage could beat him, and its kind of the same with Rashad if not more even unless Rashad was to take him down and use more wrestling than stand up?

I guess we'll never know??? I'm sure though he'll be back next year. I know his Hollywood career isn't going to last. He might be funny and all but he aint no Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and he'll end up being stereo typed into action type movies or fighting type movies. I could see him in some kind of prison or maybe gang like movie but thats really about it. Most of them being cheap b type movies, like released direct to dvd type stuff. He'll be back though. Its just I doubt his fight with Rashad wont be as hyped or as big of a pay day for him or both for that matter as it would have had they fought when they were scheduled to. That also could have easially been the main event and not a co-main event.

I don't know what is up with Rampage. I guess he wants to live out a dream or something but I would have stayed to fight Evans and then go on to win the Lightheavy title.
