I must say, I agree 100% on the two slow scenes here. They dragged on the film to a halt. Sad. If only those were trimmed, I think that The Prowler could have been even better. It's good, but...well, what do you think?

I also agree about those two scenes slowing down the pace of the flick. It's still a top quality early 1980s slasher & a favourite of mine. It has some great kills & effects. I love the head shot at the end. Not as brutal as Maniac's head shot though. Still pretty awesome.

I remember being underwhelmed, but still loved the original poster art enough to use it on the site.

Ah, The Prowler. I swear, this, Twitch of the Death Nerve, and I Spit on Your Grave were talked about all the fucking time on horror sites and the old F13 forum when I first got online. Of those three, I'd say this one is probably the favorite, but Death Nerve is pretty doep in its own right.
I dunno about anyone else, but the band during the school dance rocks the house in this flick. :bang:

I love this film too, however, much like My Bloody Valentine, the cast for the most part are butt ugly.

I don't know. I think the cast for this and MBV are partially fugly, but there are some fine ones. Take for instance in The Prowler: There's...um...hmmm...
My Bloody Valentine: Sarah's not half bad. Her best friend isn't either. Sylvia's boyfriend and Axel are rough but there's a strange liking for me towards them. And Mabel! God, what a babe. ;)

Same with Madman, haha... ugly cast with an occasional beauty like Gaylen Ross.

Shit, even Gaylen is unattractive in Madman. :X

This movie is okay I guess, but nothing great. Very slow and boring in parts, but great effects and good atmosphere with some genuine suspense save it.

Funny that MBV is being brought up because, like I said in the review, this and MBV work as a great slasher double feature seeing as how both are sort of centered around dances. Of the two, I'd have to give the nod to MBV for just being consistently better. The Prowler just has a couple of scenes that slow down the pace too much.

I'll have to give both the double feature treatment sometime.
Although I like The Prowler quite a bit, I prefer My Bloody Valentine to it.
