From the co-writer of Hellboy, and the widely popular, yet sadly unused scripts to Aliens Vs. Predator, and Freddy Vs. Jason, Peter Briggs. Come a new monster flick which marks the longtime screenwriter/cinemaphotographer's directorial debut. Mortis Rex is a monster flick set in ancient Rome. In 123 A.D., a disgraced Roman war hero is sent to defend a Roman garrison station in a remote part of Scotland. The garrison has been terrorized by a recent spate of killings under mysterious circumstances. The warrior regains his honor and standing by joining forces with the local druids to destroy the monstrous beast commiting the atrocities.:dead: By the way, in case your wondering, "Mortis Rex" is Latin for..."King of Death".:saw: The flick has been budgeted at 25 million smackers, and is set to start filming sometime early next year.
