Anybody listen.

Their claim to fame is that they are four classically trained cellists that have made albums since the late 90's of heavy metal covers including Pantera, Faith No More and Predominately Metallica. They also have some original songs.

An Acquired taste, but a really very interesting musical experience.

I like their first cd. I never herd anything else.

I love Apocalyptica. They're the best band to never break into the American mainstream -- which is a plus side, as far as I'm concerned -- and while I don't rate their cover work too highly, I absolutely adore their original content.

If you only own their first album, Rich, I suggest going and getting some of their original content. I'm not hot on Plays Metallica by Four Cellos.

Cult is probably my favorite of their albums (the second disc of the special edition release of Cult has Hope Vol. 2 on it, which is my favorite song ever). I tend to prefer the "Vol. 2" versions of their songs. The addition of lyrics really helps, although Hope Vol. 1 is pretty good.

I only got it because it was Metallica music (music I know and love) in a way that I have never herd it before. I said, "Metallica covers on cellos?!?" Naturally I was curious to hear it. I love it.

I'm not a huge Metallica fan, although the Apocalyptica version of Nothing Else Matters (which is on their second album rather than the first) moves me deeply.

I've got most of their albums. I need to pick up Worlds Collide, which is out in September of this year.
