View Full Version : Worst movie you've ever seen?

What's the worst movie to have ever seen in the history of existance, and I don't mean just mediorce, bland, alright, or nothing special, I mean down right horrible, like watching someone scrape their nails down a chalkboard while hearing it all on surround sound, the worst of the worst.
For me it's Return of the Swamp Thing, what a piece of boring and predicable shit that was, if I wanted to secretly get back at someone for a past misdeed, I'd give him this movie and tell him it's good.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Next Generation
I remember the first time I ever tried to rent this. It was on vhs when it was new. I went to Blockbuster and rented it and took it home. To my suprise the store messed up and put the original tape in there instead of Part 4. I watched it anyway and absolutely loved it. I was a fan for life right then and there. I went back and told them what happened and they allowed me to rent the Part 4 for free. So, I finally watched that and went back the next day asking if I can have the original back. :p

Hey now... Return of Swamp Thing has the yummy Sarah Douglas in it.
The all-time worst movie I've ever seen hands-down is "This Stuff'll Kill You", a bootlegging movie made in the early 70's. Poor actors, only 2 or 3 locations in the whole movie, garbled or no sound throughout... You won't find a worse movie than this if you look.

Stuck on You. The majority of the theater I was in left. My friend was begging me to leave, but I had to see how they ended that horrific piece of shit.
the Paperboy - not even good on cheesy B-rate levels. A 12 year old paperboy kills old women, so he can meet their hot grandaughters and family members at their funerals. I am not kidding, this is a lame ass peice of shit, the death's are lame, as are the actors. I give it a - 350 on a scale of 1 - 10.

I couldn't truly name the quote unquote "worst of the worst", but I've got a few for a three way tie:
Batman and Robin. Joel Schumacher is good with horror (The Lost Boys), action (Falling Down), and drama (Dying Young), but Batman just was NOT his thing.
Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. This is the alpha and omega end all be all of shitty prequels. This horribly unfunny shitfest even beat The Phantom Menace in the bad prequel department. I expected more from Parker and Stone.
Teen Wolf Too. I happen to like Jason Bateman and I appreciate college comedies more than high school comedies, but let's face it. This was just a rehash of the original in every sense, replacing basketball with boxing, high school with college, and switching Stiles' race. Estee Chandler was pretty good as the wolf's love interest, though. She's worth the watch alone.
I enjoyed Batman Forever, but Batman and Robin was just aweful. I agree with that.
I also really really really really hate the much overrated remake of Dawn of the Dead.

You know, I enjoyed Forever myself. It did have that whole Pan-Asia neon Gotham in it in parts, and Two-Face's makeup was a shit job, not to mention Tommy Lee's way over the top performance, but it did keep some of the dark elements of Batman '89 and Returns. Plus Burton was still involved. Too bad they vetoed his script and Keaton walked. And I fucking loved the sonar prototype suit. Plus Chris O'Donnell was a pretty good Robin.
But Batman and Robin was just a Burton-less travesty.

I had forgotten all about this. I saw it one night on cable TV a long time ago, and it was, in fact, horrible. I remember my friend and I making fun of something the paperboy said. I can't remember what it was now.

I hated The Skeleton Key (mostly because it was based where I live and NONE of it was shot where I live). Plus the whole thing just bored me to death. And I am madly crushing on Kate Hudson.
Years and years ago I seen a movie on HBO called "The Miracle Mile" and as I recall it was so terrible, at ten I was complaining about it for the week following.

Driller Killer. A guy is annoyed by a band living above him and deadlines on his art. Rather than continuing regardless, or maybe even killing the band upstairs, he goes on a rampage and kills loads of homeless guys. And there was a surprising lack of gore.
I'd rather watch Batman and Robin end on end for a week than watch this again.

Mulholland Drive is one of my favorite films ever, and not (just) because of the girl-on-girl. It's a fantastic film, and has everything going for it. I love most of Lynch's work.

The notion of lots of these movies being the worst someone has seen is funny to me. Guess you haven't seen a lot of DTV crap, especially DTV horror.
Worst movie I've ever seen: Feeders.
sCabbOy
08-08-2007, 09:57 PM
I loved Feeders. Those movies made by the Polonia brothers suck, but I love them. There's still a lot of great DTV horror movies though. Just now when anyone can purchase a 300 buck DV camera and download Sony Vegas from a torrent site and make their own movie and then places like Brentwood, Camp, Sub Rosa and Tempe will release them (not to mention about a hundred other places).
I love indie horror. In more cases than not, there's a lot more love and respect that's put into them.

Right now, I'll name my least favorite horror:
Return to Horror High (1987)
-HATE!!! It's so sloppy, the story is completely disposable, there's too many 'oh, it's just a dream/movie/hallucination...' Ach! There was a redeemable quality to it though. Marsha Brady. Great character she played....that's about it. :(

