Reports are conflicting, so I'm going to post this here until we know more.

Amer. Werewolf remake? (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=17234)

Oy, here we go again. Looks like we're getting another AMERICAN WEREWOLF movie in the near future. But will it be a remake, or a sequel? There are some conflicting reports...

The homeboys over at Bloody Disgusting originally reported that John Landis sold the remake rights to AMERICAN WEREWOLF to Dimension Films. That, of course, makes me want to puke... But, the kooks over at AintItCoolNews have their own source on the matter, saying that it won't be a straight-up remake, but a series of movies with a similar angle. So, basically, AN AMERICAN WEREFOLF IN CHINA; AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN GREENLAND, etc. This is slightly better than just remaking it, but then I begin to think about AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS... and then I become sad.

This doesn't seem close to happening yet, but obviously it's in the cards. We'll be getting some form of AMERICAN WEREWOLF film in the future, whether you like it or not. That said, it's Dimension, so for all we know it could take eons to get off the ground. (HELLRAISER remake, where are you..?)

Man, I'm not even going to complain anymore.
I'd thought I was over complaining about remakes because it was the present trend and nothing is safe, but then I read this a few days ago and I felt a rant coming on.
But I counted to 10, had a couple cups of coffee and calmed down.
I will just say that I hope they get a talented writer and film maker to do this because the original, IMO is the best Werewolf film ever made.
The sequel wasn't anywhere close to being as good.

I think they should do An American Werewolf in Little China and have Jack Burton kick some werewolf ass.

I would watch that in a heartbeat.

If Fulci were still alive, I'd love to see Lucio Fulci's An American Werewolf in Matool.

I think London was the best Werewolf movie ever, and wouldn't want to see a remake. I wouldn't mind seeing one or two more sequels... Like maybe An American Werewolf in Africa. I think with today's CG it would be interesting to see a werewolf compete with a lion for dinner.

On the lighter side, something comedic would be like A Japanese Werewolf in America, where the werewold fucks his prey up with karate before devouring them.

The only way to do that properly is Godzilla-style rubber suits.

They sort of did that movie. It was called "Kibakichi"...

...And they used Godzilla monster voices for the roars of the monsters in said movie.
