I just got back from a visit to my local movie store and picked up 5 films to add to my collection. Has anyone heard of them? They are...

Silent Night, Deadly Night
Invitation
Oxygen
Dead Doll
Satanic

If you have seen any of those can you give me your thoughts on them?

SNDN is really fun slasher. Linnea shows off her deliciousness.

Is it the uncut version?

He's lucky if he found SNDN on DVD. That thing's OOP and I can't find it anywhere (except eBay).

SNDN is the only one I bought today that is not on DVD. I found it for $3.00 in its original box.

I just finished watching Oxygen and I wouldn't really classify it as a horror. More of a drama however it wasn't to bad none the less. The story was slow at times but for the kind of movie it was it was expected.

SNDN - the uncut DVD is great.
Initiation: if it's the one I have it sucks.
Satanic: boring.

I have the double feature of Silent Night Deadly Night 1 and 2. Those are cool slasher movies.

I very much wish I had that double feature. Any where to get it besides eBay?

My suggestion would be to check out the local pawn shops and used video stores in your area. I haven't been able to find SNDN yet, but I have come across 4, count em, 4 copies of Madman. I paid anywhere from $2.50 to $5.00 for them. I kept one for myself, and turned around and sold the rest on Ebay for about 25-40 bucks.

Used video shops are the place to go. The ones around the Pittsburgh area get in all kinds of obscure stuff and never seem to know what gems they have. I have been able to find Hell Night for $2.50, The Stand for $6.00 and Dr. Giggles for $3.00 (which I sold on Ebay after learning of the re-release)! However, SNDN keeps alluding me, but one day, one day.

Would The Exchange be one of those used video stores you go to?

The only one I've seen is Silent Night, Deadly Night and from what I remember it was a decent flick.

I finally lucked out and found the Silent Night Deadly Night double feature DVD this afternoon at a used DVD place in Dallas for $6. I didn't realize the first film was uncut but so much the better.....

The best deal I ever got on Ebay was #298/500 of the I Drink Your Blood initial DVD release that was autographed by like 5 different actors. I paid $13 shipped from a dude who ran a pawn shop somewhere. If you get the regular, non-signed edition of IDYB for $13, you got a pretty good deal.

Yes indeed sir! I used to work at one, and I absolutely loved it. It's always a treasure hunt there. However, there are rumors that it is about to go corporate. :meh:

The only thing I've ever hated about The Exchange is the one's where I live have all there movies locked in cases. Sooooooo if you find a movie you want to buy or just look at you have to try and flag down an employee to unlock the case for you.

And then when they do unlock the case for you they stand over your shoulder like your going to pocket the damn thing and run with it.

But other then that I love the store.

Sorry I'm a little off topic here, I'll quit now.

I loved this store when I was in college in Pittburgh. Went to the one in Downtown, Robinson, and the one that isn't far from Greentree across the street from the Z-Spot tattoo studio.

I've only seen SNSD and I think it's a fun slasher. The sequel is complete crap because it's pretty much just scenes from the previous film.

I worked at the Robinson one. You couldn't miss me. I was the short red-headed chick who always wore the horror shirts. And all Exchanges work like that, with the cases locked. I would always just strike up convos with people, rather than lurking behind them like a vulture.

Still on the hunt for SNDN. I know it will turn up at an Exchange eventually for an insanely low price of 2.50 or 5 bucks.

I've seen a few used copys of the DF Silent Night, Deadly Night DVD. It was in this CD/DVD store in LA called Amoeba Records. They were selling them for $50.00

$50!!! My god, that's horrible!

That's what I thought! I realize it's OOP, but $50 is still a bit steep if you ask me. Even though I like collecting DVD's, I didn't bother. I already have them seperately.

Not only that, but you can usually snag it for around 25-40 on Ebay. Which is still insane.

If it's the Satanic I've seen (and it sounds like Scabboy has too), it's crappy. SNDN's fun, don't know about the others.

But it has GARBAGE DAY (http://youtube.com/watch?v=i7gIpuIVE3k&feature=PlayList&p=0657A38532F50EE5&index=0).

Thats awesome! If I remember right the store in Robinson was the store I got my first F13 shirt. I probably have seen you. I do remember a red head working at one so it could be you.

Thanks for the info on the movies everyone! I have some more I want to post up later.

Once again I was at my local video store and picked up a few movies I haven't seen. They are...
Death Tunnel
Haunting Desires
Blood Reaper
Tooth Fairy
Dead & Breakfast
The Girl in the Basement
Lady in the Box

If anyone has any opinions on these movies and would like to share them it would be greatly appreciated!
