Skybase and Torchwood both pick up the Mysterons signal in a nearby research facility, believing them to be after some kind of weapon Skybase send Captain Scarlet to investigate and Torchwood send Jack Harkness. Both arrive at the same time and bump into each other, Torchwood scanners detect Scarlet to be an alien (Due To his Mysteron DNA) and believing him to be hostile Jack guns him down only to be surprised when Scarlet recovers and fires back.

Both Were Killed And Then Ressurected

I think there's an error here, looking at some of the aspects of Jack.

First off, Jack isn't his real name. It's an assumed name. Also, we know a little about his parents naming habits from the fact that his brother's name is Gray. Doesn't seem too unfeasible that they'd choose another colour for his name as well...

He couldn't fight Captain Scarlet, because he IS Captain Scarlet. :p
