That said, this one's not necessarily a bad film--just a mediocre one that's bordering on being something more interesting.

For something to get the lowest rating of the low (Trash it!), it's gotta be either utterly incompetent or just completely boring. I didn't really find The Collector to be either of those. It's certainly not great, but it's not awful either. Somewhere in between.
