Though I hate the very idea of this remake, that is pretty freakin' sweet.

Yeah, but everyone hates the idea of every remake ever.

I do like the teaser poster, though. It's effective in its simplicity.

"Why don't they ever bring back or remake good shows, like 'BJ and the Bear.' Now there's a concept I can't get enough of, a man and his monkey."

Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn for Sega. Or my scorn for remakes. Sorry guys, but ya'll know my policy. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

ANOES was horribly broken... looked like a pile of ground beef that used to be a biker who was drinking and driving at 110MPH and hit a guard rail and you get the picture...

The only thing that bugs me just a little about this teaser poster is that if feels like Freddy should be doing a little more with his glove than just raising it up. I'm thinking of something like raising his index finger and having the blade touch the rim of his hat, while the other fingers are bent downward. It would be like a kind of mock sallute to anyone who's looking at it. I think that would express a bit more of Freddy's personality.

Broken.- Master Taffer

I didn't see anything that couldn't be fixed by simply making a better sequel. FREDDY VS. JASON took a step in the right direction by taking Freddy back to his darker roots. Go a bit further in that direction and there could be a good solo Freddy film there.

Can't go wrong with a good policy like that, David.

In a way, I see your point. As for myself on the movie overall, I'm 50/50 until I see the finished film. The poster is indeed nice though.

The NOES series was no more broken than any other relatively low budget series that went on for an extended period of time. If the NOES series is broken in terms of quality in regards to films people here watch or own in their collection, by all means, send me your DVDAf lists so I can check out some of the great movies I'm missing. Sure, FD was crazy silly, but throw that one out the window and the entire series has something going for it. Even Part 5, which I like least, is visually stimulating with entertaining Krueger to say the least.

The thing is, in the eighties at least the people were willing to embrace the characters as icons and treated the legendary villains as the centerpiece of the movie. It seems as though horror is the only genre where people lately actually beg filmmakers to bore them and barely show the villain. There's a reason why the Joker and Batman popped up all the time in Dark Knight. There's a reason why Andy Dufresne and Red are at the forefront in Shawshank Redemption. Then, a horror film comes along and the consensus is to have 5 stupid cardboard characters mosey around for 45 minutes until something good happens. That's one thing I loved about the F13 remake, it just flew nonstop and it had you right from the get-go.
