"The Hellraiser Chronicles: Lifebringer" is a Hellraiser fanfilm written and directed by myself, Scarecrow, and acting as part of a proposed series of such films which started with "The Hellraiser Chronicles: A Question of Faith" by R.N.Milward.

Filmed in the Summer of 2006, Lifebringer has now almost completed a basic edit. Following this numerous inserts, effects work, grading and sound design still needs doing, but the films certainly come together.

The first official sreencaps have now been released and show scenes from various parts of the 30 minute (aprox) film.

Freaky Cenobite. Love it. Reminds me of the Surgeon from Hellseeker. I look forward to watching this, Scarecrow. :)

Pretty much the entire film has been done with a basic edit, the real work on effects, grading and sound now begins. I will also consider putting together a teaser trailer as enough usable footage presents itself. For now, here's a couple more screencaps.

Effects work is coming along nicely now and sound design and music are starting to be looked over. Some CGI issues need dealing with currently.

A couple of new stills from the film. Sound design is going well with some scenes completed whislt effects and grading have been finished on large chunks of the short.

Thanks for the comment, the editing is progressing at a steady pace but always moving forward with sound design under way for the first Act of the film. About four scenes need oompleting visually and then it's all about the details.

May I present "The Hellraiser Chronicles: Lifebringer" official teaser trailer, running at 1 minute 30 seconds, (although youtube seems to have added 40 seconds of black at the end!)

It's short, and the quality was lowered do it'd upload but still, please leave feedback!

May I present the cover art to "The Hellraiser Chronicles: Lifebringer". As you can see, I'm a big fan of the old fashioned drawn art over photo montages. The film is now finished and the DVD is available to any interested, I'm talking to the guys who burned them later but we're asking for a cost covering donation that'll probably be between £1-2 ($2-4) plus postage costs.

The DVD comes ina slip case with cover, burnt DVD (general blank disc) with Menus, Films, Behind the Scenes, commentary, stills gallery, trailers and an original short film.

Ian Frost is the brilliant, skilled sculptor and effects guy who helped us out on "The Hellraiser Chronicles: Lifebringer" and as a thankyou, I put together this showcase video for him, featuring sequences from the film.

I remember reading about this a while back. The film looks real good. I hope to check it out sometime! Do you sell the DVD in NTSC format? Also, you ship to the US, right?

The teaser looks cool --- will you ever put a hi-res version online?

As a fanfilm, it's non-profit so I try to avoid the word "sell". :) But yeah, I have NTSC and PAL copies (obviously PAL is slightly higher quality) and will ship to the US. The charges are for the disc, the box, printing cover art (as seen above) and shipping; to the US it comes to about £3.50 in total. I know this can be more with the exchange rate but I hope it's considered fair.

You mean non-youtube. ;) In both videos there are full versions, but not sure about hosting. That said, now The Hellbound Web has moved new server, the increased space make it a possibility to put there. And thanks for the kind words. :D

Hey Scarecrow, is there a preferred means of making my cost-covering-donation? How much would it be once UK postage is factored in.

Scarecrow

The above figure of £3.50 is with postage factored in, going as cheap as I can. I generally suggest using paypal, its the easiest way, using an email which I'd happily give via a PM. Glad you're interested in the film. :D

I think I may purchase a copy from you via PayPal soonish. I'm a huge Hellraiser fan, and I haven't seen any fan films for the series. I know there is another one I wanted to see entitled A Question of Faith (and it also bares 'The Hellraiser Chronicles' title). So, if I may ask, how much did your film cost? Also, what kind of camera did you use? Where did you get the puzzle box? How much was the cost of the Cenobite make-up/costume? I'm curious because I've been wanting to do a rather small Hellraiser fan film for a while. Sorry if I seem to be asking too many questions.

You'll have to fill me in on where to send the money to.

"A Question of Faith" is actually the first in this series. We have a title sequence that both half hour films use, the idea being that we hope to eventually build up a "series" of "The Hellraiser Chronicles". We even has matching DVD case designs done for both of them:

Anyway, as for the filmn itself; it wa smad eon a lot of charity, good intentions and love. The boxes were provided by Puzzle Box makers on The Hellbound Web, the Pyramid Gallery and Puzzle Box Shop, both brilliant boxes. A THW member donated his moving box for those shots and then it was returned to him. It was shot on a Canon XM2 for the most part, provided by friends and lighting, sound etc was provided by my University at the time... although some of it fecked up resulting in a couple of sound issues in a couple of scenes. It was edited on Premier and After Effects which were, ah, obtained... Frosty gave the Cenobite body suit and mask, free of charge, as he loved the script... he's a THW member and professional sculptor. The score was by THW member Robert Shaw, the actors were a mixture of professional friends and drama students. A lot of time and effort went in to this from a lot of people. Whislt I'm the firts to admit it's not perfect, I think it came together pretty damn well in the end, although I should let others judge I guess. :D

Hey Scarecrow, I got this in the mail about an hour ago and I gotta say it's awesome. I've seen very few fan films of this quality - it's honestly a great short film. I can't think of a thing to say against it.

I just watched this on youtube. Even for the video quality, this was remarkable. I would really love to direct one of the "Hellraiser Chronicles" as I don't believe there's been an American entry yet (and wasn't "Question of Faith" created as an actual television pilot?) You really did a tremendous job of working with what you had. The acting was spot on, the effects were wonderful for the budget. It felt a little more old fashioned (stylistically and also with the lead actor, it actually reminded me quite a bit of Romero's "Martin" in places, just in the overall look) I think this film is certainly a worthy piece of Hellraiser mythology. Sorry it took me this long to view it.

I also see that there's a little genre bending, much like with my Hellbound comic (though mine is sadly more obvious) in mixing in that "other" classic horror novel. ;)

Applause to all involved. There are rarely fan productions of this quality.

Well, this was an unexpected and delightful post to read! Thanks so much for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it. I definitly went for a few classic stylistic choices, definilty, and delighted you've compared it to the superb "Martin", high praise indeed.

It'd be great to see more HR fanfilms, so I always sya go for it if you can!

On the subject of "A Question of Faith", it was less a pilot and more a promo, as part of a pitch to 'sell' the idea of a series. A shame it didn't go much further but it certainly inspired so many others, myself included.

On the comic, it's now 1/4 coloured and being lettered, I'll send you an email ocne I get a reponse form the artist on a few things. :)

Thanks again and all the best!
