Maybe you've got a section of lyrics stuck in your head but you just can't figure out what song they're from, or you've seen a film that has a song in it you like and you want to know the name of that song. This is the thread where we come together and try and help one another name that song.
In my case, I'm trying to figure out who wrote a song that was used in the film Dream a Little Dream. I've seen the song called "Where Is She?" in the past, and the band listed as Blue Future, but I can find no proof that either the band or the song exists. I've looked for the band name, the song name, the lyrics... all to no avail.
Six or seven years ago I came into possession of a really low quality copy of the song that was supposedly taken from a homemade album backup, but I'd like to find the song on CD (if such a thing exists).
Click on this link (http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/30/1227484/where_is_she.mp3) to listen to a small clip from the song. Someone, please -- for the sake of my sanity -- tell me you know the name/band/album that this song was featured on.

Where is She - Blue Future

———————-
Where is she?
Where is she?
I’ve been looking night through dawn.
Where is she?
Where is she?
I’ve been searchin’ on and on…
And I’ve been lookin’ a lifetime
Just to find her
You don’t know…
And I’ve been hurting for so long
Well it’s starting
Now to show…
Where is she?
Where is she?
I keep waiting for a call…
Where is she?
Where is she?
I keep pacing down the hall…
And maybe it’s an illusion
That keeps sayin’,
“That’s the one…”
Maybe it’s just confusion
That keeps playin’
When I know that there is no one…
[Chorus] Where is she now?
I don’t know–oh…
Where is she now?
I don’t know–oh…
Maybe I have been hiding
In another state of mind?
Could it be I could find her
in a moment–but I just won’t take the time?
[Chorus] I’ve been searchin’ on and on
I’ve been lookin’ night through dawn
I don’t know… (Where is she now)
I’ve been waiting for her call
I’ve been pacin’ down the hall
But I don’t know–oh!
Where is she?
Where is she?
Blue Future is Larry and Tom Weir
There are too many big name artists, and you will NOT be included on the “Dream A Little Dream” soundtrack! Good news: “We’ll put it on the B side (back in 1989 they still had vinyl singles) of the “Rock On” single.
Thanks for enjoying one of my all time favorite compositions. I did sing it & used a few of my friends and studio guys to back me up and brother Tom was actually the other 1/2 of Blue Future.
This was an e-mail exchange he had with some guy, removed the unimportant stuff.
First part is why it's not on the soundtrack, the second is that he and his brother sang it.

Where in the hell did you find that information, Doog? I've been hunting for information on the song for a very, very long time.
ADDED:
Furthermore, is the song currently commercially available?
And thanks for the information. It's alluded me for a long time.

I don't supposed anyone knows the name of the song, I'm making an educated guess that it's by Chicago, but the song they play during the movie Three Men and a Baby, which goes something like "She wants to be daddy's girl"
I know that's not the best description, but I'm hoping someone knows

Here ya go Fonz.
Peter Cetera - Daddy's Girl
When the sun goes down and it's getting late
You say it's time for bed
She just takes her time
Acting like she never heard a word you said
Little baby wanna hold you tight
She don't ever wanna say good night
She's a lover, she wanna be Daddy's Girl
When the morning comes
And it's time to go start another day
She won't let you leave, and she does her best
To try to make you stay
Pretty baby gonna start to cry
She don't ever wanna say good bye
She's a lover, she wanna be Daddy's Girl
She don't ever wanna be without you
Never have to worry she won't doubt you
Then she puts her head upon your shoulder
Says she marry you when she get older
When the time has come, and she's old enough
To be on her own
She won't understand why you're feelin' sad
Cause she's leaving you all alone
Little woman gonna make you cry
You don't ever wanna say good bye
She's a lady, she'll always be Daddy's Girl
Little woman gonna break your heart
Gonna miss her when you're both apart
She's a lady, but she'll always be Daddy's Girl
She'll always be Daddy's Girl
She'll always be Daddy's Girl
She'll always be Daddy's Girl
She'll always be Daddy's Girl
She'll always be Daddy's Girl
She'll always be Daddy's Girl

I cannot believe I have to come to the F13 Board to find the name of a song that has been stuck in my head all day. I have tried to search the song in my search engine to find the lyrics and the name of the song, but for some reason it will not complete the appropriate search. I know it is by Stevie Nicks and the lyrics go like this "Just like the one we heard, sing a song, keep on singing, oooh baby, ooh!". I know it is a popular song and I even typed in those lyrics and it would not display the song in the search engine and it has driven me insane all day at work.
Someone on these forums I know has the name of the song! Please! :)
Edge of Seventeen.
Oh, and here's a link to the lyrics as they're usually misinterpreted:

Thank you Chex, you have no idea how frustrated I was and having my search engine become more difficult than it should have been.
Cheers my friend!
No problem. :)
I went throught the same frustration some time ago when I heard the song again for the first time in years. Enjoy!

OMG...Can someone please help me out? There is a song that plays at the end of this clip from America's Next Top Model Cycle 9 (December 5th 2007) when Tyra Banks is telling Bianca why she got eliminated and what she needs to do in order to make it in the modeling industry. It starts playing right when Bianca knows she is eliminated and while Tyra is talking to her and up until the end credits. It is a beautiful song and would absolutely love to know what it is. Can someone, anyone help me out? I have asked and asked on The CW message boards and on YouTube where the clip is located but noone will even respond. It sounds alot like a song from the group 'SFX Astral Projection' but, I have looked on iTunes on their albums and nothing sounds like this particular song.
Here is the clip of the last few minutes of the episode:

Given the nature of the show, I think it's probably music written specifically for the programme, Shamrock. Unless they release a soundtrack, I don't think it's very likely that music will surface isolated.

For the sake of my sanity, could someone please tell me what this song is (http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/30/1227484/Sample.mp3)? It's used in the final moments of the Speed Racer trailer (hence why the clip is so disjointed), and I know I've heard it before. It sounds like it's by BT, but I can't work out what song it is.

After a two day trek through the interweb, I finally found out what the above song is -- it's called 'Bad Fisted Mutha', and it was written by BT and Nick Phoenix. It's part of a film advertising-only soundtrack CD called 300 Years Later (http://www.300yearslater.com/).
It's one of those albums that only studio bigwigs can get their hands on. I recognize the song because it's been used in other marketing material over the years.
I can remember this one song I remember from a MADD public service announcement. It was this joyous, upbeat, almost choir-ish music and there was alot of "oh-oh" and things like that in it. It pisses me off because I have heard that song before on the radio. I think another line was something along the lines of "It'll be alright, oh oh yeah"
It plays at 1:02 in this trailer

Classic rock song, sounds 70ish but possibly 60s. Has male and female vocals. The one line I have in my head right now is a drawn out "Heeey Virginiaaa." They repeat this phrase numerous times. It is NOT the folk song by Bill Amesbury, that keeps coming up in my searches. I can't seem to find anything else that matches it in all my searches. I am pretty sure they say 'Hey Virginia' but since I can't find anything else that matches so its possible I heard it slightly wrong.
**ADDED**
Nevermind got it..Gimme Shelter by Rolling Stone.. totally had it wrong, the chorus vocal is not "Hey Virginia", but "War Children". Older song so audio quality bad.

I have one that doesn't come up in Google at all. It's kind of a power ballad, country rockish. The only lyrics I really remember are something like "Little tree keep on growing" and "Mighty river keep on flowing". The only song that comes up in Google is a Derek and the Dominoes song but it's not the right one. Hope someone can figure this one out!
