Wow... really good question. Unless Faith has gained more self-control, I think it would come down to River and Buffy. Between those two..... Buffy. I have to give her the edge due to experience.

I wouldn't want them to fight each other though. Unless it was over me. :)

See and I thought it was Faith's lack of self-control that would give her the edge over Buffy if it was a death match kind of thing, just figured Buffy would be the one more likely to hold back at first not really wanting to hurt anyone unless she had to. So I can see Faith using that to her advantage, then after Buff is gone Faith takes it to River, who just destroys Faith.

I go for Faith because she was damn hot! I don't know anything about character or their powers though. After the second season Buffy was not a show I watched for story. :D

I was thinking just the opposite. I thought Buffy would beat Faith. Don't get me wrong I like Faith ( great character ), but she has never beaten Buffy and I don't believe Buffy would hold back because she didn't the time she stabbed her in the gut.

To me it's a toss up between River and Buffy. But I had to go with Buffy. We really didn't get to see enough of River being a badass to get an idea of how strong she is. Sure she can fight and is great with guns ( but I assume guns are out of this fight... if not she wins hands down ), but I still don't think we've seen enough of her to grasp how strong she is supposed to be.

Tough poll, maybe I'll rewatch Serenity and see if I change my mind.

One question though... Where's Fray?

Faith's problem is that she's trying to avoid going out of control these days. So she'll be filled with self doubt and that will be her downfall. Buffy has become more warrior minded than when she and Faith had last fought, which will keep Buffy from holding back in a fight. That leaves Buffy vs River and while River has skill in hand to hand combat, Buffy and Faith both have savvy. They also both have Slayer strength and endurance, which will allow either one to outlast River in a fight. If Buffy and Faith were forced to fight River first, before each other, they would be able to wear her down first and the knock her out. Thus leaving it to the two of them to go at it.

If it is just the three of them, I have to give it to Faith because, a. I don't know who the hell River is, so I imagined River Phoenix, and he's dead, and b. Buffy is too dependent on her friends, so if she's alone in the fight without the aid of witchcraft or a plan or help, she won't make it.

Buffy has fought Faith without the help of Angel or the other Scoobies. And River is from "Firefly"/"Serenity" and human. Against humans who know nothing about magick, Buffy can handle them.