The absolute worst movie I've ever seen? Manos: The Hands of Fate. I actually own a version of it without the MST3K commentary, and the only time I've ever watched, I got about twenty minutes in before deciding that there were better things I could be doing with my time. Like watching paint dry, or setting my pubes on fire.
The 5th Golden Girl
08-09-2007, 10:38 AM
I got into independent films a few years back, and I have seen some really bad films since then, the worst being a movie called "Away(A)wake" by the same people who did a favorite, unknown gem of mine called "Blue Citrus Hearts." "Away(A)wake" was just unwatchable, though. Bad acting, NO plot, bad cinematography... just very experimental and raw, but not in the good way.
The worst film I've seen in the theatre is a toss-up between "Rollerball" and "Super Nova," but to be fair, those movies were so bad my cousins and I had a ball making fun of them. I would never, ever watch either film alone, though, because it's not fun watching a bad movie by yourself. A bad movie can be usually be saved by having a couple friends (in my case, my cousins) to make fun of it with (which we have been doing with movies since we were five-years-old).
I'm glad this is "Worst Movie You've Ever Seen" and not "Worst Movie Ever" because I'm positive there is some really, really bad films out there that I won't even think about renting. Hell, there's probably a bunch of shelved films in Hollywood vaults that'll never see the light of day.
Oh, and I never walk out of a film, even if its horrible, because I've paid to see it. There's been plenty I'd love to leave the theatre during, but I just can't. If all else fails, I sleep or pig out on popcorn.
My cousin and his father walked out on a Tom Arnold movie called "The Stupids" when it was in theatres, and it happened to be on television the other day, and I can see why they got up and left. Oh, boy... horrible film. I don't mind Tom Arnold (I've liked a few of his movies, and his dramatic turn in "Happy Endings" was really, really good), but that was just crap.

Sorry about my previous comment.
Anyway, I hated the Transformers movie because I found it extremely boring, the humor was stupid and totally unneeded, the dialogue was some of the worst ever and the Transformers themselves were hardly in the film and when they were even they were boring. Even the action scenes were terrible. Awful movie all-around.
As I said before, no movie can hold a candle to the awfulness of the Paperboy. I would buy that movie just to burn it but that would mean supporting it.

Yeah, I believe so....
The premise of the entire movie was this kid was lonely and bullied, so he murdered old ladies to meet their hot granddaughters and nice families. The fucking kid's name was even Johnny. My least favorite movie-going experiences were the ones where I got stuck with a date watching movies that not only sucked, but that also had long running times. I don't mind long movies if they're good. But why do so many guys insist on taking me to snoozers that last 3 hours???
I know I'm going to incur the wrath of a lot of people for at least one of my choices but that's okay. I can take it. Do your worst!!!
GODZILLA (the 1998 version with Matthew Broderick) I didn't think it was possible to ruin this movie. All they had to do was make a movie about an iconic monster attacking NY. A simple 88 minute big budget B movie and we'd all go home happy. But noooooo. We got 2 1/2 hours of a stupid fish-eating lizard. Ugh.
THE THIN RED LINE This movie was on a pretentious soap box for over three hours. I never saw an audience react with such hatred before. People were walking out on it and one old man even cursed it.

Those nine hours were better than anything that came out of Hollywood (of that genre and quite a few others) in the last twenty years, IMO.
TCM is a masterpiece in every sense of the word, and that's not following popular opinion (Pop opinion would be saying that Halloween is the classic of all classics, which I won't dispute because I love that film as well, but TCM trumps it in so many ways.)

You could say it was boring and slow, I've heard that a million times and it doesn't bother me, some people like different kinds of movies, but to compare the excellent acting of Gunner Hansen, Marilyn Burns, Jim Siedow and Edwin Neal to anything from a Uwe Boll, that I find to be out of line and rather offensive.

New contender: Death Sentence
Absolutely hated every single element of this film... everything. I don't remember the last time I've had such a horrid movie theater experience. I swear to God, the only thing that kept me there for two fucking hours () was the delicious Nachos & Cheese serving (the theatre's food really improved -- wow). When I finally got to leave, I heard mixed reactions about this piece of shit, and I just felt like screaming just that. Not that I'm some obsessive fan of Kevin Bacon, but why on Earth did he choose that trash out of all the other scripts?
Not the worst film I've ever seen, but it's certainly up there. At least I still have The Brave One to look forward to. :)
I think Hack Slash is just pulling our chain. People have listed movies like Evil Breed, which I thought was a good movie, along with Darkness Falls.
Seriously though, until you guys have seen half of those old black and white public domain horror movies such as I Eat Your Skin, or a movie like Bog, you honestly have never seen the worst movie ever.
People list movies like Jason X and Leprechaun, but I bet I can think of ten movies easy that I would rather watch Jason X then.

Actually now that you mentioned it, Hostel belongs on this list for me. Boring torture porn, boring characters.

I LOVE that show! I read somewhere that they averaged over 700 jokes per episode. They weren't all funny jokes, but with so many coming at you so fast, you're bound to laugh eventually. Great, great show. And it's the only way to watch bad movies.

I loved the episodes with Joel. But was never a big fan of the Mike years. Nothing against him but just those years, for me, weren't as good. I missed the mad scientists and invention exchanges.

Murder Set Pieces
People list movies like Jason X and Leprechaun, but I bet I can think of ten movies easy that I would rather watch Jason X then.
Which would be something called your "opinion".
Personally, I'd say the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a heaping bowl of tripe; the only reason I own the DVD, I'm sorry to say, is because I own parts two and three. My collection would look positively silly without the first one, awful as it may be, sitting alongside the sequels.
That being said, the worst movie I've ever seen would have to be Save the Last Dance. I saw it in a theater, not once but twice, with a girl I had been seeing at the time and passed out from sheer boredom each time.

just to name a few that stick out. it takes a lot for me to say I truly hate a movie, honestly, some of my favorites include stuff like Devil Fish.
and Banana Rama speaks the truth, The Paperboy is fucking atrocious. I don't remember much of it, I saw it on video in 5th grade and don't intend on rewatching. All I remember was that the kid was a little shit head, and he got taken away by the cops or something at the end. Lame.
