Anyone here watch this show when it originally aired? It's kinda embarassing to admit I like the show, but I can't be the only one.

Also season 7 is due out in august.:)

I'm in no way ashamed to say I love 70's/80's and some 90's sitcoms, and Full House was one that I grew up with. Like most long running shows, it ran out of steam by season 5 and I left, but I did come back for the final episode (as I usually do with shows I invested time in.)

They don't make them like this anymore.

why is it embarrasing to admit you like this show, I love this show, Joey is the best he's just like me, lol, I don't think I missed one episode of this show from the late 80's to the early 90's, I hadn't seen it again until I found out TBS played it a couple of years ago, than they stopped and Fox was playing it in the mornings...than they stopped so I watched it on CTS...than they moved it to a bad time slot so I'm back to not watching it, lol

but this is one of my favourite shows, ever

I know only one other person who likes Full House, and everybody else seems to just laugh when I mention I'm a fan of it.:) It's a show I can't get enough of. I have got all the seasons released so far on dvd, and am awaiting the seventh next month. Nice to see more people enjoy this show.

that's funny, I don't know anyone who doesn't like this show, well there are people that don't care for it in the sense that they would never laugh at anyone who likes it, it's just a great show:)

Remember that time he started quoting Shakespeare and after he finishes D.J. says something like "Duane, I didn't know you were so versatile" and Duane's choked up and on the verge of tears and he says "whatever". classic.

I remember this show. I agree that Joey was a great character, kept me laughing in a weird, non-funny way, but what the hell.

How many seasons were there of Full House?

CanadianFonzie
07-27-2007, 01:23 AM
there were 8

I remember watching Full House when it was on, but I guess I got enough of it, as I've never really watched the re-runs. I feel the same way about Family Matters.

However, what I do remember most a bout Full House is that, toward the end, when Stephanie was in that band, I had the hugest crush on Gia - played by the scrumptious Marla Sokoloff. I recall that, well, it must have been cold in the studio whenever she was around and it always surprised me that such nipping would be allowed on a family show.

I don't get how she went from being Stephanie's bully to her best friend, I forgot if there was an episode that showed the transition

BlakeTyner
07-27-2007, 03:14 AM
Yeah, there was an episode that detailed it. I can't recall details, but I remember it took place in Uncle Jesse's club, in one of the booths. Gia, IIRC, had some kind of problem (family?) and Stephanie helped her with it, and they got to be friends.

The episode was on Nick at Nite not too long ago, because I caught that scene while channel surfing.

~Blake

ETA: I think, actually, Gia's problem was with her schoolwork.

CanadianFonzie
07-27-2007, 04:10 AM
yes it was her school work I do believe...I do remember an episode when they didn't like each other and Gia did something embarrasing to Stephanie so Stephanie posted up Gia's report card, because of the horrible marks she was getting, and she was crying and Stephanie felt bad...I probably would have felt bad too

I was googling season 8 and this popped up as one of the links. Love the cardboard house, but I already have the other seasons.

I don't know why, but I always found the episode where Stephanie went to the make out party to be HILARIOUS!!!!!

I used to watch Full House ALL the time when I was little. I was actually watching it regularly about a year or two ago.

Long live Uncle Jesse's mullet.

Full House was quite the ill show. So many classic characters, episodes, and moments.

The only thing I didn't like about Full House...Michelle getting Amnesia? I'm not spoiler tagging that. It was the stupidest idea ever, and I actually feel better for those of you who haven't seen it and got this warning. I never got my warning, and I'm less of a person now for having seen it.

Blindsided by a crappy plot. That's fucked up.

Speaking of the episodes where Michelle gets Amnesia, those occured durring season 8. Both episode were called "Michelle Rides Again Part 1" and "Michelle Rides Again Part 2". Also it just so happens that both episodes are the series final. It was John Stamos who didn't want to come back for the 9th season, where NBC was going to pick up the series. Most of the others agreeed it was time to move on also. That's why those two episodes don't feel like a final to the series, they weren't meant to be the end.

But yeah, those episodes were not very good, two of the worst if you ask me.

wasn't there a christmas episode filmed later with Mickey Rooney in it? ad the twins were scared of Santa Claus cause Joey did something scary while he was in the suit...I know there was such an episode, but was it made after the finale because the characters looked older

The only thing to my knowledge that was filmed after the show ended were interviews, etc, but no extra show. There was an E! True Hollywood Story filmed also. The last Christmas episode of the show was in season 6 titled "A Very Tanner Christmas". The twins were born in early season 5, but when season 6 rolled around, the twins went from being a couple months old to being about 2 years old.

