I'd have to watch it again, as I haven't seen it in about fifteen years.
From what I remember, it's weird in a good way.

This show ruined the song Singing in the Rain. My sister hates this film because of that.
I think its great. Creepy but awesome.

In my local Best Buy they have this categorized under Sci-Fi. That's always urked me.

Eh...it sort of is sci-fi, seeing as how it deals with science/psychological treatment. I'm not quite sure it's a horror film though, either, even if it is quite horrifying at times.

There should be a cult section and that's where it should be.

In response to Utellme (the thread starter)

We never find out for sure what happens to Pete (the 3rd brother how you put it). In the movie that is, but not in the book.

The film originated from its novel, by Anthony Burgess. When published world wide, the U.S. addition of the novel had seemingly been edited out in parts, and had even cut out the official last chapter of the book. Stanley Kubrick (director/writer/producer) for the movie, had only read the American version of the book and would naturally assume that the book ended in the hospital, when in fact it ended with Alex going back to his old ways (as the ending scene of the film suggests) and starting a new gang to take lead of. However, having just turned 18, Alex no longer feels as interested in his violent ways. It is at this point he meets his old gang member Pete “who has settled down to make a family”. After a rather brief chat with his former droog, Alex realises his coming of age and sets fourth to start a family of his own.

It may also interest you to know that in the book, only one of Alex’s former droogs (Dim) becomes a cop, and that his other one (Georgie) was killed in a failed bank robbery, while Alex was in prison. Georgie’s place is taken by “Billy Boy”, who was Alex’s former rival and leader of the gang the droogs fight at the beginning of the film/novel.

I guess this might be catergorized as Sci-fi because it's kinda set in a post-apocolyptic future.

Always been one of my favs.

I saw this at my local music store about a month ago, but not under Horror. It was under, uh...where Critters, Legend, and stuff are. Isn't that science fiction?

Studying it for -level english. It's classed as 'dystopian sci-fi' apparently, at least what I found.

Interesting film, and a good book from what I've read.

I'm a fan.

I have found A special edition 2 disc dvd ? Anyone know what the extras are ? I dont know wheter to buy the SE or Blu Ray version ?

If it's in HD, I always go with that. I value picture/sound quality over extras. In the case of the Kubrick releases, the HD versions carry over all the special features, so it's a no-brainer.

ok thank you. I just wonder whats makes the SE require 2 disc what all could be on them ? If anybody finds a link of specs please post.

A second disc is required if there are a lot of extras; otherwise, if they tried to cram everything on one disc, the picture and audio quality would suffer big time. In short, there's just not enough space. For the most part, this won't be a problem with HD media unless all the special features are in HD, too (and there have indeed been some 2-disc HD and BD releases). Anyway, here's what Hi Def Digest lists as the special features on the Clockwork Orange release:

• Audio commentary by Malcolm McDowell and historian Nick Redman
• Channel 4 documentary: "Still Tickin’: The Return of Clockwork Orange"
• Featurettes: "Great Bolshy Yarblockos!: Making A Clockwork Orange," "O Lucky Malcolm!"
• Theatrical trailer.

The A Clockwork Orange HD version is probably the best it will look for about 7 years or so. Until they come out with 2k or 4k discs lol.

I will probably be the only one with this wish but i all ways wished there was a part 2. With Alex getting his revenge on everyone who abused him after he got out of jail.

This thread has been quiet for to long i hope i can stir up some talk on it.

I have 2 questions for any of you who likes this film here they are.

1. Since Kubrick passed away does this mean there can not be a remake of this ?

2. Would anybody else like to of seen a part 2 ?

I feel by making a sequel or a remake, you cheapen the original's impact on cinema.

Utellme

Ok understood and respected but i just think a new modern version of this would be cool imo it won't erase the original and might lead more people to the original.
