Ok.. I know there is a huge love/hate debate about the new Halloween.. and about if the new Loomis is good.. some like McDowell and not the film, others like the film and not McDowell, some love it all.. some hate it all....etc etc.

Well.. pretend that never happend.

You have just been hired to remake the film. Donald is gone... who would you cast.

Now forget "I dont want a remake I would make a sequel" The studio wants a remake.. who would you cast.

I'd drag up Donald Pleasence's corpse, and he'd still easily outclass everyone else. :X

On that list, I think Kurt Russell would be an...interesting choice.

An interesting fanboy rumor from way back (which im 99% sure had no truth to it)was Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Samantha Loomis.

I forgot to put him on the list... but Stallone would be nice.. or Sam Jackson.

Kurt Russel is JPs Idea..which when you think about it.. is a good and different idea.. especially now that he is older.

Sly Stallone as Dr. Loomis? :o Considering what Busta got away with, Sly would fuck Myers up.

Holy nuts. I just imagined the following coming out of Sly's mouth:

"Get back on that *beep* and tell them exact who **beep** out **beep** and **beep** last **beep**!"

I liked McDowell. Russell would be cool. But Hopkins is the best of the choices listed there. He would own that role.
Would anyone seriouslt consider Shatner? I hope not...

I agree with this.

I'd be game for Russell if he wore an eye patch & ate food with his fingers.

Seriously, they should let Busta have a go at Loomis.

Loomis (to Marion) - Awwe, shit! You dumb bitch, you muthufuckin' let that bitch-ass escape! Aw, fuck!

Nah, I've always thought Patrick Stewart would make a GREAT Loomis.

Hypno, I agree about Patrick Stewart making a great Loomis. Hell, he'd be a pretty great anything.

How about the greatest actor ever as Loomis: Wings Hauser

During the casting days, I was into

Jeff Bridges as Dr. Loomis
Robert Forster as Sheriff Brackett

(Zombie had mentioned Bridges as a possibility.)

Jeff Bridges? Hell yes! He probably would have turned in a decent performance in Zombieween. And after Myers was done away with, he could bring all his victims back to life to boot!

Ben Kingsley for me. I saw some pics of him from a movie where he had a goatee, and thought he looked very Loomis-esque

Anthony Hopkins

Definitely! The thing about Loomis is that although he is a hero, he is a dark character. Hopkins would be perfect for it.

For me it was a toss up between Malcolm McDowell and Anthony Hopkins... I chose Malcolm McDowell. I like Anthony Hopkins, he's a great actor but... :)

Back when this flick was still in the planning stages, I threw my hat into the ring with Sir Ben Kingsly like Josh1971. Species and Rules of Engagement the man exibited a twitchy quality in both flicks, one could not help but think he could play the much harried psychoanalyst.