Maybe that's the episode you are refering too?

did that episode have Mickey Ronney as a store owner and (as I remember) two people (I think Uncle Jesse and Michelle) get locked in the store?

The best part about being in the Full House generation is that I grew up and learned that Bob Saget is a filthy, drug loving man.

Its just after a while you could tell they went from a nice family that enjoyed being there in the first few seasons than towards the end it looked like they were tired of being there.

I remember seeing some of Bob's stand-up stuff, it's pretty wierd, I mean there he is swearing like a sailor talking about underaged sex, while I used to watch him raise 3 girls and a Joey on Full House, and well as entertain families hosting America's Funniest Home Video's

The episode is called "The Greatest Birthday on Earth" where Jesse, Michelle, and Steph get locked in a garage on Michelle's birthday.

He was like two different people when it came to Full House and his Stand-Up Comedy.

see I knew you'd mix it up with that, while it wasn't that episode

it was completely different...except for the getting locked in the store part, but I can't remember too much about it, I remember, like I said, the twins seeing Joey in a Santa costume and getting scared, and I think it turned out Mickey Ronney's character was some kind of spirit who locked them in because they had no Christmas spirit...that's a big guess off little memory though

MaDMaNMaRz
08-11-2007, 04:10 AM
I think he locked them in because he was a mean old bastard. I don't remember too much from that episode either

I remember one episode where DJ went on a diet, but she only ate ice cubes.

CanadianFonzie
08-11-2007, 04:46 AM
wait, so your saying you saw that episode too? and I'm not crazy?

MaDMaNMaRz
08-11-2007, 04:50 AM
Yes I saw it

WAIT, I think he locked them in because Michelle bought a gift for someone, and she wanted to return it, but the store didn't offer refunds. So Jesse was going to walk out with a different item of the same price, so he locked them in called the cops.

LOL, it just came to me all of a sudden.

CanadianFonzie
08-11-2007, 04:54 AM
that's it, I remember that...but wasn't Mickey Rooney like some kind of Christmas Spirit?, for some reason I remember it being like that

and I guess that wasn't filmed after the finale, it's just everyone, especially Michelle, looked so much older, by maybe 2 years, I remember Michelle had her hair cut short to the time Mary-Kate and Ashley were maybe 10 (just an estimate) yet they still made her dumb while she was clearly out grown the dumb=cute thing, it just bugs me as to how that could have possibly taken place during the shows actual run and not after

MaDMaNMaRz
08-11-2007, 04:56 AM
Nah, he wasn't a Christmas spirit.....just a regular guy. But I do recall him not having Christmas spirit, because his family stopped talking to him. I do remember him dressing up as Santa as well.

Wasn't the series finale that 2 part where she fell off the horse and lost her memory?

CanadianFonzie
08-11-2007, 04:59 AM
yes it was, and in this Christmas episode she looked older than she did in the finale episodes

and it was Joey that dressed as Santa, not Mickey

MaDMaNMaRz
08-11-2007, 05:11 AM
I thought they both did? I haven't seen that episode in a long time.

As mean as this sounds, i've always wanted to punch Kimmy. She was so annoying, it wasn't even funny.

CanadianFonzie
08-11-2007, 07:04 PM

Oh Lord. Full House is completely my shameful secret and secret guilty pleasure. I have seen every episode about a million times. I don't know why I feel so dirty for liking it, haha.

And here is a true story for you. A bizzare and true story at that. My mother refused to let me take my picture with the president of my undergraduate college because she said, and I quote her, "He looks just like Joey from Full House, and a man stupid enough to have a coconut fall on his head and knock him out does not deserve to live."

The episode she was referring to was when the family went to Hawaii and a coconut fell on Joey's head.

Oh I forgot to mention yet another bizarre incident in relation to the story I told above. About a year later, the president of my undergraduate ended up dying from a very rare brain cancer. My mother found the irony and couldn't help but ask, "I wonder if a coconut did him in."

She couldn't help but feel a little guilty and bad about what she had earlier said.

From what I understand the leading cause of death among scuba divers is a coconut to the head from when they come up on islands. Not sure how true that is, that was just what I was told by some scuba enthusiasts and you know how gullible I am.

On topic,

I grew up with this show, the same age as Stephanie Tanner. She was a bit of a TV crush for me. I always enjoyed the show. At work, we have a tv to entertain us during slow shifts and more times than not when 5:00 hit (or whatever time it comes on nick at night) we are watching it.

My whole life I wanted to be the cool Uncle Jesse when my sisters have kids. Now that my neice is ten, I'm realizing.... I'm the Uncle Joey. :duh:
